One day im going to get started on getting started building my own... just not today

Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

I used to say the same thing about making my own juice, lol. It always just seemed like more of a hassle than I was wanting to deal with at the time...not to mention I had @Mykreign enabling me by sending me juice he made and I’d send him Alien Coils I made, lol.
Finally, just made the plunge and I must say that if I’d have known then what I know now, I’d have probably geared my interest more towards juice making then coil building...but it doesn’t hurt having the ability to do both

Aye ive been meaning to start for about a year or so but its always easier to just buy a pack of coils you know. Otherwise id have to get a deck the wire the cotton or whatever an rda rta etc and all the little bits bobs and tools, aye hassle when its easier to just go on amazon and press buy it now. Im so lazy.

I have a PhD is Laziology, so, I know exactly what you mean. But now I do coil building just to pass the time when I get bored...I’ve said it before and it probably still holds true that if I was unable to vape anymore, you’d probably still see me sitting at a drill spinning out coils...idle hands, devils playthings and all that. Sometimes it seems like more of an addiction when I stop and look at what I’ve done or am doing, though...

Just had to point this out...one of my favorite things about making my own juice is the coil life I get nowadays...a coil of mine used to be lucky if it lasted 3-4 days before getting tossed, but I’ve had this one in since March 6th and it still looks like it did after first wicking it up...this is almost a personal record for longest lasting coil for me

Those look really nice. I never had alien coils. I always wondered how they got that wavy look on the outside.

No badge for me lol. Tommorow.

Single Core Clapton De-Cored, stretched out a bit, and then re-claptoned in reverse around 3 cores of the same size as the Single Core Clapton was made with. It sounds much harder and involved than it really is, lol.

Turns out the issue with the tracking was because they put the wrong delivery address on the tracker...so, my order actually did get delivered today...rather than my typical happy dance, I recreated the phone book scene from The Jerk

This is what I got:

Watermelon Candy-TFA
Watermelon-TFA
Watermelon-FA
Pineapple-TFA
Pineapple-FA
Pineapple-HS
Pineapple-SC
Marshmallow-FA
Koolada-TFA
Mint-INW
Double Chocolate (Clear)-TFA
Peppermint-FA
Whipped Cream-TFA
Creme De Menthe-FW
Meringue-FA
Milk Chocolate-INW
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream-CAP
Sweetener-TFA

I can only assume BCF has trained cheetahs and nascar drivers for their delivery staff rather than the untrained sloths and 100+ year old blue-hairs that Nic River has...luckily I’m not out of anything in the order I have coming from Nic River...just got low enough to order some to be sure I don’t run out.

Never put off till tomorrow what you can accomplish today. it's not as hard as some people make it seem, it's just time consuming to learn things that are a little harder like aliens. Once you get your first alien done though it all just sorta clicks and other things start getting easier as well. At least that was my experience.

Altered my No Coconut Tigers Blood a bit...knocked 1% off of TFA-Watermelon and FA-Watermelon so that I could add 2% TFA-Watermelon Candy, then took out the 1.5% TFA-Pineapple and used .75% of both HS-Pineapple and SC-Pineapple, then tossed in .2% Koolada. Going to have to either eliminate one of the Pineapples or cut them in half, as Pineapple seems to have taken over...not that the pineapple tastes bad, it’s just WAY stronger than using 1.5% TFA-Pineapple

I would say use 1% of one or the other, both are very strong. HS doesn't change much over time, SC smooths out with age. For HS is a snv with my grapes and SC is for the long steeps my oranges need.

So, I ran across a few bottles of juice I mixed up and forgot about, and the flavor in all of them has drastically improved. So, basically, it was an accidental steep, but was curious about if methods besides the most obvious (Time) are effective at all.
Most shortcut steeping methods are basically putting the bottle in hot water and I found others that involve burying the bottles in hot rice, some weird way of using a crockpot, and putting the bottles in some socks and tossing them into the clothes dryer for a spin.
Has anyone tried any of these methods and had them work to turn S&V juice into steeped juice without waiting days or weeks? It just seems like if those methods worked efficiently, there’d be no reason to use the time method.
Maybe if nothing else, using one of the shortcut methods could kick start the steeping process and shave time off how long to steep with the “time” method?
Just really enjoyed those flavors after steeping and I’m an impatient little bastard, lol, so, if anyone has tried any of the shortcut methods I mentioned or ones that I didn’t, I’m curious about if it’s just a waste of time to use a shortcut if I’m going to end up having to let it sit for days or weeks regardless.

Too much heat can cause flavors to change and make nicotine more harsh

The alcohol or other more volatile elements of flavorings need time to evaporate, oxidize, etc, and only time plus air can do that

I don't DIY my juice because I just don't have time to learn it atm. So take this with a grain of salt, that I've seen videos/read that a sonic cleaner will steep. If that's true, it would need to be a commercial version that can run for certain amount of time/hrs.

I actually came to this thread to see if anyone clones any flavors and/or sells their juice.

No man all of the supposed shortcuts that ive read about including some youve mentioned just do not work. Like others have said too much heat makes the flavours harsh and screws the nic. The only thing that ive seen work and do myself is just letting them sit for a while. Time, at least for now is the best tool for juice.
However saying that there are plenty of s+v recipes so you dobt need to run out of juice while others are steeping. Ive mixed about once a week for a while now and do about 200ml of different recipes each time. Means ive always got juices that have at least steeped for week each time.

Some swear by quick steeping and seem to be successful. I just don't feel the need to is the only reason I haven't tried any of them. The main thing to know is you have to keep juice below 150 I think.

Some of us try to clone flavors, but you'd probably have better luck finding the one you're looking for with http://e-liquid-recipes.com

Did some mixing yesterday.

Crunchy Berry Cupcake
Dragon Spear trying it with 1% INW dragonfruit instead
Some testers
Just Grape(WIP)
Pineapple Cream Cookies(WIP)
Floral Cream Soda(WIP) just working on the cream part.

I did find one there. It's Hannibal Nectar 2.0. I like VW's, but like said I don't diy and, I guess I'm feeling to cheap to buy it from VW. I just bought 570ml from 2 other companies for about $40+shipping. I don't know if I'm going to like the 2 flav's I got from Om as I've never tried theirs. @ $11.xx + ship for 2x120, it's prolly junk - don't know. But the other 330ml I know I like :)

In the beginning I tried most of these methods all due to impatience and a lack of satisfying juice. Eventually it gets to the point where you'll end up with so much juice you like that you just can't vape it fast enough. Then it's not an issue to let time do all the work. I've got 13 ADVs. I'll add and subtract to that as my tastes change, but of all of them, none require more than a week to steep. I might add that it helps I don't like custard/ice cream heavy recipes much.

I’ve never tried any heat steeping methods.....just good ole time for me. I’m impatient, too, but knowing that, I always have steeped juice on hand so I don’t have to get into stuff I just mixed.

Mixed up 3 testers of new recipes that either sounded interesting or gave me an idea for something else and then changed the pineapple on my Tigers Blood Recipe to balance out the stronger pineapple flavor I’m using...about to start trying these out as S&V’s to see how they do...

Oh yeah, and thank you to everyone for the inside info on these heat-steeping methods. I figured that it would probably be under the category “Too good to be true” because if you got the same results with fast heat-steeping, then there would be no reason to use a method requiring you to wait days or weeks to wait for it to steep, but I also figured the worst thing that could happen from asking is getting the knowledge that these are just gimmicks people have used with no real viable results...and knowing is half the battle! (I was raised on 80’s cartoons and couldn’t help myself from using a GI Joe reference right there)

I've been slacking & friggin ran out of essential flavors for my mixing. So made a BCF order last night & got done new stuff, too. It's been a while since I felt excited about mixing, but I seem to have gotten my MOJO back. Now I can't wait for my order to arrive!

I made 60ML of Sadlad Toast Crunch and Toasted. I won a couple of RTA's in contests. I can't put them down lol. I breezed right through both of my bottles with them.
The Digiflavor Themis is legit af. I really want to get the mesh version.
I'm also vaping Jungle Flavors Sweet Strawberry. I'm finally experiencing that "jammy" quality I've read about. JF Honeydew is a fantastic melon flavor too guys.

Guess I'm the black sheep on this one because I find heat steep to be very helpful and I do it to a lot of my juices. Now idk about things that need a long steep like cap VC v1 but I'm just saying I've found it to help kick start the process. Normally if I get a juice that's good but has some off notes to it I'll place the bottle in hot water (I never use water that's hotter then I get from the faucet) for 10-15 mins and shake it a couple times throughout the process. At the end of warming up I'll shake it like crazy until there's so many bubbles it's no longer transparent lol. Then I'll let it sit with the cap off until it's cooled off and all the bubbles are gone. I'll do that for 2-3 days in a row and that's about as long as I wait for any steep.

I think I now have definitive proof of how being lucky is better than being good.
When I got my first flavors in to start DIY’ing a couple weeks ago, I was trying to clone a peach/strawberry/pineapple flavor I used to buy. And it just kept seeming off, so, I would make a 10ml tester...drip it once, and when it didn’t hit the mark, I’d make a subtle change in percentages and I just rinsed and repeated and never really nailed the flavor. Well, one of those bottles was the one I ran across yesterday that I accidentally steeped and it has become amazing after the steeping, so, now all these bottles I kept on making subtle changes to have been accidentally steeped and they taste very close to the juice I’m cloning.
The TFA-Juicy Peach that was overpowering the rest of the flavors has mellowed out considerably and I would even say it’s not all that sweet anymore...it’s turned into more of a floral flavor than anything sugary or sweet. But either way, I just thought I’d share my story of good fortune on how some of my first DIY recipes that I thought were crap ending up accidentally being very good. Because I know a lot of folks have said that it’s worth it to steep, but I thought I’d be too impatient for it and was just going to find stuff that was S&V, but now that I know the end results of a good steep from experience, I’m definitely jumping on that bandwagon rather than just going for immediate gratification all the time

So I'm not liking super sweet at all and thinking of trying erythritol. Is anyone having luck with it?
Never hear of it. I can only handle one drop of super sweet per 10ML at most. I usually do a drop per 15. It can easily ruin everything. All I've tried is SS, TFA-Sweetener, and Cotton Candy/EM. I actually prefer Caps. Have you tried stevia? I'm curious how well it works.

When I started out, I had a similar situation. All my reading pointed to fruits don't really need to steep. I put some month old mix in my tank and was pleasantly surprised. It was peach too. But it was Caps Juicy Peach. I was on the verge of giving up at the time.

I hadn’t given up on DIY’ing entirely, but had pretty much written that off as a flavor that I either couldn’t match with the flavors I currently have, or maybe something that just couldn’t be cloned, or that it would be my “unicorn” flavor that most folks seem to have-something to chase and either never catch or takes a very long time to catch. But even the color of the juice itself has changed to match the original I’m trying to clone...it went from practically clear to this almost neon yellow color.

This is why when you test it can't really be in rapid succession. Make a tester and try it SnV if it's decent put it aside and try again in a few days, then again in a few more days (for me it's normally 3rd day, 7th day and 14th day.) Taking notes the whole time. I also do this same type of process when I get new flavors for single flavor testers.
This is a process that I think most mixers do especilly in the beginning so they have records of how different flavors played together over time at certain percentages.

I just recently got some CAP Super Sweet after reading a review that it doesnt taste artificial...but it is either "nothing" or straight aspartame. It's going on the pass along list :blech:
CAP Sugar Cookie and CAP V Custard are the kinds of sweet I look for

Marshmallow, EM, none of it...I can't stand aspartame or any of that fake sugar stuff

I don’t like stevia in any coffee or real food so doubt that I would like it in juice either.

For some reason peach always takes about four weeks to bloom and full flavor to come out

I mixed 15ml of Misty today and I'm vaping it now. It's extremely good. The smell alone of the Boysenberry is fantastic and the flavor is distinct and appealing. Thanks a million for showing me this.
No problem. I mix max VG, so I usually take it to 15-16%. I know when I first mixed it at his 12.25%, it was good for a week or two, but then faded considerably. It's a nice flavor though, huh?

The Boysenberry is very tasty. I made a test sample that I'll get to tomorrow. I have a recipe that is very similar to Misty and it's called Fookiberry. It's one of my absolute favorites.

It's the same person who came up with the Toasted recipe.

With the Misty the Fuji is at 2% and I find it to be too strong. I'll mix the next one at 1% and hopefully the Boysenberry will stand out more. I'm going to enjoy experimenting with this new flavor.
