I know 22 and 24mm is the standard size, and everyone pisses and moans when their
RDA over-hangs 1mm from their MOD's, but personally, I would like to see RDA's that
give me more room to build on.. not really like the Mason 30mm, but they do have a 27mm.

Does anyone else agree with me?

Do you get all twisted out of shape when your RDA sticks out a bit?

I'm not an overhang Nazi myself. Used to think it looked alright with some tanks. Have Ya tried the Sherman? That's 28mm wide with a clamp system

I haven't seen the original over here like. Would probably pay that for it if it works as well as it looks like it should do. I'll try the clone first though and see if it's any good cause I personally wasn't a fan of the clamp system in the goon and ended up passing that onto friend.

I here yah, nice spacious build areas are nice, but....From a flavor percpective larger build areas usual make a decline in flavor. A work around would be to build larger coils, to fill in all the unused space, but then you have to chase that size increase with higher watts. Obviously, there are many ways/directions to get good flavor, but the most elegent with Flavor being the top priority is small chambers and small'ish builds.

Try out the Carbonite by leo lee its 26mm and has deep wicking channels and build deck same as apocalypse and sherman. I have 2 and yheyr aleays in my regular rotation. Just big enough for decent size 4mm builds but small enough that flavor is still good. Also the drip tip design is cool in the way its insulated from the heat.

Yeah - been focusing on the little guys a lot myself - saw tons of over 25mm at Elementvape.com though. Lots of stuff I've never heard of - guess I haven't really done much atty-oogling lately

I loathe overhang or if it doesn't sit flush.

Flush is mandatory

I used to vape with a lot of overhang, but I had a tighter leash on the vaping-budget my first three years of vaping

Must admit the more gear I've used the more I've enjoyed the single coil attys as well ...25mm is the max I'll buy but like the other guys above me have said a muffin top (apart from my gut) is a no go area for me

@Train by the way thanks for the gorge suggestion it's a fantastic atty really been enjoying it!

Well I've never really thought I needed bigger than 22-23mm in RDAs or RTAs. My favorite RDA on a Reo Grand is a Cyclone which is I think 16mm diameter. So for me it's not really an overhang issue, but thinking about it now, that look would probably bug me a bit too.

RDAs bigger than 24mm, all of which I own:

Wotofo 25mm The Troll 2

2 Ă— Vapergate 27mm Mason Advocate

Vaperz Cloud 30mm Temple NP
Vaperz Cloud 30mm Buddha V4
Deathwish Modz 30mm Deathtrap
Vapergate 30mm Limited Edition Mason V2
Vapergate 30mm Mason Gemini Series II
  • Vapergate 30mm Limited Edition postless deck
Vaperz Cloud 36mm Obese Buddha

The 27mm Advocate has (very) negligible overhang on my Reuleaux RX300, whereas all the 30mm ones only get used with my (2Ă—) Hammer of God and my Vapergate The 99. The obese obviously only gets used with the Hammers... I really like hammering some stuff.

That is the style of build deck I like, 2 posts, with good size screws on the top... so much easier to get the coils centered right....

Nice coils... did you get those from Kidney Puncher?

There's not just two, but four different adaptations/versions of the 30mm Mason. There's the 30mm Mason, the 30mm Mason Gemini Series II, the 30mm Limited Edition Mason V2, and the 30mm Limited Edition Mason Shorties.

I got the Obese Buddha from the local (in Belgium) B&M store several months ago.

That's super cheap... I would be leery of buying a RDA under like, $15.00..... but that's just me, maybe it's just as
good, and maybe we are all being ripped off big time with shit that only costs a few bucks to manufacture :)
The Wasp Nano is good and authentic only costs $12.

Most I've spent on an RDA was the equivalent (in Euros) of $215, and, had I bought it in the U.S., it would have been $145. I have two of them. :)

I think the Reload is the most I ever paid for a RDA, like $80something.. When the RDA costs more than what the
MOD is worth, I have to scratch my head.. That is of course, unless I buy $400.00 high end MOD's...

Well a $400 mod doesn't necessarily always vape better than a $40 mod. A lot depends on what your expectations are.

Oh, I know, but a well made high end MOD is more likely to last for years, and will be easier to work on if you have to.
Who knows, all this stuff may be banned in a few years, and we will need MODs that last and can be maintained, or
we learn to build our own... lol

Took me a while to find you... but wanted to give you a shout-out for turning me on to the Sherman...
Been vaping on it for several days and I have to say, this is probably my all time favorite RDA.....
So, thanks :)

I wondered why I had a new mention in this thread lol. Ah no worries about it la, glad it was useful information to you :) I still haven't pulled the trigger on that yet as I've been looking into the MTL RDA's that are around now. Is it an easy build deck like? Also what's the airflow like as it only has bottom airflow? Was thinking if I buy one I'd probably drill 2 holes, 1 either side for side airflow as well as I don't like to restrictive a lung hit. Don't like it too airy either so I'd probably have to start small and move in small increments upwards until I hit my ideal airflow. Anyways thank for the thanks, it's appreciated :)

I have 3 coppervapes. But those are fine with a 22 or 24mm atty...
I was simply pointing out how we skipped right from 18 to 22, and never stopped at 20, which would be a nice size for the Grand.
:D:D

Damn Reo elitists, snobs that dislike the easy squonk of the sacred CopperVape. They should go stick it in their ear. :)

Hm, yep 20 mm would be perfect for the Grand. The 22 & 24 mm RDAs I have do hang over a bit on my two Reo Grand clones. *chuckles* When a person can buy four clones for the price of the lowest end retail authentic, kind of makes it an easy argument win. AFAIK, the clones function the same as the authentics, possibly minor difference in overall 'quality' of the milled parts but metal is metal.

Please don't take my joking as an declaration of crusade or jihad to convert Reo users. I still dust the Reo clones I have off once in a bit and use them. For me the preference is indeed the ergonomics of the squonking hole location and shaping of the CopperVape. Got violinist fingers, thin, wiry. I can use the rectangular box Reos with their square holes on the side, it is just a bit less intuitive for me & can possibly call my buddy Arthur Itis. He can be a prick, too.

But no, no war or hate on against Reos here. :) I do like them actually despite the minor hm, cons of preference. They are a lot better than the cheap (note I use the word cheap and not affordable) "Terminator" squonk kit I first bought.
