Spaced 3mm Stitched Framed Staple Alien
how do you like the vape from the stitched aliens compared to normal ones? i found they seemed to light up faster than normal alien wrap, but i didnt like the actual vape as much.

:eek::eek: i dont recall seeing anyone do that before. what are the specs? hows the vape?

I got the clone and it’s completely missing the side airflow so it sucks. I’m gonna try to drill the 10x1.5mm airslot in it once I figure out what to use to drill through the top cap.
I saw someone was having a weird issue when I glanced through the forum. I've heard several of the posts-grounding out issues, but I think that's a first on the missing airflow. perhaps the problems I had when ordering were a blessing in disguise lol

I can't build today, I'm going sit in a truck (2.5 hour drive) and then move big and heavy things into the new house all day instead. Shucks

Good thing I get to see lots of great builds from other people to tide me over :D

Well what I did was I took a long strand of 30g and I claptoned that with 40g, then I took the clapton and I claptoned that around 24g. I stretched it out like I would a normal decore and then I alien captioned that onto a 26g frame/6 .5 ply ribbon stack. I noticed that shortly after I started trying to wrap the coil it started twisting on me because I think my prep was rushed and not that well done but I did manage to get 3.5 managable wraps out of it and it does actually vape okay. I'm sure I could do it a lot better if I took a second go at it but I just wanted to basically prove to myself that I could alien wrap a micro clapton around a stack. It was fun.

I don't know if you've noticed but I've been a pretty active member of the community.
I don't know if you've noticed, but actually so am I. So I have no clue where you were getting at with your remark of "This is a community".
I don't own any clones, from what other people tell me there are good ones and bad ones. What does any of that have to do with you bragging about spending $2000?
Good that you don't own any clones. Stealing great innovative designs from a quality manufacturer in an industry that's already under constant heavy attack is bad so I don't support the thieves, but instead I encourage other people to not support the thieves either, and, if someone truly doesn't have anything to vape on and can't afford an authentic so that the only other option is to go back to smoking cigarettes, then there are other places where this someone can go to talk about clones, especially if this talk is going to also include the pricing of a clone versus that of the authentic in such a way that it might create the impression (whether that was done purposely or not) that saving money by paying the thieves is necessarily always being respectful to the community that you mention.

You know I get what your saying. And I know your part of the community I haven't said anything to intentionally disrespect you. I respect you. Whether we like it or not clones are a part of the vaping market. There's nothing we can do to really change that. I'm just saying that if someone wants to mention that they bought a clone on this forum cause that's what they could afford or because that's what they wanted, it doesn't really add any value to the conversation to belittle them, IMO, or to mention how much you spent on authentic gear. I think most people who buy clones know they are buying clones and I personally think clones have their place in the market. Now you might not respect my opinion, and I could understand why, cause I honestly see both sides of it. I know its frustrating that Chinese companies make money off the likeness of original American made products. I work in the industrial supply distribution business and I can draw a parallel to what American vendors invent and what Chinese companies copy and sell right out from under them. What you pay for is what you get. What I meant by we are a community is that if someone chooses the offshore copy, it's not to spite innovation, its just what they can afford and I think they should be able to talk about it here the same way we talk about our new acquisitions. Saying I just spent X dollars on authentic gear isn't going to make a positive impression on anyone... I don't think. In principal I can strongly relate to your sentiment about "thieves". I just don't relate to the interpersonal aspect of putting someone else down cause unlike you and I, there are people who are struggling every day just to make ends meet, and I think they have every right to talk about their vaping experience as the rest of us do. So it's really no disrespect towards you or your purchase. And I do get where your coming from. I was just expressing my opinion, I'm not out to reprimand you I know I have no right to do that. Let's squash it?

I know saying I just spent X dollars on authentic gear isn't going to make a positive impression on anyone. But it's what I can afford to say when someone assumes everyone who buys a clone is necessarily always buying it only because it's just what they can afford, and, I never said they don't have every right to talk about their vaping experience (and BTW the Deathtrap RDA is Canadian, not American)... but yeah, let's just go bowling.

Oh my bad I didn't realize it was a Canadian Manufacturer. I kinda consider Canada part of "America" so to speak but I understand the Canadians are a proud group and I don't want to take anything away from them at all. I'm definitely down for bowling but I haven't gone in so long I'm gonna suck. The only thing I know how to do is crank a 16 lbs ball and throw it as fast and hard as I can towards the middle. You'd destroy me.:giggle:

Clones are the whole reason the market is the way it is now, whether you like them or not they have generated more vapers and builders because the Hobbyist side of vaping decreased in cost to the consumer. Clones drove the prices down to a affordable point and now that the market is saturated and less costly, more authentics are within reach to every day builders. If clones never came about (as shitty as they were when they came to be), than prices would still be in the $200+ range for RDA's and skyward for most mechs.

Im a hobbyist in the Building community and I like shiny new things, but I also have bills and kids and other interests. Im also a business owner and create products....if the products are reasonably priced, the owner/employees give good customers service and the quality of the products match-then the product will sell itself and people will support that brand whether a clone arises or not.

When you have companies that overcharge for something, havent had the best CS record and their products are great than you may see more interest in the clones. What you have to say about a product wont change anyone's wallet or mind on the matter, the individual will make a decision based on what he sees from his friends/other people in his circle, online reviews/comparisons, and then will judge whether or not its worth splurging a payment of rent+ on a single product to vape on.

If someone cloned the KTX or my clamps It wouldnt matter to me, there are many types that are similar already. I put in the time, testing, effort, and my own money as well as others into my business. I also dug in to the community well beforehand, and I dont slap people into buying my products. I simply offer what I can and hope people see it all for what it is. I wont feel any different if someone bought a clone or different product than mine, theres no real reason to. I used to use clones and I still buy them for duplicates/test runs and to give them away to new users to get them going. Its a inexpensive way to get people started or to have spare parts if the clones are 1:1....its a good thing, especially when a manufacturer stops producing the products.

Alot of the high end brands have rubbed me the wrong way like Purge....I wont drop that kind of money unless Im good friends with a business, one move like that and if it doesnt end perfectly Im down for a few months from getting anything....So I dont even bother looking anymore. I choose to buy RDA's that are less than $80 (more around $40) and I stopped buying mechs....Ill save for one that catches my eye but I always buy a clone to test a product before dumping any large sum into it.

If you could get people to change their minds easily and have them buy what I consider okay for them to buy than everyone would own a firearm, jump into firearm safety lesson/training, and learn to be less dependent on others/government in various ways...but thats unrealistic today, people have different opinions, even when they are "like-minded". So you shouldnt shun someone off because of what they own or laugh at what they have, its just materials.

I still pull out the Kanger Subtank Mini every once in a while. It's one of the few that I hardly ever use that I just can't bring my self to sell it. Nostalgia, from when I first started to learn how to build, I guess.

I still have a smok baby beast tank sitting around. It was the first atomizer that got me off of cigs (1-2 packs daily). Still need to get the rebuildable deck for it!

Yay I’m looking forward to seeing your work! We need some coil pics on this thread today :(

Yeah I was kinda bummed to see almost nothing but blah blah yesterday, less blah blah more builds today!

Btw, did you get your clip on lens yet?

I did, and it's great for recording up close stuff hands free, not much better for close pictures than my 10x loupe but is nice that I don't have to hold it, so it's a big upgrade for sure

Here ya go. Captain's Craft recommended this build for my suggested resistance range for my Fatality and I couldn't be happier. Came in at .16 w/ those 6 wraps. 8x.3K w/30K frames & 36N80 wrap. The wrap at bottom left was perfect, before I got ahold of it :p

Thanks for posting that, I was sad I didn't have time to take pictures of it Friday

Heh, those 36g n80 wrapped ones were the "bonus" coils that I made as fast as I could because I literally had 5 minutes before I had to go get my kid from school, when I was coiling them xD remember "as much as I can build in 2-3 hours" haha

I hope the 6x.3 ones are right at 0.2 for you

Here are 10 wire shots of 2x30 SS /46k

........man it’s been like 3 days of this mindless crap what is wrong with you
Hey Chris you know I completely agree with you but at some point you just gotta let whoever it is with the opposing opinion get the last word in like they want to and move on. Some people come on here just to argue and start s**t. They say things that they know will get a response and they thrive off of it. We're better than that. We're builders. You're a great builder, anyone coming on here to specifically argue with you is not going to get any love from the rest of us. Not worth your time brother.

4x30n80/36n80+40 stitch
0.2ish ohms

I've done a few different stitched alien variants, and none of them have been an improvement over their non-stitched counterparts.

I haven't tried them, two different people have asked me for them though  I went full-OCD preparation and got it, anyway

The vape quality off the stitched fralien seems to really bring all the little nuances of the flavors out. And since I make my own juice, it's very easy for me to tell. I think it may be because of the 40g. I talked to PegLeg Meg about that and she agreed

Check out Lightroom, too. If you shoot RAW photos, it can do absolute wonders for your images. It's almost like you can change what the camera settings were for the pictures AFTER you take the photo.

Big alien coil. And I freehand drilled an air slot in the death trap clone. It’s hideous but I works and doesn’t whistle. Next time I drill in metal, I know to make dimples first because the drill bit was breakdancing.

And I have a 30mm authentic coming thanks too @raymo2u
