I was just thinking that the accident had less to do with vaping and more to do with plain stupidity. If every company in the world were to fire everyone who's stupid, damn, the rest of us might be able to get jobs!
Other than the plain stupidity causing the loss of altitude and that one imbecile who somehow equates "seeing the oxygen masks when he closes his eyes" with actual physical harm (he MUST be a millennial), I really can't see what the big uproar is about. No one was injured, no one was killed; som e millennials apparently got their feelings hurt, and maybe some dollar amount of oxygen was used.

Call me feeble or a pantywaist, but I'm pretty sure I'd need clean underwear if I was a passenger on a plane and it plummeted almost 20,000 feet and the oxygen masks dropped

- A 2000 ft/min rate of descent is not a "plummet".
- Vaping didn't cause shit; an incompetent co-pilot flipping the wrong switches did.
- The cabin pressurization system should not be referred to as an "air conditioning" system. Air does not need to be cooled at 30,000ft!

This exactly. I don't care for the sensation when a plane descends, no matter how slowly or quickly, it unsettles my inner ears... but it appears that at no time was there any actual "emergency", which means that at no time were the passengers told to "assume the position" (similar to the "kiss your ass goodbye" position). And this really IS NOT about vaping, it's about PLAIN OLD STUPIDITY.
And yeah, EVERYONE needs to calm the fuck down and realize that emotional upset is NOT the same as physical harm -- for physical harm you go to an emergency room and depending on the severity of the harm, they see you as soon as humanly possible -- for emotional upset, even for PTSD, they send you to a shrink, who may give you medication so you can CALM THE FUCK DOWN -- I know this because *I* suffer from PTSD, have for many years, and no one has suggested that I head for an emergency room. Scaring people is NOT the same as injuring them.
