Hey VU,

Troubleshoot this -

Over the last few days my mod has been having a little hissy fit every time I pick it up. I am running the steam crave aromamizer plus rdta on top, a pair of hohm life 3077mah 36.3a batteries on board. The mod itself is reading (was reading) the build at about .093ohms. This is the problem....every other time I pick the damn thing up, it thinks I have changed out the coil, or its telling me the ohms are too high / too low. I have changed nothing since I dropped these coils in the steam crave - and these are the first coils i bought for this tank. Its only a month old? The Mod itself is about 6-7 months old?

I will get warning messages telling me that the ohms are too high (3.787 is the highest its read) and too low (.041 is the lowest its read). I know Smok needs to be right around 1. to work. I found a thread on here where there is an override if you lock it, hold the power up button you can change the ohm level. Which I did - and that worked for about a day - before it started spazzing out again.

The other issue I am having is - it doesnt always fire. I will hold the fire button down and nothing. It doesnt register that I am even pressing it? I attached a couple pics of the warnings I am getting.

I feel like this thing is dying on me, but maybe theres a workaround?

I have a one-year-old alien mod it still works great and has never given me any troubles.. I was thinking about upgrading to a procolor but after reading your post I'm having second thoughts about quality... Hope you get it figured out

My Alien will read some coils correctly but not others. It is ok with Smok tanks but 50/50 with others. Not sure if it is a deeper 510 pin, but I suspect it's not a well designed 510.

One could tinker with the pin on the tanks or the 510 connection on the mod but easier to use other devices where this isn't an issue.

As a test, I put an old Atlantis with 1.0 ohm coil on the Alien and it read 1.537.....not good. Put it on the Battlestar and same coil read 0.95.

Some Wismec mods also have this 510 issue. My old rx200 doesn't like my tfv4 but the tfv8 cloud beast and all my other tanks read ok on that mod.

I have a Smok stick v8 that likes 2 of my 3 baby beasts, and will fire an og Crown with 0.25 coil, but nothing else. Since that is a very basic device, my guess is the Smok 510 design is the culprit, but I could be wrong.

I personally am done with Smok. My wife walked into our local shop and said "get him a new mod" because she was over me complaining about it. I walked out with a Tesla SteamPunk 220w. Zero problems so far, and everything I've read and or heard said there more than likely won't be.

I was wondering if my Steamcrave was too much tank for my procolor, trying to run a big built tank on that box? Idk, maybe? Either way, new box in my hand now - done with Smok.
