I'm not sure what you mean by "dark flavors" ?

Do you mean those flavors related to ....

or..."other" dark arts?

It's a category of flavors in my head. Custards, cereal, Catalan cream, caramel, etc. Heavier thicker flavors, if you get my drift. You know,,, dark.:coffee:

Well, I finally mixed it up... at least, my own variation of it. I always change recipes, pretty much every recipe I try, for different reasons, but mostly because... I'm just that way. :D

This was what I mixed:

FA Zeppola 3%
TFA DX Bavarian Cream 2%
TFA Cheesecake Graham 1%
LorAnn Cheesecake 1%
LorAnn Cream Cheese Icing 1%

Increased the Zeppola to 3%, based on what I read about this flavor, and because I do tend to prefer more flavoring than most do. And only 1% of the TFA cheesecake graham because the smell of that flavor just flat icks me out, but because I did want to accent something cream-cheese-ish, I also used 1% each of LorAnn's Cheesecake and Cream Cheese Icing. I also added a bit of Flash, because AFAIC, a vape without TH ain't worth vaping. :D So, it's still a very-meager 8% (I usually prefer 20%-25% flavoring, but I realize that FA flavors tend to be strong), so I'll let it stay in the dark drawer till Monday, and then see how I feel about it.

I keep seeing this and keep telling myself I have to try this. Then i don't.

I finally gave it a try yesterday, since I mixed I up late Thurs night... but unfortunately, after boiling one of my Achilles to get the scent of strawberry out of it, I thought i'd take a shortcut and use the old coil, just dry-burn it... but all I could taste was metal. Ick. So, I'm working on getting another coil in it; the coil is in there, but I'm procrastinating as usual, so it's awaiting a wick. :D

Ok, I finally got the new coil wicked... and still, it tasted to me like metal. My son tasted it too, but he didn't taste the metal, just said it seemed not to have much flavoring. So we decided to just let it steep a bit longer. It may be that it's just flat NOT enough flavoring -- even my own variation was only 8%, which is about a third as much flavoring as I normally like.

I'm thinking that most of you people probably don't really like sweets at all, or anything that has an actual flavor, with these 5%-10% flavoring recipes.

Maybe you should try adding 40% INW Shisha Strawberry and 25% FA Joy. Maybe toss in 63% EM to sweeten it up just a tad.
And your most likely correct with your comment,,,, Your comment>>>>>>> "most of you people probably don't really like sweets at all, or anything that has an actual flavor"

Different Strokes and all that .......
For me if a recipe reaches 5% I probably wont be able to tolerate it !
Most of my mixes are between 2% and 4% total flavoring.
Upside is my concentrates last forever..... Downside is its very easy to overpower one flavor with another in a recipe.

In fact its rare I can use posted recipes at all..... they can just give ideas for flavor profiles.
I have to keep a bottle of unflavored base around to cut all the over flavored experiments !
Curse... or Gift.... ?

I tried this tonight after a good steep. I like it a lot. It tastes different than I thought it would. Guess it's the zeppola. A keeper. Now I wish I made more than 20mls.

I made me a 9.25% version of this last night. Same flavors, just turned up a bit for my max VG style & old, dead tastebuds.
Smelled real nice but it's gonna steep awhile before I try it.

@Squonk I know this is an older recipe and sorry to drag it up again but is there a reason you've used the DX Bavarian Cream? I'd just like to know if it would work with the non DX version as that's all I have in? xx
Go back and look at post #24, I believe he said he got the DX by accident and the sub for regular BC would be okay.
Haven't seen dear @Squonk in a long time...miss him here.
