Efest Batteries

So, I have a Pulse BF , and I didn't know what batteries to get ...
I knew that Efest batteries were just plain bad...
But then I stumbled upon the Efest 20700 batteries I was curious...
I saw that mooch tested them and the batteries were honest about the ratings, and actually rewraps of the Ijoy 20700's... So, I got them... They have worked great so far, even when my fucking dipshit friend screw on a 0.04 coil... so, happy so far...

Today I has chilling at the vape shop... They litteraly have a couch there and we hang out...
I told them about the batteries and they said that any Efest battery , even ijoy rewraps shouldn't be trusted
I told them about the the mooch test and they said that mooch has done many mistakes in the past, and that he may have been paid for the good review...

They seemed concerned... They even went as far as to say that I put my life on the line with these batteries....

So, are they right? I'm I doing something dangerous ? NOTE that I usually vape on a 0.17ohm... Never below 0.12

Thanks and advance to anyone that read all of this and replied

Mooch always says that the particular re-wraps he tested were ok or not.
But says that anything can be under a re-wrap at any time.
Might be a 20 amp cell labelled as 30 amps or a 10 amp cell labelled as 30 amps or more.

And to only buy vaping batteries from a known trusted source such as the main 3 he lists.
There ARE counterfeit wraps of batteries that look like Genuine, Sony, LG, etc....
Do NOT buy vape batteries from Ebay, amazon, etc.

Tell them they're full of shit and haven't a fucking clue of what they're talking about. Mooch is one of, if not the most valuable asset the Vape community has. He's honest and does not take bribes, facts are he's on their hit list for his honest and professional testing. He's been testing batteries professionally years before vaping even came around.

Fucking idiots!

That tells me not to believe anything they say.
They are just shills and expect everyone else to be as well....

Mooch is a trained expert on LI batteries and is NOT a shill.

Stick only with Mooch's recommended batteries and stay within the CDR he rates them at. If you do this you will be fine, I also highly recommend you watch his YouTube videos.

You used good judgment asking here, VU is a great source of information.

Mooch is professional.
Heck even if he was getting paid to test batteries I would trust his test results.
He deals 99% in facts not opinions.

I trust him more than any vape reviewer.
Heck Mooch does not even do battery unboxings :D

For the Efest 20700 the battery under the wrap proved to be exactly the same as that for the Ijoy 5-legged 20700 and others (EBAT/Ampking/EnerCig) at the time when Mooch tested them, as they all are rewraps of the exact same battery, which is the Molicel 20700. For now, the rewrap companies can't easily change what's under the wrap for this particular battery. There simply is no 20700 battery out there right now that has about the same mAh capacity and that doesn't look visibly different enough for people to be able to spot the difference so, because a trusted supplier/source can't be trusted if they don't at least visually inspect the batteries they get before they sell them to you, if you decide to buy these rewraps they should be relatively safe enough, at least for now. In addition, if one of these rewrap companies suddenly changes what's under the wrap for this battery, then I'm pretty confident Mooch will let us know about that soon after. And especially Efest are extremely well aware of this fact, as they've already learned their lesson from Mooch, and they appear to have learned their lesson well. Finally, for reasons that are completely obvious, a supplier/source can't be trusted if they make bold accusations about Mooch without also backing up those accusations. So please take my advice and go to that vape shop... look under their couch. Next, if they ask you why you moved their couch, then answer: "I was hoping to find your dignity back."

His opinions are just as valuable to me as all the hard data he gives us. They may be pretty strong opinions at times, but I like well-informed, strong opinions much better than some repetitive online pinhead's ridiculous fantasies.

My two cents for what it is worth?

Efest has a bad rep for a reason.

Mooch has a GREAT Rep for a reason.

The Efest batteries that Mooch tested came from one batch of Efest batteries.

And he found them to be good.

What about other batches of Efest?

Can you be sure they are the exact same battery that Mooch did his Voodoo on?

Or a re-wrapped Trustfire?

Just saying..............................

Speaking of Mooch... I believe he just started his own channel! Last I heard he had one video posted. Time for me to go sub.

I hate painting anything (or anyONE) with a wide brush, but it's my experience that most shop workers have no interest in learning from the lowly naive customer. I had a brief (but highly unprofessional) disagreement with a kid yesterday. I can't remember exactly how he backed his claim, but I do recall his claim that his i2 model nitecore (I have two of them) was a faster charger than the nitecore SC2 I was buying.

Hmm in retrospect I really shouldn't have bought the charger. Not (only) because I got fucked on the price, but more so because there's a store owner out there that feels it's okay for that numpty to be giving out battery advice. If I had to bet I'd reckon the shop owner ain't much better in the knowledge department. The fact that they only carried re-wraps was telling.

Yes, in the specific case of the Molicel INR-20700A rewrapped by Ijoy/Efest/EBAT/Ampking/EnerCig you can be sure enough they are the exact same battery that Mooch did his Voodoo on, at least for now. That's because there is still no other 5-legged 20700 battery out there so if they did decide to switch the battery under the wrap the difference would be so clear it would just be a dead giveaway, and, in case of doubt you can still contact the [trusted] battery vendor to investigate what you buy.

The main problem with rewraps is twofold: in the 18650 battery ballcamp, there's so many different 18650 batteries out there you can't rule out the possibility they will switch the battery under the wrap without people noticing right away, as many different 18650 batteries look visibly identical to each other, and, in addition, most rewrap batteries often come with a higher price tag and perform less when compared to their non-rewrap counterpart, the latter typically being widely available to us, which then brings us to the question of "why should we pay more for less".

I hear you and I tend to agree.

That being said, as a matter of principle, I am just not gonna buy batteries from Efest, Trustfire or the like.

I stick with brands that I can feel I can trust!

Trust is often just a subjective thing. There's so many fake LG HG2 batteries out there, I would actually even feel safer getting the Efest 20700 instead of that one, but I already own 6× Ijoy 5-legged 20700 batteries so I don't have to worry about getting Efests.

I also avoid eFest, any company that'll rewrap 10a batteries and label them at 40a can't be trusted. Which BTW were previously 15a batteries, they switched.

I will not buy any rewraps. One reason I have no current interest in the 20/21xxx batteries.

You need to unwrap the batteries & bake them for 45 minutes at 350°.
They'll be fine then.

In my experience people at vape shops like to think they know everything. Or they give you distorted information to sell you what they have.

While charging you 2-3x what you can get the stuff for on the internet.

Back on topic: I've never trusted a rewrapper -- they can change whatever cell they're using under the wrap at any moment and keep lying about the CDR/MAh rating.
