Vaping Journey: Oldest to Newest Devices

I quit smoking on the 1st week of Dec, 2015. I managed to keep the very first setup I bought which was a VTC Mini with a Triton II sub-ohm tank. A few weeks after buying that, I bought numerous other devices (tanks, mods, chargers, drip tips, accessories, etc) that came and went.

These are my remaining survivors arranged from the oldest to my current devices (don't mind that honkin' Crown tank on the Aegis). How about you guys, were you able to keep your old devices? If so, post a pic, I'd love to see them!

I started around 2011(ish) with cigalikes and egos, shortly after I went to an mvpV2 and a provari/kfun, I stuck with a reo, provape and kayfun until the dna30 came out. When they were released I started collecting evolv mods and mechs.
I’ve since sold and bought a ton of gear but mostly use a dna250, a couple of different Mech Squonk mods and some variable voltage devices.
I did keep that first joyetech still cigalike, dna30 and Kayfun
But I’ve sold my provapes and reos.
The pics are old of my older gear lol

I also started in 2011 with cigalikes. I used to always buy a brand named Smoke Free. I still have some of the old batteries and cartomizers. I don't know exactly where they're at, but I doubt anyone wants to see pics of those anyway

Started with a Mystic eGo kit from Wal-Mart. Don't have that anymore, but I do still have a Kanger 1000 mAh Evod Twist. No Evod tank... The Twist now has a Taifun GS 1 on it, and I occasionally pull it out.

My first "real" mod was the 1st generation iStick. Still got it, too. I had to put a heat-sink on it to preserve the threads. Running a Kayfun Mini 3 on it.

Nowadays, I typically carry a dual cell 200+ watt box and a mech at all times. Sometimes I'll swap one or the other for a squonker.

My desire to quit smoking grew from a success to an obsession. Today, I've got in the neighborhood of 220 mods and 300 atties... No duplicates...

That's alot of vape gear! I wish I hadn't given away or sold my other stuff. It would've been nice to use some of the older mods, kind of retro in a way.

Awesome collection!

Again, wow! That's a whole lot of stuff! Do you plan to keep them or sell/give them away eventually?

I started the same way, from quitting smoking to eventually collecting. But after thinking that I've already invested too much, I decided to sell most of them and give some to relatives who were looking to quit. I just kept those that kind of "meant something", not the ones I bought out of impulse.

If I could get one of them back though, I'd like to have my Mini Volt back. I really miss that mod and how compact it was.

Thanks but since that pic was taken, I added about ten devices then sold everything except for 5 of them.

I've already given/traded/sold more than 100 devices LOL.

My first mods were Twists, then Provaris. I quickly picked up mechs - the old 22 Philippine ones and had quite a few. I still have one Provari mini. I graduated to Reos for awhile. I just gave a way a few older mechs - Viggo and Kultura ... like @shawn.hoefer, I must have traded at least 50-70 devices.

I trade constantly ... the oldest device I have in the house is my Provari mini and the second oldest my Limitless tube (were a hot items once) But honestly newer mechs are simply better.

I never had the b@lls to try mech or hybrid mods. Most of them look really nice but exploding batteries always steered me away from them.

Out of curiousity, is there a difference between using a mech mod and using a regulated mod on bypass mode?

Sounds like a cult...

"Embrace the purity of the tube."

Oh, wait, it kinda is...

I love my tube mods for their simplicity, elegance, and for the raw, unfiltered power.

Started with the OG Joytech 510. Then the Joytech ego. Then the 510t and ego t.

Back to cigarettes.

Then the OG Kanger Aerotank on an MVP

Back to cigarettes

Then a Dark Horse clone on a Sir Lancelot tube mech clone.

Got a couple of SMPL clones, and went through a handful of RDA's. In no particular order, The Marquis, the Veritas, a pair of derringers.

Then decided to give rta's a shot. Got a v1 Bellus and Goblin mini, powered by a P4U IPV 3 Li and an IPV Mini respectively.

Then a TFV4, sitting on an RX200. Threw that tank in the garbage where it belonged and got a v1 Boreas. FINALLY found complete vaping bliss and was able to completely quit smoking, as in not even 1, ever since.

Got a second RX200, but red.
Got a DNA Reuleaux, which has since died.
Got a gold Reload RTA, which managed to outshine the Boreas.

And here we are.

Day to day, I use the Reload on the red RX200 for 3-6 mg/l juice, though I recently dusted off the Goblin Mini and IPV Mini for nic salts. Love being able to go out with a mini setup without battery/juice anxiety. Also still carry the IPV3 Li topped with a W9 Hercules, but that's another subject entirely.

Next step will be a large lipo powered PWM mod for home, which I'm shopping for now. Possibly considering a fresh mini setup as well for salts, perhaps Hastur Mini on top of something interesting. Will probably move the herc to the IPV Mini at that point.

Also probably going to buy an armload of Aspire Sprytes, replacement coils, and some salts, to PIF to the few remaining friends and family I have who are still smokers. I think the tech is finally cheap and easy enough where they might hopefully be able to stick with it

I had a tfv4 as well. I hated it as much as you did. I cant even remember if I gave it away or if I sold it to an unlucky chap. I'm hoping the former, nobody deserves that tank

I'm actually planning to get a pod system for my wife, have my eyes set on the Breeze 2. She started with a Kangertech Top Tank kit before but after her juice ran out, she went back to smoking.

Bought her an iQos system but that didn't work either. So now Im deliberating between getting her the Breeze 2 or an Armour Pro paired with a decent MTL rta.
