Hi all! My name is Maxx (yes there is 2 x's in my legal name and no i'm not trying to be 'edgy') and i just signed up today. Im here to introduce myself and my problem with my vape. I have a Stick V8 baby and whenever i plug it in to charge, the fire button blinks 5 times while the red charging indicator light stays on, but about after 10 seconds, the red light under the charging port just blinks repeatedly until i take the charging cable out, and doesn't charge the battery in the device. This has been happening since early October. I know that this is not a problem with the tank/coil because i have changed the coil, cleaned the tank and both atomizers, made sure the atomizers were in place correctly, and used my tank in friends mods, and they have all worked. Also, i have used different cords and power sources and even tried cleaning out some lint and dirt from the port but nothing works. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this problem or how it can be resolved. Thanks!

Hi Maxx welcome aboard

What wallplug are you using to plug the usb into? Might be a problem with it have you tried a different plug?

Just guessing here, but perhaps the mod is ready for "file 13". They are made in China and their quality control leaves something to be desired. I have had several mods die on me, some lasted quite a while before biting the dust, some were relatively new.

Of all of the China manufactured mods, I have had the best results from the Innokin brand. I won't buy certain brands anymore due to them being junk in my opinion. Many will disagree but I wouldn't take anything made by Eleaf if it were given to me, same for IPV. I have had bad luck with SMOK, although I did win a G150 about a month ago, and so far so good.

Cool thanks has the tank ever leaked and did you get juice into the port or 510 at any point or over the fire button?

Is the usb wonky on the battery section?

Has it ever been dropped?

it has leaked a bit in my bag once but nothing too drastic. there was juice on the 510 and on both atomizers but i cleaned them and then they worked again, but then a month later is when i started facing this issue

the USB fits perfectly and doesnt move around too much where it can be concerning

it has never been dropped

One last one sorry forgot to ask has fire button ever been an issue with sticking or auto firing? It might have reduced to a point where the battery is refusing to accept a charge

If it’s only leaked once could have got a bit of juice inside which could cause an issue but didn’t sound to severe from the way you described it

Might be worth returning it from where you purchased it to be honest .....see an awful lot of my V8 stick is not working lately

Sorry you’ve run through everything else I can think of unless anyone else can think of anything

Yes the button has stuck many times and kept firing. I took it to my local vape shop and asked them about it and they said that it wouldnt be an issue (which i didnt trust at all but whatever). Very rarely, it would just be in my pocket and without the button being pressed or any pressure on the vape itself, it would fire automatically.

they also said that if i just flick the vape itself a bit and shake it around it would fix the problem, which didnt fix anything at all. Sooner or later i discovered that my best bet was to hold down the button, but put more pressure on the right side of the button so it would slide a bit to the right, so i was pushing the button down and to the right to reduce the firing problem, which still did happen sometimes but happened alot less

Try a quick sharp blow into 510 to see if juice starts coming out from the button ....ordinarily I wouldn’t say try this but it’s not working anyway so worth a shot if it does wipe away any excess and make sure to clean the 510 with some cloth after

Sticky fire button is a defect enough to return it either way don’t take any bullshit on this bit they just don’t want to refund you ...assuming it’s still in warranty ;)

Damn sorry Maxx I’m out of ideas at this point and you are outside of warranty by sounds of it :(

Might need to shop for something new maybe unless anyone else comes up with something I’ve overlooked ....choose another brand as well you’ll be able to use the tank so could just buy a mod or replacement stick perhaps

Welcome Maxx.

I had issues with my smok stick v8 too, at least your's lasted a while. I'll second whodat's suggestion of Innokin.

Just out of curiosity what coil did you put in it?

Hello Maxx. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I was much more confidant in my gear when I switched to 18650 mods. I prefer dual battery mods, but there are many great single battery devices out there if you don't want the added weight of a dual.

Lots badmouth Sigeleis too, but I've had terrific good luck with them. But I agree about Innokin; not everything they make is a winner, but they do seem to have more outstanding products and fewer dogs than most of the others.
