Mine are blue, if they have changed it's news to me. The 20R's have a little more amperage but less capacity than the 25R's.

Blue, like a robin's egg blue. If you notice..some of those in your photos say 20R,not 25R.

The green ones are usually 20R, the blue should be the 25R. But, wraps can be changed or just a bad white balance in the photography.

Here's my 25R's:

Interesting, I wonder what difference there is between the 93's and 73's besides the wrapper?
Edit: Just looked at the Akkuteile page for them (green) and below the listing they also show it in blue with an end # of 2D92. Perhaps it's something as simple as what plant they were manufactured in, IDK.

@Spiralnebel and @Lefty That's exactly where i was looking when I saw those at Akkuteile.de. And every time someone ever mentioned them before, the pics were always the robin blue color, and then i saw the ones on there were green so was unsure... Also looked for efest 35A and 30A purple ones and the LG HE2 ones but they are sold out atm. Thanks guys for the help.

Hmm. I checked that site and yeah, they have both color pics for the 25R...so IDK. Maybe it's battery pull or something?

I've bought from Ebay and TriangleVape before, both were the same blue. The pic that I posted, depicted ones from Ebay seller "genuinecells".

They also have a website: http://www.genuinecells.com/shop/

I think i have the solution..
Intaste.de, one of the most respected and high end vape shops stated, that Samsung now produces them only in green!
and this shop is definitively trustworthy.

@BornInBlood Thanks, I didn't think to look at other .de sites. But yeah intaste is a good site I have ordered from them before, some of their bases and flavors for diy. Thanks, I was just wondering because i only ever saw them in blue aside from that akkuteile.de is a good site for batteries when they have them instock. I first ordered from them my Panasonic NCR18650B's for my Vamo when i started vaping.

No Problem! Happy to help!
BTW: For German customers shipping is free on orders above 20€. Just got 4 Samsung 25Rs for 26,40€.
Sadly batts are the only vape thing quite cheap in GER.

The blue one and the green one have the same battery performance, but for the blue color is more popular and the green is a new color, the price differ.

You can check the official statement about INR18650-25R tube color changing from Samsung SDI. The source is fromwww.tomobattery.com

I just got a green one that came packaged with my new mod. The performance doesn't seem to be quite as good as the blues I already own, but that is a highly subjective observation. I have only had it for a few days, and it has only gone through 2 charge cycles. I have NO empirical data to support that it doesn't perform as well as the blue ones. This is simply an observation, and I will be trying to keep better track over the next couple weeks to see if I'm right. I'll also try to remember to update here with any new info I find.

When I got my green ones, I didn't think they performed as well as the blues either. But after about a dozen charge cycles, they're up to par with the blues. But I did order blue wraps for them, just.... because.....lol!

Ahhh ... so maybe there is a "break in" period with them? Thanks for the info!

I worried about the performance at first. Not bad, by a long shot. But the "clone thing" came to mind, and I wondered why they'd get rid of the signature blue and go with Sony green. But they came from Liion Wholesale, so I know they're authentic. They're good, gonna order a few more.

I was a little worried about the "clone thing" too, but the shop where I bought the kit SWEARS that they are authentics. I suppose their distributor could have lied to them, but I suspect that is unlikely.

Oh, forgot to mention, I was going to pick up some extras when I ordered the kit, but found the LG HG2s on sale for about $6 so I got them instead. I really like them so far, but have to see how well they hold up compared to my tried and true 25Rs.

I'd thought about trying a couple of those too, everyone here seems to like them, and if it weren't for this forum I'd know jack about buying batteries. I'm the juice girl, ask me anything about recipes and flavors, even a few mods and atties, but batteries? Nada.....I come here for expert advice. ;)

I have received both colors. From what I have heard they are the same. Some online stores sell both at the same time and say they are basically the same. Hate to change up though - consistency is good and the blue color was distinctive. One thing I do know at this point, if you have the choice of colors, don't pay more for green cause you aren't getting more.

LOL ... I come here for the same expert advice! I have read a LOT of good reviews on the LGs, and a couple of the high end vapor shops in my area sell them (for a LOT more than online BTW), and everyone I have personally talked to swears by them, some even claim they are better than the Sonys, but that is a subjective opinion.

So far, my experience with them is the same as everyone else, the real question is how long they will last. My 25Rs have gone about 8 months and still perform like a champ, while my AWs (verified authentic) barely made it 9 months before I had to replace them. I'll have a better idea in about 8.5 months if they are as good as everyone claims ... :D

I found a battery review site earlier (can't seem to find it now though) that says Samsung has changed the chemistry slightly between the blue and green. The slight change does not affect performance, but does increase charge cycles. If I can find that link again, I'll post it here.

I read that same review, or a similar one. The one I read says that on a theoretical basis the cycles have improved, you basically need to be managing use like a PhD to achieve it so from a vaping perspective it sounded like a wash. So, maybe you get a couple extra cycles if you are careful. To me that means basically same and don't pay more for one over the other.

When the manufacturers talk about cycle count, they are extremely tough on the cells. They take one cycle to be from 4.2V all the way down to 2.5V under load for the 25R. That's something we would never do. It's possible in a mech to get them that low but it would be a very disappointing Vape.

I could be wrong, but if they've managed to improve cycle count under such harsh conditions then maybe we will see even more of a benefit. It's also entirely possible that the changes add robustness to the cell under those very harsh conditions and so won't benefit us at all.

Fasttech have dropped the price of the green 25R to match the blue recently. I definitely agree that it's not worth paying extra for the green version. Very soon the blue will start to become rare and eventually run out. Saying that though I bet there's a huge amount of stock being held of 25R so we may still see the blue version for a while, especially in stores with slower stock turnover.

To be honest, and it's a little thing, I preferred the blue wrap over the green one. It's what differentiated it from the Sony VTC4/5 ... it was easy to tell them apart.

I see where you're coming from. Having a lot of cells it may get a little confusing. Up close though they're distinctly different. The Sony have a more matt finish and a different shade of green.

Perfect excuse to get some clear wraps, some magazine clippings and make some battery art :)

LOL! Now that is a great idea, if only I weren't so lazy ... ;)

sammy 25R2(blue) sammy 25R5 (green) same specs , different battery chemistry . green 25R5 have an improved cycle life . blue cells drop to 60% capacity (1500mah) at 250 charge -discharge cycles. green ones only drop to about 85% after 250 cycles

I just got some 25R from Lightning vapes last week and they're green, very very similar green to Sony VCT4 but the Samsung are just a little lighter milkier
green. I had to mark them so I can tell the difference.
