Thats what i experienced. I´not shure if this atomizer is capable of more, when a fused clapton or alien wire did not result in juicy steam and amazing flavour. Maybe some testing gives some better results. i dont give up for now. My next try will be a raised coil, closer to the top.

I think I'm the only one so far who prefers the Nano's air flow. It could be that I need to install my coil a bit higher or something. I've only had two builds in it. Other than that I agree with everything I've read here.
I prefer Zeus af, but Nano flavor. To be fair, really haven't played with Zeus much. Still on my first coil, wish my grubs would get here!

I wicked it several times, each time with a different coil in slightly different position and still did not find my sweet spot. The OBS has a wider airflow and thicker clouds, no matter what coil, so i totally agree.

I got a tip to simply use 26 Kanthal twisted coils.
I gave them 7 wraps of 3 mm, spaced them a bit. It has .75 Ohms wicked with a scottish roll and it finally has saturated steam and really good flavour.

I also left the legs longer so the middle of the coil sits about at the top air hole and almost all the air hits the coil from below.

Fire it on 38 Watts, but still adjusting a bit to see how much the wick can handle without a dry hit.

By the way the coil fits perfecly from hole to hole. And it sits a little diagonal between the wicking channels.

The Zeus arrived today. Here are my first impressions. Threw in a spaced 3mm 7-wrap 2x28g/40g SS fused Clapton wrapped counterclockwise. The coil leads lined up with the post holes perfectly. Came out to .50Ω. Getting the coil in was a bit tricky but I went ahead and set the top of the coil about even with the top air hole as @Clapton suggested. Wicked it with a standard KGD pad.

The airflow is extremely smooth and the flavor is quite nice. I wasn't that fond of the large 810 drip tip so I swapped it for the 510 DT and the adapter that came with the tank. Very nice option. Fully opened, the Zeus has a little less airflow than the OBS Nano and the Ammit 25 with either drip tip. The airflow is pretty much right where I like it, although some people might prefer more.

Flavor wise, I was using an Ammit 25 on this mod before swapping it for the Zeus. I threw in the same eliquid I had in the Ammit 25. The Ammit does seem to have slightly better flavor, but it has a different coil (triple-core fused Clapton in the Ammit vs. dual-core Clapton in the Zeus). The Zeus does have a noticeably softer throat hit, which I love. Importantly, this Zeus is brand new. It still needs to break in and I haven't found my ideal build for it. I can't compare the flavor with my OBS Nano because the ejuice is completely different. So far, I'm very pleased. It's also working perfectly in temp control, which is all I use.

I´d still prefer the AMMIT 25 flavour wise, maybe just because of the harder hit.
But the ZEUS is on the right way. Keep us informed about improvements and your experience ;)
The ZEUS with the taste of the AMMIT would be my absolute Star but maybe ZEUS is too "well-mannered" Just like : :lion:

For myself, the Zeus will not be replacing my Nanos but will be joining them in daily rotation. I'm coming to the conclusion that I will be using different builds in each. In Zeus larger id coils definitely.
Agree the Zeus will not be replacing my OBS Engine Nano, I like the Zeus but in my opinion the Nano is better, but the Zeus will be in daily rotation for sure, I've had the Zeus for two weeks now 20171211_132028.jpg

Zeus is good, but not better than Nano for me. Do like the af in Zeus better, and flavor is getting closer to the Nano. I just love my Nanos. Have recently added a gifted Crius 2 to the rotation as well. Another great single coil rta. Flavor is very good on it as well. Will probably pick up another.

I am so glad that you are liking the Crius ll- I was biting my nails hoping you would love that tank as much as I do!
Oh and I love the Zeus and my Nanos too!

I thought it might be worth experimenting with coil diameter on the Zeus. My first coil was a 316L .50Ω 3mm 7-wrap fused Clapton. It worked nicely with no leaks, flooding, dry hits or gurgling. Using the same roll of Clapton wire (28gx2/40g from Advanced Vape Supply) I made a 3.5mm 6-wrap coil that came out at 49Ω. I wanted to get about the same resistance so I went down one wrap. The same wire, with nearly the same resistance, just a slightly bigger diameter. I did thin out the wick a little on one side because it looked looked like it might choke the channel.

It actually does seem to have more flavor now. It's looking like this tank works better with larger coils. It didn't affect the airflow and there seems to be enough room to go up to 4mm. I'm thinking about throwing in a 4mm 7-wrap 4-core 30gx4/40g fused Clapton next.

Love this place.

Took a second look at this thing this morning, watched a few videos, hemmed and hawed over it and figured I'd go ahead and head on over to VU to ask a few questions. Lo and behold, top thread in the RTA/RDA section, much discussion. Questions answered.

So I'll probably be pulling the trigger on this today. Looks like I'll be getting an OBS Engine, too, in the near future. That gunmetal is too damn sexy.

Wait until you see it, definitely sexy. Looks great on a silver/gray Therion.

So after trying about 20 different coils setups, using both Kanthal/SS and regular/fused clapton wire, and trying multiple height positions..I finally tapped out on the Zeus by PIF'ing to a friend.

I really wanted to like it, and in some respects I did. Zero leakage in the 2 weeks I had it. Best/easiest top cap system for refills and that scored major points with me for being hassle free. Smoothest air flow out of any tank I've ever tried...but which is probably also it's worst enemy since that was my top suspect on why the flavor just wasn't there (aka: the extra distance the design has it traveling). Keeping in mind it wasn't like the flavor was "bad" or anything, but I just didn't find it good enough comparatively to either my Ijoy Exo or Serpant SMM tanks. Which it would of had to replace to stay in rotation.

The flavor just would never pop for me. For instance I have an Apple Crumble type recipe I make and that has a hint of Ina Biscut in the backround that I would pick up on the other 2, but not on the Zeus. Fruits were a little more muted, desert vapes were a touch more bland, ect ect.

All in all probably more suited imo to people that vape at higher watts then I do (anywhere between 30 and 45W), and which otherwise caters more to the tanks strength of holding a fairly massive type coil aimed more at clouds then complex DIY flavor combos.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. Hope the rest of you are enjoying it.

Everytime i buid a new coil in, i am a step further but never compareble to the Ammit, Illusion TFV8 or even OBS Engine. Always "dry and thin vapor" and not as saturated as in the others.
It is frustrating but the handling and comfort with this thing is still great... (except screwing the deck in the right orientation to get the logo in the right place :wait: )

Flavor improves considerably if you use the provided 510.

Kinda like using the drip tip as a choke? You're talking about the tip, right?

Curious, I've been sitting and watching it cross the ocean (SLOWLY) to get to me, interested in trying to get ideas of what kinks to be on the look out for.

Talking about the 510 drip tip and adapter they include. You will have 3 dt options. Installed is a sleeve dt, another is an 810, and the 510. Using 510 improves flavor, so does closing off some of the af. I prefer a larger coil, 3.5-4mm, with Zeus but some are getting good results with a .25mm. Any smaller you may have flooding, or maybe not; I haven't tested it with a smaller coil.

A .25mm coil is very tiny!

this really was a huge step forward... strange because the limitation in diameter is actually the top cap, no matter what tip you use o_O
Not really, the af posts are your only real limitation. While the base af is generally a waste you can set your coil lower and get good flavor.

So, after about a month of enjoying this Zeus, today it's started flooding when I refill, and I do mean flooding!

Everything seems screwed together tightly (I haven't opened it to re-wick since Friday), but on my last 2 fills, by the time I've got the top cap replaced, the tank I just filled 30 seconds ago is about 20% empty, and if I turn the unit upside down, juice literally pours out the drip tip.

WTF am I missing here?

Mine only did that once. I rewicked and it was fine.

What juices have you been vaping with and what is the condition of the seal on the cap, I wonder if that has deteriorated in any way.

All of my current juices are high VG from DSV Creations.

I also thought of the cap seal at first, but looking at it, I'm not sure how a deteriorated seal in that location could cause flooding of the coil; the bayonet mount for the cap would prevent juice from flowing down the chimney. Mine looks like new in any case.

I'm sure Letitia9 solved this for me with that mention about wicking. My Zeus is back to normal after a new wick.

Grubs finally came. Installed a 4mm 7 wrap framed staple from AVS. Pretty tasty, warmer vape than my norm, enjoying it.

Nice. Never tried their framed staple coils. Gonna have to look into those. I have a 4mm 6? wrap spaced 4x30g/40g SS fused clapton from AVS in the Zeus. It's been in for a couple of weeks and working great. I'm also used to a cooler vape so I stick with TC. The vapor seems to be softer in the Zeus compared to other RTAs. It isn't as defined as the Engine Nano or the Ammit 25, but it has a pillowy feel that I really dig.

So begins day three of Zeus trials. This thing is excellent. Functional and fashionable, just the way I like 'em. Welcome to the rotation, Zeus, get comfy 'cause I think you're going to be here for a while.

Well I'm having a little different experience then some in here on coil diameters. Currently running a quad core fused clapton 28gX4/30g SS with a 4mm ID and I'm finding that a smaller 3mm ID Parallel Clapton tasted better. I'm also finding that Cotton bacon v2 tastes great in this RTA vs the Kendo Gold, which has been lackluster at best for me in this tank. Of course your mileage may vary.

I also can't stress enough how much proper wicking is important on this tank when it comes to flavor. The first time I ever wicked this tank I found the flavor very muted, and this was with a longer wick touching the base of the tank. I rewicked it, but this time cut the tails so that they were flush with the bottom of the channel and the taste was now excellent. It seems this tank is very dependant on the build, but when built right it is an awesome tank.

I love the airflow and I've never had it leak, regardless of the way it was wicked. I also dig the media blasted finish which reminds me of my provari days lol.

I've wondered if this RTA would have performed better if Geekvape had made the holes are the top of the "screen" smaller than the holes on the bottom. That would have forced more air toward the larger holes on the bottom for more direct airflow to the coil.

Or maybe just left the top row or two of holes off completely?

I dunno... the rough design just looked like it had so much potential, but decided to pass once I saw close-ups of the "screen".

Zeus is still part of my daily tools, but its also still not my favorite flavourwise.
I´ve tried everything imaginable and the taste is good but not as good as i expected compared to some other RTA´s (AMMIT, MANTA, ENGINE).
I like the look and the leakproof design very much i bet the ZEUS 2 will be developed 2018 and it will be much better

I agree. Still love the af but dialing in flavor is a bit of a challenge. Much better since I went with a 4mm coil. Using a 510 dt helps considerably as well. I think it might be better if they had skipped the bottom af entirely and gone with side only. Nanos are still the rta's I reach for more often.

I owned OBS Engine Nano for quite some time and just received my gunmetal Zeus RTA. So far OBS is a great tank only one big mistake they made: the positive post is press fit. After some time, the post wobbles a bit and start shorting at it gasket. The ohm jumps up and down. Then one day the positive post just pop off and I saw the gasket was burnt at one side near the copper post. That's why it shorting sometime and I can see bubbles came out around the gasket when firing. Zeus in my opinion more solid with positive post tightened to the copper using threads. I really like the easy way of filling OBS, so simple. I notice the problem start to occurs when my coil is around 0.8ohm above. OBS is very good with a simple micro coil, never got a better taste with fancy coils.

I have various builds in my Nanos currently. Two have tri core fc, one has a twisted wire build, another has a parallel build; all are 3mm. Nano has been daily drivers since their release and have had no issues from my positive post in any of them. Enjoyed using the Zeus and can recommend it but the Nano suits my style of vaping much better. Still think the Zeus af is the smoothest and sexist out there.

I tried twisted two core Kanthal and SS 3mm 6 or 7 wraps but the taste a bit muted compared to micro contact coil 2.5mm or 3mm 6 wraps produced better taste and cloud. I don't know where I go wrong... Zeus just a bit pain to install coil because of cramp space and need to pre-cut coil legs to exact height
