Need help deciding on a new squonk rda

I've been using my rolo badge full time for a month now since I busted both of my rda's. One had seen better days anyway and it got stuck on the top of my mech, and the other broke during a quick fit of anger.

So anyway, I'm looking for a decent to good rda for my pulse mod. I'm just not sure what to look for. Obviously 22-24mm, and I like to lean more towards clouds than flavor. Budget is very tight so I'm ok with a clone. I'm mostly questioning if a single or dual coil is preferred for my situation. I know when I was using my pulse 24, I very much preferred single over dual, so I guess that kind of answers my question. I do know that I don't care much for "single coil compatible" RDAs. I want it to be dedicated to single or dual.

Another one though; are there any single coil squonkable RDAs that are designed with the cloud chaser in mind? Or any that are more suitable for clouds?

The Omier Wasp - single coil, very airy and very inexpensive

I haven’t tried the Solo Drop, which is their dedicated single coil, but I’ve heard great things about them and I’m currently in love with my regular Drop using two coils.
I’ve also heard that the Recurve is a solid dedicated single coil RDA. @wildgypsy70 has a ton more information on single coil RDA’s that she’s given me before, but rather than copy/paste our conversation, I’ll let her chime in on her own if she wishes to. The Drop Solo and Recurve only came to mind because, as long as you don’t mind waiting, you can pick up clones of each from Fasttech for $7-$8 a piece, because I did get that far in looking for inexpensive single coil RDA’s.
Just out of curiosity...what kind of coils are you using to cloud chase with? I only ask because that can be a factor between flavor and clouds.

I can’t recommend a specific rda. I’m on the hunt for low cost single coil rda’s myself. But over the 4th I picked up both a recurve and a wasp. For me the wasp presents flavor better but can whistle a bit on harder draws. I’m also not a fan of how the top cap feels to my mouth. The recurve has much smoother air flow but it’s very very slightly more restricted than I prefer. Also the recurve has no real juice well to speak of so in my opinion it’s squonk only. But both are decent enough, definitely usable. I’m using the recurve 2x as much as the wasp but I paid 2x as much also.

Drop solo, better than recurve imo. Haven't used wasp so no comments about it. Biggest + about dropsolo is the deck and the room, different types of builds etc
Dropsolo also comes with ss topcap and pmma cap and 2 driptips while nano has 1 and 0.

Oh, hello!

I am by no means an expert in single coil rdas, but I have a lot of them, since it’s the only way I Vape. And I am a flavor girl....clouds are nice, but not what I’m looking for. So, disclaimers dealt with.....

My favorites, atm, are the Hadlay, Drop Solo and the Entheon. They are all easy to build. Decent air flow(for me, as a flavor girl). Great for squonking. The Recurve has many fans. I recently picked up a Ghoul for cheap from Pure Coils and am liking that one, too!

Bang for the buck(and availability) would go to the Wasp. It has a touch of a tricky coil placement.....but once you get it, it does have great flavor and great for sqonking. Dedicated single coil attys tend to run smaller and have less air flow and, IMO, tend to run better on squonkers. Again, my opinion.

That all said, is there a dedicated single coil rda built for cloud chasing? I’m curious.....and I haven’t done a lick of research on it.

Thank you! I’m still pretty new to the Squonk/rda game....I definitely combed thru the threads to see what I should pick up. So much knowledge here! I don’t need the power of dual coils. Singles where it’s at for me! :blowkiss:

Same here. The only dual coil atty I use is my goon 22 because of the confined space all I need is a couple of fused Clapton's and it gives me awesome flavor. Everything else is a single coil atty.

I'm flip flopping between 24 or 26g ka1 or ss316l and doing parallel coils, or picking up a pack of coilology prewrapped aliens.
