steeping saved my e-juice

Hey guys. I went on a little rant a few weeks ago about some e-juice I bought at the beginning of the month. It was "made to order" apparently Dashvapes has a lil dispensary/factory thing going on there. Anyway i had ordered 4 bottles of ejuice and when I received them I was so pumped to try them so I tried 3 of the four. ALL OF THEM HURT MY THROAT I even had trouble breathing after trying them all. They were nothing I wasn't used too (6mg 70/30, pretty common for me) anyways I was pissed and emailed them. That's when they told me they were certified blah blah blah and ejuice was made to order on the spot. So I'm like so I need to steep it? They reply "no it's good to go" lol clearly not. Long story short. Thanks to this wonderful forum I got familiar with the steeping process. I put the whole lot in rubbermaid tote box and left it alone for a week. Shook it up after 7 days then put them back in the box and just let it sit in the dark for another two weeks. 3 weeks later and I'm enjoying the ejuice that almost killed me lol STEEPING IS THE TRUTH! It's smoothed things right out and It's safe to assume it brought out the flavors. I have a little 30ml of Killer Kustard I'm saving to try last. I read on here that custards age really well. Just throwing it out there. Thanks to all the great people on this forum. The journey continues :D

Glad to see you didn't have to waste good juice. I find that not trusting the "ready to rock" guarantee of vendors is a good rule to go by. Hell, I always steep juice at least a week, no exceptions. Some people might like vaping perfume, but I don't. What flavors did you buy anyway?

Blueberry Parfait (meh, not even close a ADV too much granola lol) Lemon Cheese Bar (very unique lemon cheesecake type thing, I really like this one) I got a Vanilla Bean Milkshake that I haven't got to since steeping. Hoping it's decent. It was a cheaper one so I won't be superised if it still sucks..and the 30ml of Vapetasia's Killer Kustard which I've yet to try..it smells delicious lol

My buddy has had the vanilla bean milkshake. He likes it, but then again he likes any juice that's sweet. If you make a DIY parfait, use almond in place of granola, I personally think it works ALOT better. Have heard some good stuff about killer custard, but also some bad, to each his own I guess.

Thanks for the info. I just got some Killer Kustard Strawberry that sux. No strawberry flavor at all. I'll let it steep a while...

To me high quality juice comes clear to light yellow and even if it's been steeping for 3 years it gets darker yellow but never reaches dark brown in color.

Garbage juice comes clear, steeps great, but 2 months later it turns black and you have to dump it.

I never buy a juice again if it turns dark brown / black before I finish vaping all of it.
It doesn't matter how much I like it I can't use it because I like to wait for a super good deal (25%+ off) and buy like 4 months worth of juice at once.

Once I find a vendor that uses the proper flavoring agents and quality nicotine (bad nic turns juice black fast) I try my usual flavor profiles, find something I like and stick with it for a while.

I DIY and 4 weeks is minimum for all my juices. If it's not good after aging, it will probably never be good.

What’s the steeping process? I’m interested in learning..
It’s probabaly pretty simple and all you need is patience..

Do you just store it in a cool dark place, capped and sealed?

You do the exact same thing you do when you order from Fasttech. Find a dark corner and wait, and wait and wait and then one day its ready.

So keep it air tight? Basically all the juices you find at the vape stores are steeping?

I stir my mixes once a day or so. Steep for a week or two. Seems like my fruity mixes are good SNV. I like dessert flavors, they need to steep a while.

If you don't already have these, get one. They're cheap and are awesome stirring machines! :xD:

I diy a lot. At least for me there was a learning curve. Different flavors "steep" at different rates. For example, Bavarian cream and custards. Killer Kustard is my favorite custard so far but it's hit and miss straight from the store. I'll try it one time and it's sweet from the git-go. The next time it's bland as it can be. In that case I let it age for about a month and that does the trick. Another example from the diy end is some grape soda I made. It was Flavor West Grape Soda @ 15% in a 70/30 mix @ 3mg. That's it. Simple. I thought it was going to be shake and vape heaven. WRONG. It smelled like paint thinner and tasted like ... well, pick your own colorful adjective. I almost dumped it down the sink. Instead, it sat for 2 solid months and turned out great. Like I said, I diy a lot but as far as store brands are concerned 3 stand out to me. Killer Kustard from Vapetasia, Super Good from Squeezee (raspberry watermelon candy), and 120 Cream Pop from Mad Hatter (orange creamsicle). Glad you saved your juice. And Vape On.
