Hello VU

Like many of you, I am a former cigarette smoker who made the switch to vaping and also so happen to be a dental hygienist.

There really isn't too much information out there regarding vaping and its effect on your dental health. With my knowledge in the dental field, I hope this article will answer many common questions you may have and should suffice until real clinical studies are conducted.

Disclaimer: This is for educational purposes only. Although vaping is much safer for your body, few things really are 100% safe. The purpose of this article is to educate our community on any necessary preventative measures that can be taken to ensure a healthy oral cavity

Enjoy :)

Thank you! This is very informative!
Another thing that helps after an extraction is a subohm tank. The Direct to lung action has no vacuum effect like a MTL tank. This is from my prospective only though. I'm in the process of getting all my teeth pulled. I have a hereditary issue where I have no enamel on my teeth. My Bio mom had all her teeth pulled in her 20's as well. So I'm no stranger to vaping after an extraction. All it takes is precaution. :)

Great article.

Here is my experience with cigarettes and dental issues. As a long time smoker, I tended to drag pretty hard to get a good hit. Over time, I would be dragging so hard that I would putting pressure on my back teeth. Last year I had to have two teeth removed due to running out of options to save them. While I cannot definitively claim that the action of smoking caused these tooth problems, I do notice that when I vape I am not sucking in the vapor as I did with the smoke. I do not feel the pull on my teeth anymore except when using an inferior e-cig.

My problem may be different as one of my roots was malformed, making the entry of bacteria far easier than in a normal tooth. Sucking in against a cigarette only exacerbated that problem.
