Is it water proof? How do you clean the clearomiser? I usually rinse mine out in the sink with water.

I don't think that will be a good idea with a built in battery and electronics.

I really wish you could remove the tank, like the billet box.

Twisted420 did a review on this earlier today. @ 8:05 you can see e-juice running down inside the enclosure at the fill ports. Not sure how you'd get that out. It would be pretty nasty after a few months use.

Non replaceable battery kills it for me. I'm sure this thing will be 70.00 or more dollars. I stop around 40.00 mark for non replaceable batteries.

A glass clearo is $20-$30 that's included. It makes sense the battery would need to be in a moisture proof compartment with the tank inside. But it is at the upper range for a device without replaceable batteries.

I'm still fascinated. It would be so handy and easy to use! Cute and stealthy!

all-metaled surface...portable size...wattage adjustable, and HG booking sale price is 69.9 dollars...not saying perfect, but it is creative, love to have a try, lol!

I have ordered 11 of these for my shop in Canada. I originally ordered a couple of each color, but the supplier said only black and silver were available, the other colors coming later. The dark almost black one is the one I wanted for myself.. I'm very excited for these. If they vape as good as a nautilus mini I think they will be a big hit. they are very, very small. I want to see more powerful but small devices in 2015.

Interesting. There was a private coop looking into these and it appeared as if all 4 colors were being offerred (we know how those things can go sometimes). They couldn't get a firm quote on coils - $17 for 5 (retail) ??? That's a deal killer. I think that's the reason the Delta isn't everywhere too (head prices too high). Dimitri's video pulls apart one of them for the Egrip. They aren't vertical coils and look rebuildable. It's kind of a shame they couldn't at least use a single coil design for everything. I'd love to try one out but not with those replacement head prices.

$17us might be a bit high for coils. I ordered 100 coils too. They cost more than Kanger Dual Coils, but less than Aspire BVC coils. In my town, I sell them for $12 and $18 respectively, so I'd probably sell these for $15. (this is Canadian money - more like $10 and $16, and $13 in us money). we Canadian vendors pay a lot more taxes on import.

I got one today. First thing that I noticed as I went to charge it was that it seems to weigh more than my Clouper T5. It was already charged and clean so I loaded it and tried it. Heats up pretty quickly. There is only one marking on the dial, 20 watts, and some progressively smaller bars. There is no indication of to where those are referenced other than click detents as you rotate it. It's hell to get loose juice out of that little trap door. I keep sticking my pinky over the air hole when I thumb fire it so I am trying to develop the habit of index fingering it, which is fine because that is a more secure way to hold it. That long tube in the body seems to straw a bit. It tends to gurgle. Inverting and blowing clears that for about 2 hits. I have it set all the way down and it tastes like it's on the edge of dry hitting my 30/70 juice, so, fully charged, it has plenty of power. I think they are going to have to make some various resistances of coils to get the full benefit of it's abilities.

Comes with a nice heavy duty charging cord, a new style wall plug, a tool, and a spare 1.5 ohm coil in a tamper proof tray. The box is heavy duty too.

Tastes good. BVC good? ...maybe. Kanger updated good? ...maybe. (A bit tighter draw and at lowest power not much I can do about that.) Delta good? ...haven't tried that one yet.

What kills it for me is not the non replaceable battery (although i much prefer replaceable ) it's that it's rated at 1500 mAh , thats just not going to work for me.

The only two i would buy currently is the trusty old MVP 2.0 and the Istick .

I also got one today for myself (have others still on order to sell). I agree. It's pretty good. It's good mostly because it's super small, well-built, and cool. I had to loosen the air screw a bit to have a better draw. Like any brand new coil, it needed an hour or so and now it's vaping very good. As good as any other bottom dual coil clearomizer. 1500mah isn't too bad really considering it's so tiny. I like the fact it doesn't have a replaceable battery, as then I'd feel compelled to carry around batteries with me. I have my iStick with me as well most of the time. This is the same height of the iStick exactly, a little thinner (by about 1mm) and a lot shorter because there's only a drip tip on it, and a bit wider. It's an excellent stealth vape. I think an iStick with a Mini Naut is a slightly better vape, but this is a cool alternative and the very first (in my knowledge) of an all-in-one unit.

My blue iStick reminds me of an oversize Bic lighter, and this reminds me of a only slightly larger Zippo. I can see these being in the 60's$ in the usa and in the 70$ range in Canada. Coils will be cheaper than nautilus and a little more expensive than Kanger.

When I go far, I grab the iStick and the Kanger MOW tank and a bit of juice in a bottle. The Mini Naughty BVC and this thing are just too prone to dry hits. Would I buy the eGrip knowing what I do now, even without pre-ordering and at the same price that I got it for? No. That is based on the coils. It really doesn't matter if it's just 1500 mah if you can't even turn it up high enough to drain the battery or low enough not to gag. The MOW or an Aerotank I can run at 15 and 18 watts respectively with the updated 1.5 ohm coils at full air flow. (The iStick is "overpowered" according to Phil Busardo, so those settings are probably hotter than they sound.)

I am looking at these coils, wondering if I want to risk the one spare that I have by trying to drill one out. I tried putting thinner juice in the eGrip and added PGA to the Aspire but they both still give dry hits if I don't pace myself and keep the air too tight to enjoy.

But when the eGrip is working right, the flavor is great and the form factor is really nice....Maybe I would buy one just because it's cool as hell and I predict that the coils will get better down the road.

I've been carrying an egrip for 5 days. I'm new to vaping and the priority is to get tobacco out of my life. I'm having no frustrations with the device after some teething pains. The first day the device was leaking which was fixed by replacing the coil with one from a 5 pack. The button presses for arming and disarming are fussy and take some practice. But I can use this thing (discretely) on the shop floor at work and nobody cares. That's huge. It's easy to carry and use when I'm out and about on the motorcycle. I have a nautilus mini which I like but the egrip gets more use. I'd buy a new one every year if that is the only way to get a fresh battery.

I got mine today. In most every video or photo I have seen, the dial has marked settings for 8, 11, 14, 17 and 20 with dots in between wattages. The device received ONLY has 20 as a numerical wattage setting, no other numbers and vertical lines instead of dots for each increment. I'm wondering if I got an earlier or later version of the device or if perhaps what I received is not an actual Joetech product...

I think that they did away with the numbers. Mine is the same and if it's a clone, it's the best counterfeiting job that I have ever seen.

I've had one of these for a week and a half and run it one click past 8 watts. Mine has the numbers. They don't matter to me.

Somebody mentioned cleaning. I'm going to talk to a pharmacy about some very small brushes. I think the bottom cap could be soaked in water with denture tablets disolved in it and the same solution could probablly be poured in to the tank. Then after a good soaking put some power to the coil and may be it will clean itself up too. Put a peice of tape over the USB port and poor the water in carefully the same way as the e liquid to avoid fouling the usb port or put the cleaning solution in via the side port. May be somebody has a better idea.

The side loading port is a great feature when I'm not at home. Refilling is pretty much effortless and fool proof.

I saw somebody suggest Urnex Cafiza espresso machine cleaner. It sounds logical and is supposedly safe for all metals. It's a bit pricey but I found a few deals for a few small packets around. It's made for monthly cleaning of a larger steam-type machine, so a 7 gram packet might be good for many tank cleanings. I thought I would get some just to see if it also cleans coils, as it is really supposed to be good at getting oily gunk out of metal screens. The price that I found that was appealing to me was a pre-order for 5 packs under 5 bucks on eBay.

One of the advertised benefits of it is that it is really easy to rinse out.

If it is good for coils, I was thinking that it might also be good for cleaning up Squape R coils rather than dry burning them. One caution about Ematal coatings is that cracks might appear from excessive heating due to the base metal expanding at a different rate than the coating.

Your idea about powering it up with cleaner in there might be a good one. Cafiza is made for back flushing so I guess that is done with the heat on. One problem that I saw with the eGrip is that finding a way to dry burn the coils is going to be tricky because the stem under the threads is too short to make positive contact when installed in most other tank bases. Sure would stank a tank to dry burn them while screwed into the eGrip.

I'll try it. If it ruins my eGrip, I'll holler back. :-/

Question to egrip owners. When charging it flashes for like a minute then stops .The manual states it becomes solid once fully charged. What does your egrip do while charging?

TərlôKh

Member For 4 Years
Mine blinks when charging and shuts off when fully charged.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thanks makes me feel better, I contacted joyetech and said it may be a chipset error but is other wise fine but i am now leaning towards miss print in manual

Joyetech responded about the charging reads as followed.
Thanks for your email and the support of our product.

There is a minor mistake in eGrip User Manual.
The button light will flash 5 times and continuously flashing when eGrip is being charged through usb port

and will go out when eGrip is fully charged.

We will correct this mistake as soon as possible.

Hope you can understand and if any problems feel free to contact us.

Have a nice day.

Best wishes!

I picked up an eGrip over the weekend at my local B&M store. It's the perfect device to throw in your pocket when out and about.

I had plenty of room on my server so I setup a wordpress blog and reviewed the eGrip. Here's the link for those of you that care to read it.

How much juice do you go through on a single charge?
I'm not sure on the amount because I charge it every night. It does outlast the tank for sure.

I finally figured out how to vape this thing and not get dry hits. Suck like crazy at any air setting! Totally annoying way to vape, though.

I haven't had any problems with dry hits with mine vaping Cosmic Fog Nutz.

Hey pretty good review.
I picked up a wood grain egrip for $50 as soon as one became available.
Agree, they are a lot more heavy than you would expect. I suspect the Chinese over did it with the lead filler material. Which makes the supplied drip tip a a poor choice.
All that weight behind it, I felt like it would knock a tooth out if I hit a bump in the road.
I am using a nautilus drip tip until I can pick up something plastic or silicone.

But they do appear to be rock solid. I can see the weakness is going to be the dial and button. It just feels cheap and out of place on the Egrip.

You made some great choices in your size comparison photos. For $50 you are basically getting the capabilities of a 1500mah Vision spinner 2 and a good tank, but in a smaller package. $50 can also get you an istick and a nautilus mini. With a screen that has a battery readout and inaccurate V and W readings. Less another charger. All three would be set by taste options.

For $50 I consider it a luxury device. Something I can keep in my pocket at work all day without a clearomizer sticking out of it or breaking off.

Luxury device? I think of it as more of a "Spork"...Not pleasant to use, but utilitarian enough to get you by if you use it with care. It could probably be a lot better if they used more or more efficient wicking material in the coils. I agree about the drip tip.

The iStick accuracy is only an issue after using a lot of really accurate regulated devices and swapping atties absentmindedly. Most of mine are not all identical in performance, so I'm as likely to notice disparities swapping low ohm builds among mechanicals with different voltage drops. If I could screw just the eGrip tank on a ZNA or Provari, it would still vape really badly, to me. The advantage of one of those mods is that I might be able to set it low enough not to get dry hits.

I haven't had any issues with it dry hitting, but I run mine at 8-9.5 watts. However, I did read on another forum to turn it up to 20 watts, do a quick hit and then turn it back down to your desired wattage. Supposedly that cures it from dry hitting.

Oops! You know what? I never tried it at 20 watts. I think that it just dawned on me that turning the dial all the way counterclockwise until it stops is not actually the lowest setting. It just keeps spinning when I go clockwise. So the little bars are supposed to line up with the light? It tastes a bit nasty now but I have the littlest bar at the light and it seems to feed enough. Sigh...This is why I don't buy complicated things like SmokTech BECs or Provari P3s. Thanks for the tip!

There probably should be a stop on the dial to make for a more user friendly device. Mine has different size dots, not lines. But you are correct, the smallest line/dot lined up with the light is 8 watts and each click should raise it by 1.5 watts.

I have no issues on how it vapes. I think it is quite good. But I only use the lowest setting also. I removed the air screw completely and am using a nautilus tip, which has a wider bore than stock.

My dial has the dots also, but online I have seen them have lines and also ones with numbers.
How is your button assembly? Is it loose and slightly wiggly?
I am starting to obsess over mine. I am tempted to rip it apart to see if it can be tightened down.

My dial / firing assembly is a little loose, but I am not sure that you can tighten it up. I think it is just free floating by design.

I use various drip tips but usually smaller diameter for more intense flavor. My fave is an EMOW tip with a little silicone cap that I made from a red fiber optic protector cap to protect my teeth.

My dial seems firm but hates being rotated counter-clockwise. I learned, from countless broken Sony devices, that many of these micro-switches and assemblies are intricate, fragile, and non-maintainable weird designs.

I removed my air flow screw too. The eGrip is good about not leaking. Turning it upside down and vaping through the air holes to clear gurgles will give you a funny shock, though. LOL

I have 2 of them. The 2nd is a replacement.

The 1st has a firm dial -- the 2nd, is just like yours. [IMO] there's way too much wiggle room there. I don't think it's free floating by design.
1st has numbers around the dial -- 2nd just has a 20 & dots.
1st is a deep deep deep black -- 2nd is lite black (can't tell from pic but very noticeable in hand).
1st was full kit -- 2nd body only.

Also on the replacement the 'VW' under the dial is lower than the 1st I rec'd.

Yes, mine looks like number 2 (except wood). Same dial, same VW position, same dial looseness.
I contacted Joyetech, and they old me if it is loose that it was a manufacturing defect.
But if that is your replacement, I am thinking Joyetech might just send me the same thing again.

I saw one of these things yesterday at my vape shop. It's really cute and tiny. And it's cleverly designed too! I almost wanted to buy one. The only thing that prevented me from opening up my wallet was that it uses pre-built heads, and I'm not sure I ever want to pay that much for resistances again. Also, I have enough vaping hardware as it is. But boy did I try to find a reason to buy it :)

If it could be rebuilt, I'd buy it in a jiffy though...

"Rebuilt" ...Not sure that I would want to. "Modify"...Def can get with that!

I took a coil down and can see part of the problem. Inside the outer can is pretty much an old style Kanger dual coil with a bit of wicking material wrapped around it. If none of the juice holes happen to line up with the overlap of the wicking, you might have a good feeder. I removed the 1" x 1/4" strip of wicking and replaced it with a couple of wraps of 400 SS mesh.

That got me an immediate improvement in flavor and vapor density and maybe another click or two before dry hitting. It's still a bit limited by the old fashioned coils, but I like it a lot.

After I meditate on the steps to take for a while, I think I will cut off the old Kanger style saddle, slip a vertical chimney coil into the outer can and try that. (or Joyetech could do it for us) The outer can is actually wider than an Aspire BVC, so there is plenty of room to fill it up with goodness.

My eGrip lasted a week. The USB port wasn't attached well inside the mod & detached when I inserted the charging cable. I'm still waiting on Joyetech to give me a return authorization - man, they're slow. I had several issues with it, so I'm happy to get a replacement. I pulled that long, heavy drip-tip off & used a shorter titanium DT. It doesn't sound like it would make much difference, but the e-Grip felt much more balanced. Now, just waiting.....

Bummer! I will be careful about charging mine from now on.

Everything seems to be slowing down. I think USPS has hired their requisite coterie of dyslexic seasonal employees, if the packages that I have orbiting the city and country are any indication. That's just the ones that they are bothering to scan. "Hmm..."Vapes"...rhymes with "drapes"...It's sunny in Arizona! Send it to Tucson!"
