Scrap coil piles one mans trash...

Im interested in seeing your piles of old coils! One thing I find facinating about this hobby is the rapid progression from basic to obscenely complex. On day one even a simple clapton can take hours then months later you would throw out that same build if there was a single gap in the clapton wrap. I know some of you guys must have impressive scrap heaps that many would look at like gold. Just curious. When i get home tomorrow ill dig out the box with my 1st builds and post.

Alot of them are perfect matched sets. When I build something else or a build ohms out too high I just toss them in a pile on my desk then other randoms get mixed in.

Yeah, I figured they were all good. That was a sad attempt at a joke. To be honest, I would rather buy yours and Ray's discards than buy some of these coil kits I've seen online. I saw some claptons for sale a couple of days ago for about $10 for 8 coils - 24g cores and 32g wrap. I imagine they'd take a few seconds to heat up. I could turn the power up but I don't like a hot vape.

I've got a pair of Ray's aliens in my Reload clone right now and they heat up instantly at 50 watts. Nice warm vape with a lot of flavor. :)

Awesome idea dusty lol I have a bag of sad failures for my first attempts most end up in the bin though ...if they are passable in they go in!

These were my first attempt coils I kept hold of over time

Was really pissed off when this one failed at the coiling stage wrapping it went well until I tried to coil it up

Turns out I did save some from my 1st month. I remember at the time I thought hell I put so much time into these I'll definetly put them into another rda. Nope, but I think its good to look back and evaluate your mistakes.

My top pic was my first first go at the enigma

Underneath was my attempt at whiskey warriors squalien build (frames sit on top of the verticle ribbon stack) that came out spot on but I failed to coil it I just couldn't control its twisting much like a lot of my builds!

Gottcha. While trying the enigma i noticed that a little too much strech gives you the star shape like on your squalien. Its so cool all the diffrent shapes that appear with changes in decore size strech and tension.

My piles are actually really small. Most builds get trashed mid fuse but I threw out the pile of fails 3 days ago.
