Speaking with nothing to back up my opinion. ..
i would think that as long as any connection points or threads are clean and clear there would be no difference. The patina only changes the exposed surface of the metal. Most mods have thick enough tube that even if you thinned it half way it wouldn't change voltage.
Thanks Ace.. I read somewhere that the patina would cause that..
but I did not see how it could.. I am thinking on doing up my astro..
not sure yet, but it is a happy thought..

If you ever want to remove a patina, you can take off the clear coat with acetone, and then soak the mod in a mixture of vinegar and salt. It will come right off in about an hour or so without you even having to scrub it off.
patina is just a lil "copper rust" on the outside covered in clearcoat ... The copper thickness and inside of the tubes are not effected if done properly.
I have not noticed any difference on mine... Voltmeter still reads 4.2v (+/- .05) at the 510 on a fresh battery...
Of course, I am not pushing the sub-ohm limits below 0.1ohms either ...
Patina, regardless if forced or formed over decades, does not extend beyond a couple of microns into the metal. As stated, clean the actual contact areas...anywhere where metal touches metal and you will be fine.
