10 second off safety

I have the following question. The past few months I took up a preference for vaping. A question I have is what battery doesn't have or has a longer battery auto switch off? So far two variable voltage batteries went down to 8 seconds. It blocks ergonomical use of the e-cigarette.

What kind of battery? Are you not getting enough vapor?

I posted a picture as I think Ego is an odd name for an e-smoke battery.

8 seconds cut off steals the vape just before inhaling.

Statement: "8 seconds cut off steals the vape just before inhaling."

Reply: "Are you pressing the button for 8 seconds before trying to take a puff?"

The reply is pertinent - the statement implies this is happening .

I run into the same issue since I’m a fan of longer puffs. Devices with 10 second cut offs just don’t cut it for me (sorry about that pun). I often need at least 15 seconds and sometimes longer.

The longest cutoff in an affordably-priced regulated device I’ve come across is the Innokin SVD 2.0. It has a whopping 24 second cutoff. That, plus the fact that it has an authentic Evolv DNA 20 board, has made it a real treat to use since I got it a couple of weeks ago. It’s priced pretty well at about $80 to $90 depending on where you get it. I expect there will be some sales on it over the holidays that will bring the price lower. I plan on getting another one.

There are other devices with longer cutoffs but they tend to be the pricier ones. Provari’s have a 16 second cutoff (both the 2.5 and the 3.0). The 3.0 is outrageously priced for the features; the 2.5 is more reasonable, especially if you get one from their “blemished” section.

Any authentic Evolv DNA device, such as the DNA30 or DNA40 will have a cut off in the close to 20 second range. A lot of mods use the authentic DNA with prices ranging from decent (Vapor Shark) to way up there (Vapor Flask).

Of course, you can always go the mechanical mod route which won’t cut off until you take your finger off the switch. Those are very simple devices but require a lot more knowledge about how to use them properly versus a regulated device.

Thank you Fad and hazozita.

@D mattheus - What I was trying to determine is what technique you are using to vape. The reason that the batteries cut off is to prevent them from continuously firing in a pocket or purse if something depresses the button. It is a feature that prevents your battery from getting completely drained in your pocket. All of the regulated mods and most batteries will do this.

If you are pressing the button for 8 seconds before inhaling to let the coil warm up, reduce that to only 1 second. If you want to take a puff longer than the battery cut off, simply release the button and press it again (very quickly) in the middle of your puff. That will give you 16 seconds of puff. You can get a 24 second puff if you do the button click thing a second time.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that if you need more than eight seconds to get a proper hit of vapor, maybe you need better gear. Seriously, that sounds kind of rediculous.

Even with the 15 sec cut-off (I think) on the provari V2 my hits seldom go longer than 8 seconds to get plenty of vapor and flavor ..but I do believe in using the right build that heats up instantly..the build in my R91 is 26g at 1.0 ohms and vapes great around 3.7-3.8 v....no long hit needed...

From my experience some people call those newbie or throw away batteries, because they're only good for about 300 charge cycles and thrown away..its usually what people new to vaping use, like I did when I first started ... But as one progresses through the learning curve and continuing to vape they opt for a better PVD with a removable, rechargeable battery with much better performance and features..
Actually I started off with a batt like yours called the Spinner, which also was a throw away, had a 8 second cut-off and I really didn't like it much, but it started me on my vaping journey which now has turned into my vaping hobby, and I enjoy it a lot more than when I was smoking those nasty cigs..lol

That looks like the itasteV2 I started with. I would hold it for 6 seconds and release and hold again until I was happy with it.
