Help! Velocity Mini Problems wicking and building

Hello All,

I recently got into building RDA's and have been having some trouble getting a consistent vape. I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I got a Velocity mini clone from Fastech. I have thrown a couple builds on there to try to find the right balance of flavor with great cloud production. What I ended up settling on for what I like on my Alien 220w is a 22G Kanthal 7 wrap dual coil. 3mm ID. Ohms around .25 .I usually vape around 100-150 watts depending on the time of day. Here is what I have been experiencing. I will build a new coil and get it centered , ohm check it, pinch it and adjust to have it fire inside out, all the basics. Then I go to wick it with some cotton bacon. I usually just go by feel by feeling a little resistence from the coil but not too much pull. It wicks great at first, the build vapes amazing. The flavor isn't the absolute best I have had, but it's good especially for the amount of clouds it produces. ( I have a squonker that I do more flavor type builds on) . The problem comes when it comes time to rewick, and this has happened multiple times. Typically I will run 15 mls through my builds in a day. Maybe a little more depending on the day. I usually dry burn the coil every day when it is time to rewick, although with this build I haven't made it past a day or so because of the following problem. I abandon the build because of what happens next. I would love it to work consistently like it does on the first day. When I rewick it after dry burning, it never wicks right. I rewicked this thing 4-5 times yesterday and kept having the same problems. Dry hits, diminished flavor and vapor. I tried the scottish roll method once, and it was dry hit city and pure cotton taste. I tried using cotton bacon and tried using cotton square pads. I tried using less and more cotton. I am confused because this has happened a few times in my builds. It starts out amazing and then after a day the vape starts to taste almost watery. That's the best way to describe it.... No problem I can rewick it, when I do , it never comes out right. I would think if I were just screwing up the wicking that it would be that way from the start, the first time I slap the coil in there and wick it then it should be bad if my technique is way off. But it's consistently happening with this particular build in this particular RDA and it's always after the first day. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank You.

So you think then it's because my build is too powerful for the atty? It vapes great for the first 24 hours. It's very satisfying flavor wise and I enjoy the vapor production. Is this abnormal? Should I not be doing this consistently?

Can you recommend an atty that could handle this build consistently?

Thank you for your recommendation. Number of wraps and wattage range by chance you would recommend for this atty?

Also any recommendations on a comp atty you mentioned? I like the build.

Can't say for sure since I use spaced SS316L in TC in my velocity mini's.
