Guess I should say my first successful build. Plenty of fails till I got it.
I first tried wrapping with 30 ga SS. Ha ha. So it's ok. Gotta start somewhere. I've just recently got fused clapton down pretty well. I bought some spool tamer's that help the wrapping. I still can't get them as good as the videos on YouTube but tamer's help a lot. Of course now if you get into aliens the tamer's are out but great for single and fused claptons. Now how about those massive coils raymo2u posted just up above. Damn I wouldn't even know where to start. I guess taking the wire off the spool then I'm lost.

Here is my first build. All kanthal ohm out at .10 it takes forever to cool down like I can't hit it 2 - 3 times after hitting the fire button. Need to get some nichrome or SS to wrap from what I been reading..View attachment 101978

What gauges are those to ohm out so low?
Edit: I go with 3 or 4 28 guage cores, it's about the best middleground for my vaping style without a long cool down, nothing like n80 or SS but best I can do!

Edit again: I also stretch my 28 cores pretty far when I straighten them, so they're really more between 28 and 29 awg

It’s a stunning RDA Raymo saw the deck on your Instagram yesterday the black version is really nice! Congrats :)

I’d like to know when the other bits are coming out the swivels I’ve got are horseshit, will it have ceramic bearings?

Anything to make the building process easier I’m up for haha
Its in the works but not yet finished....the one he saw on Instagram was made by @justvapor....
The thing is I would need 5 people who wanted it and then do a group buy essentially since hes in the uk and shipping would not be cheap and the are $35 each.
The one Im working on isnt a bearing setup...just a adjustable swivel mount with swiss army knife functions lol.

Ran out of 28g and 36g wires and I'm running low on those gauge decores as well :( got a couple of nice fraliens out of it though, 10, 12 and 14 ply. Didn't want to try the stitched fralien as I don't have any more wire for frames atm. So @mach1ne I'll let you know about the different ply sizes and tightness of the end wraps on the stitched fralien when I get my next order in. For now though..... STICKS! haha

What kinda ohms do framed staple aliens do? With like 0.3 wire, give me a roundabout idea please, I'm gonna order some wire next weekend and ribbon is on the list

I haven't got the foggiest idea haha these were my first ones I've achieved cleanly and I'm yet to load them up. Gonna rinse out my pyro and throw the 14 ply one in there with some DIY juice that's just about steeped. I'll let you know what that comes out to when I set It up soon. Mine are all ss316l so it will be low ohms no doubt

I don't build much of claptons. This is the first clapton try in over a year. I did mess up on one of the end of the coils.
Build: Kanthal A-1 28g core/28g [email protected], 35w-40w .65/.67ohm it jumps. Hex screws are very tight. Council of vapor Wraith & Dead Rabbit rda, Jam Monster Grape.

Kudos on using 28 to wrap. I tried learning with 30 and it was too thick. Got some 36 and it's good to go now. Nice build you have

I would say that a 28g wrap, although it is easier to see, will add alot of heat to your build when it hits max temp. It's also much easier to wrap thinner gauges of wire, to a certain degree. Nice and tidy though

2 vertical coils out of the same wire? Nice work man, never tried them myself. Let us know how they vape though :)

They taste okay, but I gotta warn you man, the dry hits are real harsh on these. I've had to turn my wattage way down to compensate. I usually vape at about 97 to 105 watts, I'm down to 67 right now.

Possibly because of the proximity of the 2 coils next to each other and air not easily able to travel through gap. Just a thought like

That one kinda hurts my eyes and makes me want to give up building...just kidding lmao :D

Hey, we have the same phone! Got a pink case on yours like I do? Haha
Lol.... That build got thrown away was only good for a wire shot. If I told you I keep 1 out of 20+build attempts a week would that make it better?

Nope on the case lol, glass screen protector and cheapo 10$ (black) case

Do you use a hand drill for that one JR? It’s the skipping bit how’s that done on a pneumatic, sorry I mean electric drill?

Also you know when you space clapton on ribbon how do you losen the wraps up, on round wire it just a case of reversing the drill for a bit I tried that on ribbon it just went the other way but didn’t losen anything apart from my patience slightly :D

No hand drill on that one, it's just 2 skip fused ssfc's. All done on cordless drill.

I'm afraid there is not (well none that I'm aware of) a way of loosening your stagger on ribbon. Your paraclap has to be perfect on ribbon.... With round wire if your doing a multi core sfc like that 6 core I posted you can just do weighted loop method since it requires your staggering to be free and move a little. Now say on round wire framed pitchforks I like to clapton thru clapton and glue the staggering to the core wire because you don't want it to move... Uhggg so many different ways of doing things and it's different for each build.

Those fraliens are awesome man. I've been away from building for a while. I would make some framed staple claptons whenever I needed new coils but other then that it's been a long time. I literally feel like I'm starting over, relearning everything again. Swivels I got now are kinda shit so im kinda stalled until my new one gets here. Decided to grab the Spin LT since all the swivels I got here are horrible... But yeah. Super excited to get back into all of this.. I forgot how much I loved it all.

Ah nice one la, I really appreciate it. Its become a kind of Obsession for me lol. As for swivels and such I started off with some cheap bb swivels from China on ebay and they worked well enough for me. I upgraded to an Abe bearing system and that seems to have helped with the twisting of the wire somewhat, hope to be seeing some of your builds here :)

I didn't make this wire, it's my favorite pre-made. I did add two wraps to it...gonna abuse my DPRO rda on my Noisy Cricket today
It's Howing brand, 3x(28/38), 0.44 ohms

Edit: Bad idea...not enough air of course :xD:

Yeah that looks pretty close to the air flow there. Finding it hot like that?

Sent from my MI MAX 2 using Tapatalk

Yeah it was super hot. Too close to the air holes, too wide coils, too thick coils, no room for air Anywhere, cooked my liquid.
I changed it to 5 wraps at 2.5mm, much better, Noisy Cricket is staying in the closet today, poor kid...

Actually 1mm or 2mm is fine.....

Sent from my Z981 using Tapatalk

Those coils were about 0.5mm from the air holes, air holes which are only 3mm in diameter, there was more coil not being touched by air than there was coil being touched, and on a series mod at 8 volts/150 watts, that just won't work. My cotton turned brown around the edges of the coil after two puffs

ss316l, 24g, 8 wrap@3mm 25w .43ohm single coil on the dead rabbit.
Best build i've made so far. But it seems I keep getting burnt hits no matter the less or more or perfect wicking. Lowered wattage, it just happens. It was happening on the build of kanthal a-1 26g, 5 [email protected] dual coil setup. Reason I tried this new single build.

Any suggestions? Its getting plenty juice. I've made clear of the squonking ports, I've tried combing the end wicking. I just don't know.

It burns the throat on exhale.

That top picture, looks like you got a hot leg. SS for me is prone to hot legs, especially with several wraps like 8, lots of people like to space their SS round wire coils, it can help

Make sure the coils are close and a little above the airflow slots. I had an issue with an rta where the air was hitting more of the top if the coil and I would soon get dry hits

It helped a lot, read below.

Solved the problem.

I thank you both. Two minds better than one.

Ok, I wanted to test out claptons. .94ohm each breaking down to .47ohm dual clapton 3mm 5 wraps @30w 3.76v. Clapton core and wrap unknown. Picked them up for a buck a piece, ruined one set trying to configure it right in the dead rabbit. Got it right on second try with a lot I mean a lot of finessing to get them to glow evenly etc, what a bitch.

Warmth and vapor is definitely there... Flavor is so dull. Should I pull them and go with my old configuration above post?

@hitti2 because of the added mass of wire there is with claptons and all sorts of other builds, you need airflow to be directed towards the coil as best you can. I don't own a dead rabbit but from what I've read online there's a few people out there who like to move their coils closer to the edge of the deck and a bit higher than usual so the airflow hits the coil better. As I say I'm not 100% sure how this would work as I don't own that RDA but I'm sure if you type into Google "best dead rabbit coil setup" you might come across threads on forums talking about that specific RDA. Hope you have better luck, claptons over round wire for flavour in my opinion, sucks that isn't the case for you atm though :/
