They say that the NIC content is 5% of 1.5ml. If I were to refill these with DIY juice, what level in MG would i need to make the juice? If anyone knows the ratio of the PHIX pods that would also be helpful.

If you are refilling POD's or Cartridges you will get what you fill them with. The amount left over will be minuscule and really doing the math is a waste of time. I am pretty sure the ones you have will be marked as to what they contain so refill with the same nicotine content.

5% is the same as 50mg per ml. But, the Phix is nic salts. There aren't many juice companies that make nic salt juices but that's what you would want to fill it with if you need to stay at that nic level. Even if you could find standard juice at 50mg per ml it would taste like shit. The nic salt is used because it doesn't alter the taste as much.

I have the Phix, Juul and Cync pens. Personally, if I were to refill them I would just use 12mg per ml standard juice. That's what I have in my Cync and it's much better, juice wise, than the Phix or Juul. My Cync pods are filled with Five Pawns juice. It's great so far and much less nic.

You could buy a small 100ml bottle of DIY nic salt that's 100ml/mg from a few different vendors that carry them.
Then buy whatever eliquid that you prefer in 0mg nic and add however much nic to it you need to get the desired effect.

Opinions on how the Phix, Cync, Juul and any other worthy competitors compare in stock form-- for an apples to apples look?

I have a Juul, second battery after warranty replacement. A few months later, I have to keep tapping it to get the green light on. Even then, its hit it miss whether it will fire or dry hit. Great when it works.

So, anything with a good throat hit that is more reliable?

I've had better reliability from the Phix battery than the JUUL and the pods are larger so they last longer. It's heavier too though. The Cync is even heavier but the pods are big as well. Haven't had the Cync very long but it has always worked. Upside of the Cync is that you can choose namebrand juice if you like so flavor is better.
