One time I got a stern warning because I quoted the facebook advertising rules and it just so happened that the word "bong" was in it. A) I was obviously not talking about drugs so why even waste my time bothering me like that and B) if they don't want the word "bong" posted why not just block it like they block the word vapingundeground instead of wasting my time bothering me about such a trivial little bit of bs? I have so many ecf stories I could write a book about it. Oh, wait . . .
The most striking thing to me about "over there" is the sheer number of mods and admin staff they have. Good grief.

Well that's the problem. When you have that many mods, they need something to do to justify their existence, therefore they make up reasons to harass the members. Same thing when you have too many policemen patrolling, then more people get arrested for trivial little things because they just need something to do. I wasn't there one week before some mod was harassing me about some crazy bs, accusing me of having two profiles, even wanting to email me at my personal non-ecf related account to talk about it. I was like, why are you BOTHERING me. Your forum isn't the entire world and I have other things to do.
I browsed around a bit before choosing a vape forum. For what it's worth, this site was #1 in my search results. I read through some threads "over there" and wasn't impressed. As someone who also does web design, I didn't care for their layout, either. Mods set the tone for any online community. I've seen it happen dozens of times over the years:
Cliques destroy forums. Sometimes a group of like-minded people splinter off and create their own boards, or people just trickle out slowly and the place dies a slow, painful death. Mods who are jerks drive more people away than the members they supposedly police. But, I digress. I'm glad I made the right choice and came here. I probably wouldn't last long there, either.
