So my dad has an ego. He's saying that it actually makes him want to smoke more. Anyone else had this issue, any advice on how to overcome? Or is he screwed?

My solution to everything vaping related is get more vape. Maybe more dense vape would help. Or maybe not.

Someone else told me that. He had some little vaporizer, who knows what it was, and he told me when he puffed on it it just made him want a cigarette. I think you actually have to want to quit stinkies for vaping to work for you. If your hearts not in it, I can see how vaping nicotine would just make you want to follow that up with another stinkie.

Flavor, Finding a flavor that is more enjoyable than what stinkies provide. That's what I remember about converting, sometimes the vape flavor was so bad, harsh, dirty that I wanted a nice smooth clean flavor of a cig. I ordered a sample pack of juices from Heartlandvapes and each day tried a different one until I found ones that were better flavor than cigs. At first it was cinnamon red hot, so hot it burned my tongue. Everything else just was without taste or tasted burnt. Now that I'm smoke free my taste buds are coming back and I now enjoy most of the fruits and creams flavors and I don't have any desire to smoke again.

Very true. I was a 50/50 vaper/smoker until I found flavors I liked.

What does he have on the business end of his eGo?

And what is the nicotine level of the liquid he is using?

The more info we have to work with the better we can help?

Yes Vaporchaos like UncleRJ says we need more info than just he has an ego. If you get that to us I'm sure we can help find him his way out.

It helps to have a good atomizer that is easy to use and the juice that hits the spot.
I didn't quit analogs until I got a juice that tasted like a good tobacco. The food flavors were interesting but did not help me with the craving to smoke.
We make more flavor extracts now, including teas and fruits but I still prefer the real tobaccos after smoking for 40 years.
You might try the real tobacco flavors. I vape the Cowboy all day with a tank of Turkish once or twice a week.

I agree, I needed a flavor that satisfied me, and more importantly, I needed more vapor than the ego provided. Once I was able to feel and see the cloud of vapor I was producing, it helped tell my mind that I was getting something I wanted and needed. NET style tobaccos juices have an extra chemical that heavy smokers really crave. Give one of them a shot. I have heard that Real Extract is Seattle is tasty and does the job. Also Smug juice has some really good bacco flavors as well.

I totaly agree. Back when I started vaping there were only cig-alikes. Low power, low
vaper and high priced. I told myself I can never smoke again and I'm going to make this thing work. It was tough but after a while you get used to vaping and smoking will make you feel like ass.

Did he stop cigs completely and switch to vaping?
If so, he probably just wants a cig more because he misses them.

Cigs are more then just simple nicotine. It's also how it feels in your throat and lungs. Plus, it's habit, the longer you do it, the harder it is to break. I remember wanting a cig when I first switched to my first vape thing, a little stick battery like the one you posted. Went out for my lunch break at work and the first thing I wanted to do was light up a cig. It was what I was used to doing every day for over 10 years. Took a bit of time to get over that desire and now, a few months after starting vaping, I can't stand the smell of cig smoke.

I'm starting to wonder if the original poster is still with us on this thread, but if so I'll give it a go. This very thing also happened to me when I first started vaping, and to be honest, almost caused me to give it up completely. FOR ME the trick was to get the right equipment and the right juice. The cig-a-likes just did not do it for me, however, when I discovered the VV Ego battery with a Viv Nova tank with 18mg Cappuccino flavored Ejuice I knew at that point making the switch was a real possibility. So, my suggestion to you would be to take your dad to a good vape store that allows you to taste juices. Have him try them till he stops and says, oh yeah, I like that. Buy some and if he is a Heavy Smoker get him 24mg. If he is at or less than a pack a day get 18mg. Add the juice to a fresh, good, easy, type of tank or clear-o and put that on a VV ego for him. Adjust the voltage to give him good vapor, taste, and throat hit. All of this is cheap and it it works for him may end up being the best investment you ever made. Just my 2 cents. BTW .. I have no means to believe this is the case with your Father, however, there are some people that like the thought of switching to vaping but truthfully are not ready to commit. These folks, unfortunately, may never really make the switch.

Sorry for the delay, thank you for all the responses.

To be specific he has am ego ce4. He thinks the nicotine level is too high. He's also said it feels like something is missing, and mentioned the mouth piece, I'm guessing because it does not feel a cigarette.

The "craving" when vaping can come from two things in my personal experience.
1 Not enough cloud.
2 Not enough nicotine.

The mental aspect is the cloud. Mentally, it is part of the satisfaction of smoking. We don't just "feel" the nic rush, we see the cloud (we SEE something related to smoking).

If he "craves" a smoke, as in needs more nicotine, he isn't getting enough. When he feels like this, he will start vaping harder and with more frequency. If that's not the case, then it is a craving for old habits, not a craving for nic.

Airflow is important IMO too. Going from EVODs to a Krangertech Aero V2 with a 2 puff drip tip (with the air hole) made a BIG difference for me.
