In all fairness your posting profile will differ from most as you are an active reviewer.

A lot of those posts were strictly to plop a review in the middle of a thread

Also, member posting stats are viewable for anybody. Go to the profile page and in the bar there is a box called Post Areas that shows those stats

Anyone can view them

Anyone can see them unless they are a MOD's profile stats apparently.
That was my point.
Try and look at a mods profile stats.

Too bad no one can look at your profile except other mods?

Seems like posting that information may be a bit improper?

Just an observation nothing personal.

Post your profile let us compare?
Or better yet Smokies?
I'm not the one acting like they have something to prove, nor am I trying to use the stats to reduce what someone says.

But in the interest of full disclosure this is mine.

Thank you sir.
Very nice of you to post that.

Much better distributed post count than mine.

At a glance I would say that you have been having some fun but helping people and being a decent mod.

I will have to figure out how to screen capture in this new windows.
My old SC program does not work in win 8+

Print screen will put it on the clipboard then you can paste it into paint. Cumbersome but works even with dual monitors.

Don't know why my comment is in the quote but...yea..print screen and paste into paint

I read they were doing, that great feature. I just tried it on both Pro and Home but it must not have been in the last update. Something new to look forward to in my drab life.:teehee:

OH OH! I have a priint screen button on my spotted cow computer!
Now to figure out what it did.

20 years ago I was really into computers but got to where I just use em where I used to build em all.
Yeah you and me both. I used to build all mine and for friends and family, just use them now. Then again I also used to do a lot of gaming also, but that got old and no decent games any longer IMO. Hell I've even dropped my Internet access at home since the plan on my phone is unlimited data. I've been doing IT professionally since the early 90's it's lost it's charm ya know.

I used to be in my computer's case so often, I left the cover off. :giggle: But when I bought this laptop and wanted to upgrade the RAM from 4gb to 16GB, I had to completely disassemble the entire thing to get at the RAM... after I got the first layer apart, I decided I really didn't wanna get any further into it, and called MicroCenter (where I bought it) to ask how much they charged to do it -- $30. "Done! I'll bring it in tomorrow!" :D

I've built a few in my day. I plan to build a nice new desktop shortly after the next gen Intel chips come out.

You mean like the one I'm using now.:)

The one with the big ass fan under my desk blowing on it despite having a liquid cooled CPU.
In all fairness the fans keeping me cool also.

My 1st PC came with a 1,200 Baud Rate Modem and now I have 8 Workstations/Servers in a 42U Network Rack with Gigabit Network. I remember trying to shoehorn programs in a 250 MB HDD and now I count how many Tera Bytes. Still have true floppy disks around too!

Edit: I just saw I wrote a 250 MG HDD! LMFAO

I haven't shut my A/C off since June I think? On the plus side you never get chilly in the winter!

Jing no worky in my comfuser.
Says compatibility issues and crashes.

No reason to use any of that addition software when the basic tools are already installed with your operating system.

Google is my friend.

Just had to hold the Windows key while pressing Print Screen key.
Put it in the screenshots folder.

I have gotten too lazy at computing.
Have not even written a program in a few years.

About 15 years ago I used to run with a crowd like that.
I was a full fledged techno dweeb on the bleeding edge of Unix server tech. Worked with clusters of the biggest meanest Sun servers they built.
Bunch of smart kids that lived that stuff.
I was good but they were VERY good.
I miss Sun, Solaris was the most advanced OS there was, I miss it. Sun hardware also runs forever, I miss them. I also miss the old HP with HPUX

I have a copy of solaris for X86 PC... Ran it a while on an old PC.

Seems like I downloaded it for free from Sun?
I forget been 17 years ago....

We used the Korn kernal at work.
We also had failover servers in the cluster for theoretically 100% availability.
Did not always work out that way though :)

I was a client server application administrator.
At the time it had the most lines of code of any client server app.

I have an Hp envy laptop: I7, 16g ram, 2tb hd

- I simply miss when HP made quality! This thing is not at all built like the machines they used to put out

Up to at least a few years ago they were still decent hardware.
We used all HP PC's at my old job in the Data Center.

I resisted getting a laptop for years, since I could get a much more powerful and loaded machine with a desktop, for the same money. But when I was able to get a core i5 with 16gb for right around $500, I couldn't pass it up. I compared the specs of 3-4 different laptops, and this one was the best, hands down, across the board -- including the battery life. And it's been a damned decent PC, though I had some problems with my video driver after a recent Win update; had to hunt down an updated video driver. It's now about 2.5 yrs old, and still works just great. :) And I confess, being able to discombobulate it and take it with me if I want to, that's amazing. Though I prefer it connected to my 2nd monitor, regular keyboard and mouse, and awesome Logitech speakers. :D

I've had an Hp before. Before i had this, I had a Lenovo thinkpad. The quality difference is astounding! The thinkpad was built like a tank, this thing feels so fragile. Albeit, the display is phenomenal, the aesthetics are gorgeous and the components are exemplary; but, the overall build quality feels clunky.

I thought virtually all laptops were built that way now?
Kinda like mainstream mods?

Maybe so... If that's the case it's pretty damn sad.

I'll be building a desktop built like a Sherman tank.

I used to have a couple of Sparks I ran at home plus worked with the big iron at work. I loved the hot swappable cpu's, just plug in bank of 4 cpu's, touch the kernel and Bob's your Uncle. Then when Solaris implemented their self healing file system, damn!

Oh very fond memories ya kno!
