HIC's Girl Scout Samoas (aka Caramel deLites) recipe: The popular caramel, coconut, chocolate-striped shortbread cookies.

2% FA Cookie
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Caramel
1% FA Walnut *
1% FA Coconut
1% FA Chocolate
0.5% FA Cocoa
0.5% FA Butterscotch

(I have a version with less flavoring, but after you try this, you probably won't care.)

Shake and vape will give you the familiar flavor right away. But you must also let some sit for FA Walnut to work its magic.

* FA Walnut is not here for nutty flavoring. It's part of a combination of flavors I'm using to create tasty buttery effects (though these flavorings contain no diacetyl/subs). You'll notice the effect even when this is fresh-mixed, but a little time lets it develop fully.

Thank you for this HIC. I was actually going to PM you a long time ago with your thoughts on creating this!

Thank you for this HIC. I was actually going to PM you a long time ago with your thoughts on creating this!

I made and rejected so many versions over the past year. Walnut was the key to making shortbread cookie part the way I wanted it. I hope it's the cookie you've been looking for, too!

Good stuff Hic...I'm mixing in between cooking breaks...first time in a long time that I've had the time and materials to do it and I'm running out of tanks to vape on. I you and yours have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Your recipes have made diy fun and tasty. Now, if I can only keep up with all the flavors. Really enjoying this...thanks again!

Uh yeah...my favorite cookie of all time!

@kabalm18 it was your mention of Samoas (long ago, maybe even in that other forum) that got it on my list in the first place. I don't think I'd tried them before that, so I hope this vape meets your expectations!

HIC, I stalked you here from the other site. :)
This was the first complex (more than 3 flavors) mix I have made. It is incredible. My bank account is shrinking rapidly, and my collection of flavors is growing exponentially. I am close to having all of the FA flavors and it's all YOUR fault. Thank you!

The Samoas is right up my alley. The only drawback is that I have no idea how it tastes when it ages a bit, as I seems to suck it all down in a matter of just a couple of days. (oh, the crosses I must bear! :D )
I'll be assembling many more of your concoctions as time permits.

Looks good, will have to try your version. I'm not sure if I ever posted this one or not but made a similar Samoa Cookie not too long ago by request. Had a couple TFA substitutions in there for anyone that might not have all of HIC's flavors. FA Cocoa burns for me when I drip so had to find a substitute.

2% TFA Double Chocolate Clear
1% TFA Brown Sugar Extra
1% FA Caramel
1% TFA Caramel Candy (Contains Acetoin and Acetyl Propionyl)
0.5% FA Liquid Amber
0.25% TFA Acetyl Pyrazine
2% FA Coconut

I liked the addition of FA Liquid Amber when I added it in there for adding a kind of bakedness to the coconut. The AP worked here as a single drop in 15ml. I skipped on using any cookie here mainly because the combination of brown sugar and caramel for me worked perfect here to create that cookie feel without adding the cookie flavor.

When eating these I hardly even notice the shortbread base, but taste coconut, chocolate and caramel. Anyways, just thought I'd put the variation I'd been mixing out there for anyone that needs ingredients subbed.

Interesting. I'm sure HIC could have answered questions about substitutions on his own recipe.

Just a note that TFA Caramel Candy contains both Acetoin and acetyl propionyl: http://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/componentlist.aspx?sku_search=348178
I wouldn't normally point that out in someone else's recipe, but this thread starts with me writing, "these flavorings contain no diacetyl/subs"

I could but honestly labeling and whatnot is a pain for a deal like this.
I'd suggest visiting www.vapecrafter.com and you can DiY without any of the supplies ;-)

I think they came up with a pretty cool business idea but have no experience with their quality/service - and no comment on your specific recommendation of that company.

BUT

Knowing that a business is designed, in large part, to PROFIT from freely-shared recipes bothers me. It makes me and all others who post freely into a group of patsies.

I have never profited one penny off any of my recipes or mixing. I have intentionally *never* sold anything vape-related.
I encourage people to vape to avoid smoking - and to DIY in light of possible future regulation.
My recipes are posted solely with those goals in mind. I can't speak for others, but MY recipes are not here for someone else to profit.

Obviously, I have some thinking to do.

Yeah I can understand that for sure @HeadInClouds . I just like the idea that they're offering a super low price for the amount of liquid you can get and it's a great alternative for those that might want to DiY but don't have the space or time. I also see it being good for the average DiY'er that doesn't want to order a bunch more ingredients to try out a recipe. Might give them a chance to order from VC, try it out, and if they like the recipe, they can then turn around and order the ingredients to make it in bulk for themselves.

Also, I doubt everyone visiting there is just plugging in other peoples recipes, I'd venture to say that a lot of people randomly go there and plug in random numbers to try for themselves as an alternative to DiY.

Clearly they're designed to profit and you don't want people to profit off your work which is 100% understandable. I can tell you for a fact that I've seen a few of the recipes I've posted on Reddit and cross posted here re-sold by other online vendors and retail vendors. This is why I don't post my finished work for recipes that I intend to sell online. They are selling a lower quality version of my juice, or a recipe that just didn't make the cut for me.

Rest uneasy that there are lots of people profiting off your work. Not only local shops that surf the web for recipes for their house blends and the like, but also every re-seller of DiY supplies profits off your work when you use a flavor that a lot of people here don't have.

Edits, more stuff

This is it right here HIC this is all you can do man:) If it wasn't for you yourself I would be smoking without a doubt I never woulda made it. If you start worrying about everything else besides what is truly and obviously so rewarding for yourself, you're gonna go crazy instead of just being happy.
Be happy dude you deserve it.

HIC, please don't let the profiteers ruin your desire to share with us. I have had very little success with anything but single flavor juices, before trying your recipes. Between the homevape Peanut butter, Samoas, and white tic-tac, you are my go-to guy for new recipes. Your sharing is appreciated much more by us than you can possibly know. If it helps to swallow a potentially bitter pill, know that those profiteers who use your recipes, are helping others stay away from analogs too, they're just charging for the convenience of a quick transaction, so your goals are still being met. :)

(please don't stop sharing your wonderful creations!)

HIC, I mixed this a couple of days ago and just tried it tonight. OH MY GAWD I could not believe how rich and smooth this juice is. WOW. I have not been able to eat sweet things for years because I get very bad migraines from sugar,so to taste this just like I remember those cookies to be like is such a huge treat. THANK YOU SO MUCH !

I just made this this afternoon and popped it in the dripper for a quick taste. Half an hour later my daughter walked in from school and said 'oooh, mom, did you make a new vape - it smells like cookies!' LOL

This is THE vape to use when assisting someone converting from analogs. It's a staple for me now. as a side note, don't accidentally grab concord grape instead of coconut. If you do save it for a hard-up mooching vape-friend.

lol, ewww!

Having grabbed the wrong bottle a few times, I am now in the process of putting labels on the caps of all my flavorings

HIC This is a wonderful vape. I so enjoy the sutle chocolate, coconut and caramel creamy cookie goodness HIC. This is the first FA mix I have made and throughly impressed with how it turned out. Looks like some of the TFA and capella flavors I have will soon be collecting dust.

Same percentage should work just fine here. It'll be a little sweeter, but that's not a problem with cookies!

Well, I gathered up the stuff for this and what do you know, its awesome. I think instead of actually trying all your recipes and telling you they're good I'll just skip ahead and tell you they all rock! I mean seriously, have you ever posted a bad recipe? If you have I haven't found it yet.

I think one of my all time favorites of HIC'c is probably his toblerone. Something in it(the cocoa I suspect) scorches really bad in my dripper. Really sucks cause its so damn good. Occasionally I've just gotta do it it any way and just dry burn and rewick 4 or 5 times a day lol.

@HeadInClouds how would you feel if a person went to vapecrafter.com with this recipe and for the custom name used "HIC's Girl Scout Samoas" for the label? It would be the right thing to do at the very least.
I popped over to the site as I had never heard of the place until this thread. I don't see me ever using the site for myself as I am old school. Learn from others and share my better recipes like most everyone else here does.
Like with music making, exposure is second to getting paid, but you need exposure first. When we share online, we share with all kinds of people. I like to think only good people share here. Yeppers, I am sporting my blinders and rose colored glasses by choice.

I don't make allot of your recipes since I am slowly building my FA collection, but I have become a better mixer because you shared with us and all I can afford to pay you is with complements. Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work you do. .

IMO, one day in the foreseeable future, the regulatory hammer will drop, and people who have learned to DIY will have an enormous advantage, a way to bypass Big Tobacco and Overblown Gov't. Trying to increase the numbers of independent DIYers is a big part of my motivation. I'd like to demystify and take the fear out of DIY, which is why I hang out in a DIY forum. Anyone who wants to make any recipe can post in the DIY areas here and some VU member will help. There are a LOT of experienced, helpful DIYers here. Or they can PM someone if they're shy. It's easy, more flexible, faster, and cheaper than paying some service to do it for you.

I probably didn't answer your question, but those are my first thoughts.

And we all thank you for that. I cringe every time I see someone not abiding by your wishes when you ask them not to copy your recipes to other sites. Us DIYers need people like you. We truly appreciate all that you do for us. The revolt against BT and big government is a big part of why I started to DIY. It equals freedom in my book...

I agree too. I pushed myself into coil rebuilding even though I used to like BCC's only. I still prefer tanks over dripping except
for testing new mixes. Wick and coil making isn't nearly as much fun as whipping up a new e-liquid recipe.
What started as a cost-cutting motivation, DIY for me has become a hobby and I have enjoyed learning how to better my craft mostly from others here on this forum..

@HeadInClouds I made this, followed your directions to the t, it is awesome! (Not enough compliment in the word awesome) it's vape-abulous! (It to a word!)

I don't like chocolate vapes. Love chocolate just not in vapes. But this is great. I let a friend try it, he took my bottle with him when he left lol I will be making more!

Subbed TPA Butterscotch for FA, and imo it's too sweet, probably start with half if I use TPA again. FA Butterscotch is on the shopping list, as I have yet to regret replacing any of my other flavors with FA versions...

Yeah, FA's Butterscotch (and Caramel) are pretty different from all other brands I've tried.

If you took TFA Butterscotch (or Caramel Candy, for that matter) and stripped out most of the vanilla, nearly all of the cream, and some of the white-sugar flavor (and the "custard note" ingredients) you probably be close to the FA versions. That's why Vienna Cream is usually with those flavors when I use them.

Just whipped up my first HIC recipe! Too bad I have a dental operation tomorrow and probably won't get to test it out too much! All of my batteries just died and it's bedtime! Feel silly putting a ProTank 3 Mini on a 30 Watt (C) Hana. But, but, but, for science!

Well I think my Kanger Pro Tank 3 Mini needs a new something. Everything tastes like metal. I just put one of those air intake valves on it but the coil must be funky or something. I cleaned out my Subtank (big one) and it tastes pretty good in there, just a little weak on flavoring but I know you go light from what I have read. I just found a clean EVOD and filled it up and put on a EVOD2 battery and wow! This tastes amazing! Going to work in an hour or two and see if my friends who liked my Mother's Milk clone like this as much or want me to up the flavoring.

Do you suggest adding flavors by upping everything .5 or do you think some more accurate ratio would help? I am mixing 50/50 with 12mg presently. I think I read you do pure VG but I thought pure VG masked the flavor even more? I don't have Vaperstek Nic but I am not tasting a harshness in my EVOD but my Subtank is a bit rough (much more power and airflow.

An easy way to adjust flavor strength in any recipe: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/how-to-mix-small-batches-of-complex-recipes.1980/
Yes, you absolutely want to keep the ratios between flavors all the same, and that lets you do it. It would also be handy for you if you want to use different amount of flavoring in your various equipment - you wouldn't have to keep getting out all the flavorings this way.

I hope your dentist is kind to you today!

I made this up last night. Omg! It rocks! Although I had to sub the walnut out for fa mixed nuts because walnut was not in stock when I placed the order. I plan to get it when it comes back in stock to try this recipe the way it was writen.

I also mixed up some hic's lemon cream soda premix flavor from mama j's. Wow! Great! Kinda tastes like mello-yellow soda. Brought me back to my childhood. I live in PA now and we can't get Mello-yellow. Apparently it just a southern thing. I'm gonna add a little lime to it next time and see how it goes.
