The anti-vandal switch should be able to handle the amps but the wires guage is too thin for an unregulated mod. It looks like 22g or something. I'd have used 16g.

..maybe advisable to not go too low resistance.

Description:

This is a simple and very clean box mod. Hammond 1590b inclosure. Single 26650 battery sled which is 3D printed for optimum fit of battery. Solid 20 gauge wiring for low voltage drop. Stainless steel anti-vandal switch. Flush mount brass 510 connection. Hard hitting mech box mod. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS !

Well I do like 26650s.

They say hard hitting but the wires would get hot under those conditions. You really need to go as low as 1ohm on a mech to be drawing enough power from your battery to get a hit. I just looked and saw the aspire Atlantis offers coils as low as 0.5 so if you can get something a tad higher you should be safer. Just keep a watchful eye on it as you vape when you first get it.

Else can you rebuild? If so then any rba will suit it.

i can rebuild.. i like mine between .4 and .6 ;)
i do have some drippers..
might try the aspire out on one of my mechs.. just depends..

thanks Hobby.. not sure what I will do with this mod..
I rather be safe than sorry..

You might be ok if you don't go crazy low. Like I said, keep an eye on it the first few days and feel the wires. Perhaps get a resettable vape fuse if it'll fit if you're still unsure

You might be able to find an electronic repair shop to replace the wires with a heavier gauge.

you're right Unc, and that was my first thought and maybe fit a poly fuse. But then i thought it defeats the whole purpose of buying a mod and paying out.

if it came into my hands i'd pop a cheap little vamo board in there and on/off switch to switch between mech and regulated for running higher ohms. there's plenty of room for one

I don't know on putting a board on it.. I forgot all about the vv/vw's.. and not sure i want to play with those..
I do enjoy unregulateds.. and my drippers.. but with the sub ohm thang coming.. was hoping it could work with this..
they both should be here Monday..

omg, my mail man is so going to hate me, i know i have over 50 items, all coming by mail.. wee!!
but my Christmas shopping is done! :D

It's silly really. It makes no sense that whoever made it didn't use thicker guage wire. Maybe he began with a dna build and blew it lol.

Hahaha I do feel sorry for my postman sometimes. I buy a lot of all sorts of gear and clothes and wotnot off the world wide wobble. But I do tip him occasionally.

It's glue, holds the 510 in place. If you have any, even slight, background with electronics, get a 510 from www.fatdaddyvapes.com, go to the local hardware store and buy about 1 and half feet of 16 to 18 gauge solid copper wire(uncoated), just looks cooler, and go at it. It will be a lot easier than you think. By the time it's ready to use, you will be able to sub down to .2, or even lower, I don't personally because I think it's unsafe. By the way, the 3D printed battery sleighs are awesome. I have used them in 5 builds now and would use nothing else, perfect fit, and if you know the printer or can get a hold of one yourself, your imagination is your only limit.

I keep looking at those unregulated mod boxes. They run about 100 on ebay, and I would like to have one. But, I think I'd rather build my own. Just wish there was a kit with everything I wanted/needed that was priced right. Not paying 100 for a kit when built is 100.

100 bucks buys me another Sigelei. ;)

The guy does a couple of kits that are a little bit more than what you can get the parts separate for but you would probably have to order from two or three places. So you do save some time. Only thing I would add is the Fattdaddy adjustable 510.

There is if he hasn't sold out of them. Go on you tube and search find my vapes and he has instructional videos on how to build unregulated mechs, OKR box and DNA box mods. He has a sight where he sells kits with everything you need.

As someone stated, the connector is junk. Any decent builder would've used a fatdaddyvapes 510. Brass, fixed pin connectors are pure garbage.

I just had to say something. I don't know if you are aware but the fatdaddyvapes 510's are fairly new on the scene. What you call junk a lot of us have been successfully using for years. I personally have a mod I built 3 years ago with a brass 510 that still works and hits like new so unsure why you are badmouthing them. Did you have a bad experience with one?

All i can say is, i am enjoying my box mod.. looking for a dremel now, and want to do some etchings on it :)

and the 510.. i dont see any brass on mine.. bit lost there.. it's flush on the mod.. and havent had too many issues with changing out drippers.. works pretty good.. my battery lasts about a day and a half..

pretty sweet deal i found.. i am happy for now.. till some other eye candy comes by ;)

A connector with stainless steel threading and integral landing pad provides a much stronger physical connection and lateral support. The spring loaded positive pin allows for flush mounting of atty's to take advantage of the strong physical connection provided as well as providing a consistent electrical connection. Using a soft, fixed pin connector is understandable when it was the only option. Now that connector tech has advanced and better products are available for cheap, using the crap you were stuck with in the past is ridiculous. This all seems pretty obvious, so I'm not really sure what your point was. You were stuck with using inferior parts in the past. Now your not. What's the problem with pointing that out? Did you somehow think I was insulting people for not using parts in the past that weren't available at the time?

Yeah I'd just go on there and ask the same question in a few groups rather than searching fb for a modder. That way you'll hopefully get trusted recommendations

If you are only wanting to do engraving this is also an option. it is corded but is smaller.
http://www.harborfreight.com/rotary-tool-kit-80-pc-69451.html

Was planning on using it to expand my holes in my drippers too..
few other useful things.. but i do like that kit.. with the wally world dremel :p haha!!

our harbor freight is like on the other side of town.. but still it's a good price for those pieces..

Oggy, you are fantastic :)

Hard to tell in the bottom pic...but the inside of the box and lid were coated with commercial spray in bedliner like they use in pickup trucks. This provides thermal and contact protection.

He is currently building me a triple 18650 in the same size box. Yellow with red splatter....hand airbrushed hotdogs. It will be called the "Oscar Meyer Wiener #001" as a friendly jab at the "Mad Wiener" box lol.

Those dremels can be an addiction. They can be for me. Once I have to use one for something I start going round the place looking for things to buff up or saw!
