NETs and WTAs...Whats the deal

Looking for some info on NETs and WTAs. If the DIY minds here can enlighten me...

I've heard of, and seen, NET juices for sale, but can you get these in DIY flavorings?

What are WTAs? Are these available in flavorings as well?

Just getting into DIY, and need something to quench my analog cravings in the morning.

Thanks

NETS are Naturally Extracted Tobacco - it typically is the flavor

WTA, Whole Tobacco Alkaloids, are an additive to any juice and is used by those few people who cannot quit smoking with vaping because they are not addicted to nicotine, but to the alkaloids in tobacco

WTA is highly addictive and should be avoided unless you have been unsuccessful in quitting smoking while vaping

@JuicyLucy explained it wonderfully and I would like to say that for the longest time I heard about NET and WTA but when I researched it I said to myself that would be going backwards.

You keep saying that Steve, but it’s not true for me at least. Testing of NETs shows they are nowhere close to as bad as smoking and some flavored juices have been shown to be worse in some tests.

Not going backwards in terms of harm, backwards in terms of too close to cigarettes or contains some of the chemicals in cigarettes that is addicting or was addicting at least to me.

I understand. The NETs I’ve been vaping are from whole tobacco leaf Extracts, none of the additives that they put on cigarette tobacco. I think they taste better than cigarettes did. Some of those same additives they put in ejuice by the way, vanilla, chocolate, coffee you name it.
I agree about the other addictive components in NETs, but the nicotine in regular ejuice is addictive to me lol. So I basically replaced cigs with vaping and healthier for it.

.... I think the idea that vaping NETs is somehow going backwards is dangerously ridiculous..if vaping NETs keeps people from inhaling combustable tobacco then they've won the battle...It is voodoo to discourage people from using NETs to get off smoking..NETS do not contain significant amounts of MAOIs that may addict some smokers, NETs do not contain any of the myriad of other chemicals put into cigarettes that also make them addictive...if you use NETs to get off smoking that is a huge victory, the step from vaping NETs to vaping Strawberry will be a cake walk comparitively. We should never discourage people from using NETs or tobacco flavored juices.

NETs made from extractions of whole leaf tobacco or even cigars or pipe tobacco are not going to have the chemicals that are put into cigarettes.

I have some Tobacco's that are the tits to me and definitely are not NET's or WTA's. That is why I will stay away from them, I really don't need anything closer to smoking because some of the Tobaccos like the American Gold are too close to actually smoking I don't enjoy them.

Just this weekend I ordered some tobacco leaf varieties from Leaf Only to finally make my own cold macerated NETs, read so much about it at ECF (not much on VU unfortunately). Also likely to order a couple of pipe blends to macerate for comparison. Been wanting to try it for years. NETs and my diy peppermint ice are all i vape these days.
You’re right on target about NETs being a great way to get off cigs, it’s whats kept me off them for 3 1/2 years. Not everyone can quit going straight to a watermelon or strawberry slush vape lol :D
And at least with diy i know what I’m vaping - after reading diy recipes with artificial sweeteners and other such stuff I realize why I hate most store bought sickly sweetened juices.

Was years of vaping for me with only Tobacco Blends while I was saying I could never be vaping deserts or fruits. Blame it all on that Fruit By The Drop which was the 1st Non Tobacco I ever vaped but that was after trying 100's of flavors at the vape shop drinking lemon flavored water to cleanse the palate and everything~!

Ive been vaping since around the end of 2006 or so and just this year gave up menthol as a new years resolution and still regularly vape tobacco blends. I sometimes just need to wipe my taste buds with something earthy and the tobacco stuff does a real good job of it. Im hooking onto this thread to steep teas. Hibiscus, jasmine and so on. Maybe even some cinnamon, lavender and vanilla. The teas are delicate flavors that could be nice accents to other already good things or to add a little complexity to some simple vapes. The others might offer a slightly truer flavor to the real thing without having the ability to be overpowering unless used in high doses. Hell this might be what we have to do to get flavors from anything if the FDA has their way.

Don't get me wrong my Tobacco Blends are my EDV's but I switch flavors sometimes 10 times a day. Then again when I am too busy to be fucking around any more than just filling a tank or screwing in a fresh coil it is a Tobacco Blend.

My first juices were tobacco flavors but never found one I really liked until I discovered NETs. Like you I tried 100 ejuice flavors before I found 1, Clockwerks custard, that I really liked.

I’ve yet to try teas but they sound interesting. I have seen posts about tea extractions, maybe on ECF. I would think those shouldn’t be too hard to do?
Yeah with the FDA down on “flavors” for no good reason diy is a good thing to be into.

I have a Cherry Blossom Tea DIY that is fantastic, especially in the 100 Degree weather. I go with different flavors all the time but there is only one flavor which is every time I have mixing session and that is 240-300 ML's of my Tobacco Blends. I have 5-6 regulars and a bunch which are for a change up or heavy Tobacco like a Flue Cured. They say Variety is the Spice of life right?

Yes, so much knowledge there. I learned a lot on the NET threads from guys like Anthony B, str8vision, etc. my name will pop up in those threads, and in the pod systems threads along with @SteveS45 a fair amount haha
