Looking for an RTA

Hey everyone,
I tried a friends RTA for the first time and am interested in purchasing one to learn how to wick my own coils. I wouldn't want to build the coil itself but just wick the cotton. Any good beginner tanks in mind capable of high wattage and user friendly? I would be using it on my Smok G150, currently running the big baby beast but since it came in a kit it doesn't have the RBA section :( looks like I need a whole new tank.

Did you like the one your friend has? Get one of those.

You can order the rba head for BBB separately. Worth ordering, flavor is much better with rba. Pre-built coils from Advanced Vape Supply are great quality coils.

I've heard that you need a taller glass to accommodate for the size of the RBA deck and the one that comes with the kit is designed for the original baby beast not the big baby so therefore it doesn't work out...

The BBB does need taller glass that will come with rba head if you order the kit and not just rba. OP stated he has the BBB.

The only kit that my local shops cary, include the RBA deck and the glass extension for the baby but not the BBB. I don't know where I would get my hands on the extension for the BBB, starting to think I'm better off investing in an RTA.

I've been looking at the Vandy Vape Kylin RTA, although I don't know the second thing about builds or these products; just looking for a reliable easy to use RTA to learn on. Should I go for the Kylin? Any suggestions?

Kylin has a steeper learning curve for wicking from what I've read. Also many complain of leaking. I personally would go for the Kensei. Take a look at the Freemax Fireluke, nice rba head and I'm liking the drop in coil.

I've been vaping on candy vapes govad RTA for 2 weeks and im in love with it. Easiest deck I have in my collection to build on with the spring loaded clamps so not too fiddly and I recommend any beginner builder to look at a review on this. Good luck dude

The first rta I bought was the serpent smm - single coil and very easy to build. Comes with 3 coils. I now have two of them and they’re my favourite. The obs engine nano is also an easy single coil rta

My recommendations for single are Engine Nano, GeekVape Zeus, and OBS Crius 2. Single coil rtas are my daily drivers. Was gifted the Fireluke and do enjoy it, looking forward to giving the rba a go. Just have to find the thread.:D

Thanks for all the replies! I will definitely check some of these out, I just don't want to have to buy another after so I wanna make sure I get the right one that will last and I can build some decent stuff on once I get past the learning curve.

I'd recommend the obs engine nano, merlin mini & serpent mini.
I wouldn't get the Kylin, mine always pissed juice out the 510 pin and once it got inside one of my mods and fried the board.
They sent a replacement deck which didn't make a difference.
If your gonna get a dual coil check out the ijoy exo :)

RDTA does provide better flavor than a rta and is easier to wick. Just don't lay it on it's side. For me they are more of a stay at home option. Didn't like having them in my purse or pockets.

I have mine in my pocket most of the time but mine never get turned sideways in my pockets.

I'd try to pull mine out of my purse or pocket and find myself just holding the top cap. Lasted 2 days and was relegated to home use only. Hardly ever break them out anymore.

I wanna try one properly but I'm paying alot of stuff forward. I don't like having loads of vape gear as I hate clutter.
Don't understand why people get like 8 of each atty

I only get one of whatever I get. No need for a bunch of the same.

I've only got my one mod, meaning I take it with me everywhere. RTA is probably my best option.

I've narrowed it down, considering what is in stock at my local shop, these are my options:

-Vandy Vape Govad RTA

-Vandy Vape Kylin RTA

-Vandy Vape Berserker MTL RTA

-Vandy Vape Kensei 24 RTA (new product)

Any opinions or suggestions are greatly appreciated, let me know which one I should get as my first RBA! I feel like if I get a single coil deck I'm going to want a dual later on, so maybe I should go for a dual?

Also, id like to push a fairly high wattage not sure if that makes a difference in making a decision. I'm thinking 80-100w

Well you can't use the Berserker at 100 watts cos it's an MTL RTA.

The Kylin is good but had issues with mine.

Can't speak for the rest.

My favourite dual coil atty is the Ijoy exo.

Sorry I can't help

Is it somewhat easy to build on?

I have the Zeus RTA and in my opinion. It's a little tricky to wick. I have a decent amount of experience with RTAs.....its what I use exclusively. I would recommend the ammit 25 single coil RTA. It's easy to mount a coil in and very easy to wick. Either way you decided to go I would recommend using a single coil RTA to learn on because you don't have to worry about getting two coils to glow evenly or getting the cotton just right for 2 coils. It's just a bit easier in my opinion to start off with a single coil RTA. Good luck

I'll take that into consideration, thanks :) although my shop doesn't stock the Ammit... only the RTAs that I listed a few posts ago

My answer is still, single coil Zeus, dual coil Kensei. Have you watched the reviews for your listed rtas? You could get a better idea what you may or may not like about them by taking a look.

lol I have 4 Nanos and would like a couple more. The chimney is press fitted and if an o ring or anything warps it can't be replaced or fixed.

I didn't actually find it hard to build or wick.
I find the Advken Manta worse cos the juice channels are tiny and I agree with them that starting on a single coil would be easier. I actually prefer single coils though. I used dual for ages then went single :)

I wouldn't get rid of my nanos ;) it vapes perfectly at 30 watts with airflow closed down. Was fucking hard for me to find them though cos of TPD!

I'm enjoying the Merlin Mini too as well and also got a serpent mini. I'm on a single coil kick and my dual are in the drawer

Thanks everyone! It's definitely between the Zeus and the Kensei so far, I'll watch some reviews and try and decide lol. You've all been a great help :)

I've tried both and thought the Zeus was better but it's hard for me to comment since I don't own either yet!

Yeah, the Kensei is beautiful but I think I should start with the Zeus, looks much simpler.

If you want high wattage 80-100 watts, you need a dual coil RTA. Go with VandyVape, Kensei I see would be easiest to wick

If you decide to order online insead of buy local, check out the Ijoy Exo, great high wattage capability and super easy wicking

I think I might end up going with the Kensei... any leaking reports with it? Last thing I need :/

Does that have a juice flow control? It looks like it does, If it does, then even if you mess up wicking and don't use Enough cotton, or dont make a barrier between the juice holes and the bottom of the deck, which would lead to leaking, just close off the juice flow between puffs until you can get in there to fix it
