I believe so but the only thing I have to go on is the bridge and RBA that come with the Sxk clone.

Thanks.....now I have to go dig thru the pile of unused/no longer loved stuff, I just know I have a couple of rbas....if not, there's always fleabay:headbang:

So, excuse the uninitiated, but what do I need to know about the BB? What bridges should I get ( I like rebuilding but not shy of using ready made coils), what are the plugs for? Is there a consensus as to which bridges are better (MTL or DL)...

I don't have much experience with the prebuilt coils other than the Kanger OCC (1.5ohm) but I found it too airy for MTL. If you want a proper MTL, then either the Vapeshell or the revised MTL Steam Tuners Insider would be your best bet. If you prefer DL, pretty much everything else should work fine, even the Vapeshell can easily be configured for DL vaping.

Thank you, I think you are right! It sounds like you like a rather tight draw for MTL, the same thing I like. Vapeshell it is....

So my understanding of the RBAs is this:

Steam Tuners Insider is MTL. Tightest of the bunch.. Easy to build, not so easy to wick..

Exocet is looser draw, but still can do MTL. Kayfun style build deck, easier to wick.

Someone else will have to comment on the Vapeshell and the Bastard Coil as I don't know much about them.

The Racing Bridge is popular and I believe that's for Kanger OCC coils.

There's another one for Nautilus Mini/Triton Mini coils but the name escapes me ATM.

You'll need an A Tank if you want to run Atlantis coils, and that's a Boro tank with a larger hole in the bottom for the coils to fit

It kind of felt good to empty my head that way...

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
The bastard coil is purpose built for vertical coils. Will allow 5mm coils for huge airflow. I've got a nice loose MTL using a 3mm coil though.

There's also the MF bridge for Vaporesso EUC coils. Add much as i like the idea of a pre built coil option none that I've seen allow you to vape your tank dry like i can with the insider. Juice holes are just too high up.

IMHO the insider is where it's at. If you've wicked a KFL you already know how to wick it :) i find it preferable over the exocet...

I still like the Insider as well, if the Vapeshell didn't exist, I definitely would have purchased the MTL version. Being able to convert it into a tank is a nice bonus too.

Yeah, they are very nice!
I'm still a little turned off on the BB if the user can not update firmware and change profiles....I just e-mailed them, let's see what they have to say.

I can sort of understand the price but if we were to split hairs, there is the Billet Box and the Billet Box-like. If they decide to shoehorn a DNA 75C in one....I'm after the "replay" feature. Yes, I know the 75C is a bit bigger than the 60, but never say never....I may just have to settle for a SXK DNA 60 for now unless the BB customer service replies with some positive news.

Hmmmm. If they moved up to a 21700 they might be able to fit a dna75 in there....

The dna60 is quite small... Hell i couldn't get a Pico squeeze board to fit in a BB (it's shorter but wider)

I kinda figured I shouldn't hold my breath while waiting for their reply....
Miracles do happen, afterall, they moved from the 18350 to the 18650, so I guess just wait and see.

Blast from the past here... From brand X:

BATTERY QUESTIONS

Q. What kind of batteries does The Billet Box use?
A. The Billet Box is designed to use 3.7 volt, AW ICR 123 / 16340 (Black w/silver label), protected, button-top batteries.
The use of unprotected batteries of any kind is NOT recommended.

Q. How long do those batteries last in the Billet Box?
A. Short answer: until they die.
Long answer: Most users report anywhere from 1/2 to a full day of vaping with a freshly charged pair of batteries and a 3.0 ohm cartomizer. Depending on your atomizer or cartomizer resistance and how you vape, YMMV.

**3.0 ohm... Holy shit... Fucking cartos...**
I remember when low resistance was 1.2ohm

My first "box" mod was the innokin MVP with a 1.8ohm iclear16 lol

Vaping that setup coming from using only ego batteries and 2.5 ohm cartos was a huge OMG moment for me, but since then, no matter how fancy, high tech or amazing of a device I had, I've never been able to recreate that same feeling of excitement.

@BrewBear

I posted about how to update the firmware via Escribe and how to obtain and use a temporary connection to the USB data/charging board via the Bonkers thread previously when that topic came up in that thread, two days ago. Maybe you had not seen it?

I am reposting some of that info here for visibility:

Those look great!

Did you print them yourself?

If so, are you taking any orders? price?

If not, where did you get them from?
I am printing them myself. I'm not taking orders right now, still working out the design but I'll have 25 in hand tomorrow and those will be out to a test group next week. Once all goes well and feedback is favorable I'll take orders.
Prices are not firm at this point but depending on materials and design panel/button sets will be $60+
Once I get further along I'll share more info here
:)

Also in design... The DryPlug :) ~$10

Coming soon :)

Oh HELL YES!

Count me in to order a few of these. Another group/person was selling something similar, IIRC it was called the DampfPlug or something like that, but they are not for sale any more.

Please put me on the list for at least 2 of these from you.

The little ones from J-Wraps still leak down over the screen, and behind the tank is always wet. They do not work really well to isolate the airflow area and do not create a perfect seal at all.

So I love the flavor I get from SS wire but if I can't lock my resistance on the DNA 60 I can't get a consistent vape in wattage mode.

I really don't like kanthal so that's out. Never tried Ni80, but could that be the answer?

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
There's not really a need to lock the resistance for TC on a DNA chip. However it can be done (dont recall the click combo but it is in the DNA manual, which is a PDF as a free download from Evolve Vapor)

Once you have your wire materials set and uploaded via Escribe that's all you need. DNA chips are constantly monitoring resistance, cold or hot and will use your TCR/TFR curves to adjust power to the coil automatically.

IMHO the stock 316L profile for SS on most DNA mods hits pretty low (or soft) like it is using a TCR value of 88 when it should be closer to 111, so you'd need to put your watts higher. For example, say your coil is 6 wraps of SS on 3mm, and 0.34 Ohms, with a TCR of 111, you can get a nice hot vape @ 27w & 420F, but if the TCR is 88, you will likely need a setting of about 37w and about 460F to get the same experience at the drip tip.

TweaKings released the dampness plug with airflow adjustment, I think this will work well since I can now remove the AFC ring on the Vapeshell.

Also another with very restricted airflow

Yeah I meant running it stock, straight wattage mode since the authentic doesn't come with a 316L profile like you said.

I found TC to be way too finicky on the last DNA 60 had.

maybe you all can help me... Real or Clone?

https://imgur.com/a/tizRnxq

Thanks!
I have the SXK clone of the ratblack BB DNA60, and it does not have the sticker across the button cover area saying 'Authentic'. Purchased new from Gas City Vapes in Canada 2 months ago.

Also the SXK clone of the Steam Tuners Insider came in a small rectangular plastic tube/box about the size of a pill bottle, and not in a fancy box with foam like that.

I only know the clones, but that one in your photo set looks different to mine, and COULD be authentic.

Also IIRC the inside of the doors that come with the authentic BB has deeper engravings than that on the clone, but we cannot see that in these photos...

The above is not definitive, but maybe helpful to you?

Price seems nice for the BB and Insider if both are authentic.

Also, the box looks REALLY clean, and that color is sort of between a navy blue and dark purple and seems pretty unique to me.

Yep, I'm an enabler, but that's because I love my SXK BB clone. Wish I could affort the authentic, but not just yet.

I'm in the process of trying out all the different atomizers available as clones - the Insider, Exocet, the clone comes with a kanger-style RBA head too, and I've got a Vapeshell clone on the way from FT ($15 with MAP code)

Nobody has cloned the Bastard Coil and wish I had the cash for that one too...

Once I find my favorite atomizer setup for the BB, I will start saving for all authentic of everything and keep the clones as backups.

I'm not opposed in buying the clone myself it's a lot cheaper...not even sure if the insider is my style of Vape...plus I'd still need to get one of those boro adapter plug deals.

Like now my vapes are picos with authentic RDAs...had expensive and to me it doesn't always equate to better.

But with the BB I'm a total newb in what is worthwhile.

Might end up being an impulse buy, find out later when I get more pics

I think I remember reading it, thank you for re-posting it. I e-mailed BB asking how you update firmware on the box, got a reply today with a link to the DNA 60 spec. sheet. As useful as a driver's license to a blind man. I wrote to them again explaining that it is not possible to do the updates without a USB port unless you take the box apart which will void warranty.
I think I'll get the SXK one!
