Hello I am new to vaping I have started just over 2 months ago and quit 25+ years of smoking habit.. I have vaporesso revenger with NRG tank so far don't have any issues with it actually I really liked the revenger mod. I have tried vaporesso coils that came with the kit, eleaf coils and smok v8 baby x4 coils. I use max vg juice that has no extra sweetener in it. I run the mod at 50w
Vaporesso coils died in 2 days
Eleaf coils like 4-5 max but loses flavour ofter first day
Smok coils lasts max 5 days but same issue loses flavour ofter first day or 2

Not a chain vaper, I vape like 4ml a day, I do prime each coil

My question is am I doing something wrong about coil life time and losing flavour?

And what would be good choice of alternative subohm tank for revenger that could have better coil life time and flavour? (btw not into RTA or dripping)

Thanks

The only thing your doing wrong is not learning how to make your own coils. Which is quite simple really. Watch some videos. Factory coils cost big bucks, handmade coils cost pennies, and last for months, just replace the wick.

Doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. I havent used any of the tanks you have. The ones I have used I could get 2 weeks sometimes more out of them, but they are older tanks and I do not even know if they still make coils for them. Every brand of coil is different, and they are different one form the next. Even though I said I could get 2 weeks out of a coil, there would be times I would get a day or two out of one sometimes.
Coil are all mass produced and the quality can vary a good bit form one coil to the next.

The juice you use can effect it alot
IN GENERAL....
clearer juices will help a coil last longer
dark juices will kill a coil quicker

The only thing I can think of is if you are vaping the tank dry. Then you could be burning out the coil or the cotton

Another thought, use a pin and poke holes in the cotton where the juice enters the coil. some of that cotton is packed really tight and doesn't allow for optimal juice flow through it, the pin holes can help alot

Thanks

I don't let juice to go below 1/2 of tank.

Any tank recommendations for revenger?
Have only NRG tank that came with the kit

Well, it's not the latest and greatest tank on the planet, but my favorite for flavor is the Aspire Clieto (not the 120). The coils usually last me between 1 1/2 to 2 weeks and they can be had for around $20 if you shop around a bit. From the sound of it you'd be looking at the .4 ohm coils for your vaping style, they have a wattage range of 40 to 60w. One down side is small juice capacity, only 3.5ml. But that can be remedied with a "fat boy" glass tube that increases capacity to 5ml. Another downside is narrow wattage range on their coils, .2 ohm - 55-70w, .27ohm - 40 - 55w, .4ohm - 40-60w and then newer .25ohm stainless steel coils run 55-70w. But if you don't see yourself vaping much past 50w, the Clieto is a solid dependable tank. Easy to maintain, and a solid performer. Just my thoughts.

If you like the NRG, I'd go along with...
learning how to make your own coils, last for months, just replace the wick.
If your going to buy another tank, get an RTA. Lots come with a coil already made and maybe even cotton, which is cheap. If it doesn't come with a coil, you can get a premade.
Find a coil that will work for you in the NRG, like a BB Q2 or T6 and you'll have that tank and, an RTA to get started w/o having to invest all at once on the rest of what you'll need to get and know for your RTA, which like said - is easy. You can re-wick faster than you can chase down an oem coil.
Looks like the NRG is 26.5 dia and a lot of RTA's are 24-25mm so you could run it on the mod you have.

No. You can use an RTA style tank on your Revenger mod.

Oh ok got it. I have only one mod for now when I am ready to buy another mod I will get it with RTA then

But so far crown 3 is doing awesome job! Flavor so intense!! I have strawberry and tangerine flavoured juice and I have never tasted it this intense before... Awesome!

For the clouds... NRG was better in clouds

the original crown 1 was great and probably one of the best tanks of all time, the problem became with their coils not being made consistently and several bum batchesso as long as you get good coils the crowns are normally great

The Crown 3 isn't meant for clouds. It's meant as a flavour tank. Even at 80-100 watts the clouds don't compare to something like tfv12. You'd get more clouds on the tfv12 at 80 watts than 80 on crown 3 but the crown 3 has better flavour.
I've found alot of the cloud chasing tanks compromise on flavour. The best way to blow big clouds but get good favour is go with a RDA or RDTA

After 24 hours vaping with Crown 3 flavor is still very intense at 70w and cloud is alot more now don't know why it happened

Dripping is out of question because of my work I drive big rig for long hours so dripping is kind of impossible for me.

But since I am in a buying mood which rta tank would you recommend or wait for UWELL to come up with a RBA?

Saw geekvape zeus when I was buying this crown 3 it looks good but don't know anything about rebuilding stuff yet...

I'm sure you'll get a lot of recommendations on RTA's and RBA's.
I drive also and I like having a tank, such as RTA.
I can't help you with RBA's with anything other than what I've seen and read.
For single coil RTA the OBS Engine Nano is easy to build/wick, really good flavor and clouds. No leaking.

And I'm getting Kylin Mini that will be available in a week or 2, looks to be awesome.

It's cos the coil was breaking in. You'll get less vapor production and less flavour for a few tanks.
The cotton is packed in and it takes a while to saturate.
When I first got my cleito 120 I thought the clouds were pathetic but after a few tanks the cotton taste went away and vapor production was better.
Same case with all tanks but some coils don't take long to break in

OBS engine nano isn't the best flavor RTA. The flavour is muted cos of the top airflow and I tried the kylin V2 cos it was supposedly improved and it still leaked like fuck outta the 510 pin.
Once it got inside my tesla nano and fucked it up completely.

well i can tell you i used the original crown 1 and loved the flavor
the first rta i tried was the obs crius it had great flavor much like the crown but not quite as good
then i tried the griffin 22 even better and much easier to build on, it was comparable or superior to the crown
tried some others that i like and amny I didn't.
but my favorite, easy to use, best flavor, rta is the griffin 22,
i havent tried the newer griffin 25 or griffin aio but i have heard their flavor is comparble and just as easy to use. The griffin 25 mini is just as flavorable but the deck is a little more annoying to use.

for a single coil tank i love the ammit 22

whatever you get
for your first rta get one with a velocity deck if you go with a dual coil set up. these are the easiest to build on. the zeus is a little harder to build on. I find postless decks like the zeus to be annoying to build on.

I get good flavor from the Nano. You may have tried the Kylin V2 but I doubt you tried the Mini -
because it's not for sale yet.:kickbutt: Unless your implying it will leak like your V2 did.

No actually I misread your post. Didn't realise you were on about the Kylin Mini.
I'm just so fucking tired. And I'm not saying the nano had bad flavour but I have had better.
I've tried alot of RTA'S, RDA'S, RDTAS and tanks though.
I should really start doing reviews but I won't be one who gets sent free stuff.

If those are your only choices I'd pick up the Bellus or the Serpent. Bellus has better build quality but a bit of a learning curve. Serpent is pretty basic but may take a few times to get the wicking right. My personal favorite is the Engine Nano, I get excellent flavor from mine. Took a few builds to find the sweet spot but well worth the time.

Looks pretty good from this angle. Make sure the coils can't touch any of the chimney when you put it on.
Did you dry fire it for hot spots?

Before you wicked it it read .5ohms and now that your vaping it it reads .15?
Are the post screws good and tight? Could be the mod showing you diff ohms, maybe.
Perhaps someone will chime in here with something better on that.

Filling it with the air holes open would cause leaking. If that's the case you may be able to just clean it up a bit.

That's good, always double check screws. Anytime your resistance fluctuates or changes that much something isn't right and needs fixing. Hope you enjoy the rta.

I couldn't find anything concrete on what the stock coils read at, but .5 sounds right.

Might want to use a bit more cotton, should be tight enough to have some tension without distorting your coil and thin the tails a little bit as well. Be patient with yourself while learning to wick. I've learned it's not so frustrating if I just laugh and say well damn. Then do it again. Best to rewick until you get it right so you don't juice up your mod too much.
