I started buying the disposable e-cigs at the local gas station, and using those in between packs of my Marboro Milds... Decided I like them, so I bought a couple of different rechargeable ones from the gas station and drug store. On June 15, 2012, I declared my quit date, and after work, until midnight, I chain smoked the rest of my pack of ciggies...
I had a buddy that was a month or so ahead of me, that had a mod with a tank and liked it. I decided that I didn't want to spend $100 bucks on that kind of setup, so continued on with my rechareable lil ciggie looking setup. At the end of the first 4 months, I realized I had spent $225 on throw away tips, not to mention I was frustrated by the short battery life, and having to carry 2-3 sets to get me through the day...
A friend of mine at work had found a guy at the local flea market that was selling ego clones. I decided to go visit the fellow at his store, and ended up with an ego clone that took 18650 batteries, also bought one of the DC tanks and a couple bottles of ejuice, in 24mg nicotine one in pomegranite/raspberry and the other in menthol.
A couple months later, I bought a lavatube clone and started using ViviNova tanks, with the replaceable wicks. Found the ECF forums and the vast world of ejuices online.
When the Smok Zmax came out, I bought one of those in SS with the extended cap, and several pairs of 18350 batteries, so I could crank up the voltage/wattage a bit. Only thing I didn't like about it was that it was just a hair too narrow and wobbled, didn't help that the edges of the bottom cap were rounded. I sanded and sanded to no avail...
Dropped my nic level down to 18 since I could crank this one up a bit more with the 2x18350 batteries...
Around my first vaperversary on June 15,2013, I bought one of the sigelei zmax v3 clones and started using Innokin iClear30 tanks, with the dual coils that gave a better vape than the ViviNova tanks. Better vapes, so I dropped my nic level down to 12...
Around October 2013, I found out when we renewed our benefits at work that beginning in 2015, they would be charging extra for smokers and ecigs were considered the same... Around Christmas time, I started ordering half 12mg and half 6mg nic level ejuices and mixing them, gradually weaning myself down to 6mg.
Around April 2014, my lil sigelei zmax gave out on me, so I bought a cool looking wooden xGun 18650 mod. It had about the same menu as the zmaxs, but wouldn't take the 2x18350 setup, and about halfway down the battery, the voltage no longer displayed correctly. I decided I could live with that, but about a month into it, the fire button began sticking, so back to the store it went, and was swapped out for another unit. About another 30 days later, same thing, sticking fire button so back to the store. I would like to thank Vaperite (https://www.vaperite.com/) for standing by their warranty! This time they let me swap out for an Innokin SVD.
On June 15, 2014, my second vaperversary, I decided to drop down to 3mg nicotine ejuice. I was quite surprised how much the drop effected me. I was cranky in nic withdrawl for about a week, but then again, this drop was half my normal level...
So a couple weeks ago, I decided that I really hadn't bought anything new, technology wise, in quite some time, and being that I was finally comfortable with 3mg nic ejuice, I decided to treat myself. I ordered a Pioneer4You Seven30 and a Kangertech AeroTank Giant, along with several 26650 batteries and a new 4 bay charger... Been diggin' on that with some of the sub-ohm (.8ohm) coils...
I never have done the coil rebuild, cloud chasing thing, but thinking about getting one of the Hades clone 26650 mods and a big 28.5-30mm tanks, and giving that a try... Who knows where it will lead me...
I am sure I will find too many toys next month with I goto the second anniversary VAPE-A-PALOOZA meet downtown at the Atlanta Airport Hilton next month... http://peachstatevapors.com/
