HIC's Halo Malibu Clone recipe: very simple, good match to the real thing)

12% Flavor West Pina Colada
1 drop of The Flavor Apprentice Koolada per 5ml of finished juice

Like the real thing, this is safe in plastic tanks (even an EVOD). This recipe matches Halo's version very well, but I like to add 0.5-1% FlavourArt Jamaican Rum for an even tastier version.

I made this with 13% (FW) Pina Colada, 1% (FA) Jamiican Rum, 1% (TFA) Coconut Extra mixed 50/50 pg/vg. It was delicious, my family can't get enough.

Made it 12% Piña Colada, 2% Rhum, 0.5% Koolada and it's really really close to the Halo version. Thanx HIC!

Thank you, Pat!

I used to spend big bucks on Halo. I vaped this recipe happily for a long while and enjoyed the savings.
With those savings I bought other flavorings and eventually made a pina colada I prefer even to Malibu: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-pina-colada.18824/ If you ever want to play around with ingredients, you might like that one, too.

HIC: I thank you again for sharing your recipes. I've been making this "Malibu Clone" since before Xmas and keeping a freind of mine off cigarettes. (She really, really likes it)
Anyway, Red Lobster has a new seasonal drink they call the Special Cargo Pina Colada which adds banana and amaretto and a dash of nutmeg - I was pleasantly surprised how good it was, so I had to make it vape...
12% piña colada
2% Jamaican Rum
2% ripe banana
0.5% koolada

The banana is mild but adds a mellow/smoothness factor that is very nice

Congratulations to your friend! that's a long time to vape the same flavor, wow.
If you want the amaretto for that Special Cargo, you could add a tiny bit (maybe just 0.25% even) of FA Marzipan. Now I'm craving lobster...not to vape.

Malibu is the juice that got me off analogs. I was so excited when I saw this recipe was so simple. Great place to start. Ordered a bunch of DIY supplies with the intention of making this and the Kringle's clone. So easy. And so cheap! About $1.50/30ml compared to $20/30ml of the authentic stuff. And I don't have to worry about running out and reordering.

I made both this and your Kringle's clone with your percentages, only upping the koolada to 1 drop per 2ml cause that's what I like. The flavor is dead on. You're my hero. :)

I do have a question though... When you make your juices, do you measure by volume or weight? I tried both and had more success measuring by volume since I was making such small amounts. My scale didn't seem to be accurate enough when dealing with 10ths of mls. Just used pipettes (cause that's what I had on hand) to measure drops so they'd all be about equal.

I'm too clumsy and impatient to use scales, too simple-minded to mess with densities. So I do it just like you do, and almost always in tiny batches.

(and I'm very glad you can make your own Kringles and Malibu now! Way to go!)

I have a Pina Colada recipe with FA flavors that might be useful -- over here: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-pina-colada.18824/.
Some people prefer TPA/TFA for Pineapple, so that's reasonable. I would choose FA Jamaican Rum over TPA, though; it's far tastier. I'd use much less of FA Fresh Cream, but you should do what pleases your own taste buds. If you reduce the Fresh Cream, you probably won't need so much sweetener.

If you mean percentage, you'll have to experiment & please yourself, but to me, that TPA flavor is super-strong, and I'd start with just 1%. Just mix tiny batches, take notes on which flavor(s) you want to taste more/less of, and adjust one flavoring at time. To make the process simpler, just start with pineapple, coconut, and rum. Get the balance of those 3 where you like it, then consider what else you really want to add. Coconut is creamy on its own; Fresh Cream will add to that element. Vanillin won't mess up anything, so you can add that at any step you like. I always get everything tasting right before adding Koolada. I don't use sweeteners but that's another to wait & add after your other flavors (at least the pineapple/coconut/rum) are decided. Having to really taste and consider each step like this, you often end up with an entirely different recipe, so don't be afraid to experiment. That's half the fun of DIY!
