Tank won't fully screw in

I need some help. I recently bought the ijoy capo 100 mod a couple months ago. When I first got it, I was having the same issue I'm having now. The tank would fully screw into the mod no problem but then after a couple weeks, it would stop just about to the end. A gap is barely visible between the tank and mod when this happens, and the tank will wobble in top. The mod will still fire, but the voltage is significantly less than what it used to get under the same settings. I've tried other tanks with the same mod and get the same results. The first time I had this issue, it was a couple days after I bought it, so I went to the same vape shop and they swapped it out for me. Not sure what to do now since it has been a couple of months since the exchange.

Sounds like you stripped the threads in your mod. FINGER tight only.

make sure the 510 pin of the atty is screwed in and its not loose and stopping the atty from screwing in
make sure there's no dirt in the 5100 connection of the mod
use a qtip or tooth pick or even a can of air

Question 1) what's the "atty"? And 2) how do check if its loose?

atty = tank - the thing you put your juice in
the screw looking part at the bottom it usually has a flat head slot in it turn it with a screw driver

you MIGHT find a 510 pin assembly on a DIY mod vendor site. Or sometimes, using a heatsink will work. Try cleaning and loosening the pin as Matt said as well.

The 510 plate (silver bit) is sitting proud and looks like it’s an angle suggest it’s not secured well underneath to me.

also I bet that positive pin (in the middle) doesnt have much throw to it (how far you can push it down) and what’s happening is the threading on the tank is a little too long for it and has pulled the plate out of position when it’s tightened right down probably because it’s a two piece design or something

Is that plate wobbling now?

I don’t own this mod just a hunch I could be wrong

Yes the plate does wobble
if your good at tearing stuff apart, fixing it and putting it back together, then thats whats needed
.
if your not, start shopping for a new mod,,, these things are low quality and built to be thrown away. if that is wobbling, then wires and solder joints could be broken or be about to break

In that case it’ll probably be a press fit underneath so as Matt said you can try to unscrew that top section and push the ring back on underneath and make it flush again (but remove battery first and try not to disturb any soldering when you do it)

Sadly I imagine if it loosened already it’ll go again for you :( you might be looking at a new peice of gear here

I have a capo too that was giving me wobbly tanks not long after I got it. I had to take the top off and the nut that holds the 510 pin had became loose. Sounds like u have same prob. I tighten it up but week later , tanks were wobbly again, alrighty then. I removed top again, nut was loose again, I tightened and then applied some blue loctite around the nut and no prob since. Hope the fix last and obviously I don't tighten the tanks down too tight on this one.

Would have been great if you took a pic of that lot at the time... nice fix :)

I’m having the same issue with my ijoy x3. I loved smok but decided to try the ijoy and hated it the first 2 days but now I prefer it over smok. However, the tank was fine at first and now I can’t get it off at all. A contributing factor, to being unable to get it off at all, is that the airflow just keep turning rather than stopping at a certain point. It’s starting to get more and more wobbly and is starting to have the error “no atomizer” ‍♀️ I’ve never had this issue with any of my other mods.
