The majority of the recipes I see are either a large amount of different flavorings, or things that do sound appetizing to me. That's kind of why I'm looking for stand alone flavors to start with.
Gotcha. Bang for the buck would be one shots. Other than that......I would do Liquid Barns Vanilla Ice Cream. IMO, the best one out there. Also, Wonder Flavors Banana Purée is an amazing banana, INW Shisha Strawberry is a good syrupy sweet strawberry that doesn’t fade, Flavor West Butter anything(scotch, rum, ripple, etc...) are the best out there. FW Cake anything(yellow, white, birthday, sponge) are damn good. Capella Sugar Cookie, Vanilla Custard V1 are dessert essentials. I could go on for days......

One shots are premixed flavor recipes. In other words there may be several flavors in one bottle, say strawberry, cream, and cupcake already measured for you. All you do is add it to your base ingredients at a certain percentage. Some are complex and cost a bit more but some are simple and cheaper.

Thanks for this thread. Already answered a couple of questions. I'll have to try the FA Fresh Cream. I like an assortment of flavors because I'll vape a flavor in the ground and get tired of it then go to something completely different i.e. I love a good custard but it'll get old and I'll switch to say a Grape Candy and then Cinnamon then, well, you get the picture. Not that it hasn't been thought of or done but I like a good what I call comfort vape that's doughy or bready so I'm going to try to find a really good biscuit base to go with a banana that doesn't taste like candy but no spice. I like Banana Nut Bread but that isn't what I'm going for. When I get that right maybe try to ease in a good Peanut Butter. That being said, in your opinion, what is the best biscuit?

Precisely. Like red eye gravy biscuits or tomato gravy biscuits or sawmill gravy with sausage biscuits. Homemade cathead buttermilk biscuits. Might have my hands full with this one.
Gotcha. There is no one flavor that does it. What are you looking to do with it? There are a few recipes out there that come close, but have another element with it. And there is one flavor that is pretty good solo.....Nicotine River’s Strawberry Jam and Biscuit. @Boogenshizzle has a recipe called Biscuits and Jam that does a pretty good job of white biscuits....it’s deep in the recipe thread here.

I find using the NR biscuit with INW biscuit and a butter to make a very good biscuit. The sb is so light it's easily covered with the fruit of your choice.

Not sure about exactly how to go about it yet. I usually use very few flavors up to now. Still pretty new at this.

BC said my order will be here Saturday. I got all the stuff from the link recipe that pertains to the biscuit end of it. I don't want to straight up swipe somebody else's recipe. I'll change things up a bit over the course of playing around with the flavors I'm sure.

Thanks for everyone's help. :)

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I'm in the back of the cheese line with you.

A one shot is all the concentrates for a recipe in the right percentages in a bottle without nic, pg, or vg. You take how much percentage of flavor, add your nic, pg, and vg to it, and you've got a bottle of juice. I know somebody else can explain it more eloquently but that's the best I can at this time. :)

Yah that makes sense. But, that's kind of counter intuitive to why I want to get into DIY. I want to be able to customize my vape experience to the fullest.

I just finished making this:

Finger test is good. I've got to put in some clean cotton to try it. It'll prob need about a week to come together.
That's the one I'm using as a starting point but I'm leaving out all the fruit flavors. Kinda reluctant on using JOY because of having a bad experience with it before. But I'm new so, learning curve.

Well, you don't have to use one-shots. They're more for people who don't want to buy individual bottles of flavor and/or tinker.

I'm gonna use it and see how it works. I tried to spruce up a mix with it before and it got poured down the sink. Just skittish. I think I just used too much but as they say, "Once bitten twice shy".

Joy to me is one of those flavors you use in 10ths of a percent.

Thanks for this!
I just made my first ever juice today and knew I needed to get the Capella vanilla custard V1 instead of V2. when I read it is better in more than one post. I am liking the flavor better then the ADV I was buying because It has no added sweetener. I am sure it can get better with some more steep time though.

8% Capella Vanilla custard and 2% Flavor Apprentice Dulce de leche with a few hours of force steep.

I am so glad to get rid of that unnecessary sweet taste!
What does "force steep" mean?

Does every store have one shots? Or flavor packs? I would like to find a good strawberry recipe with a One-Shot or a flavor pack.. like a strawberry milk, (though Mom and Pop's Vapor Shop does have a concentrate, which basically sounds like a one shot, for their strawberry milk and their OMG.. which is a strawberries and cream- heavy on the cream, that I currently use.)

I would like to try other versions of strawberries and cream.. or strawberry milk, or another version including strawberry..

If anyone has suggestions on the easiest and cheapest way to do that, Maybe if anyone has ideas on one shots or flavor packs that they would recommend for a good strawberry mix ejuice, and where to get the supplies? Thank you!

No idea, never used 'em. I've really made just the one strawberry & cream recipe for 4 yrs now; a few other recipes here and there, @Mykreign's Red White and Blueberry is pretty damn good... but the strawberry & cream has been my all day every day vape since Dec 2014.

I've mixed up a few tobacco and sweet-tobacco-ish recipes, they're on my blog page along with my strawberry & cream; probably the most successful was the Camel-ish recipe I came up with, for my son; it got him started well with vaping, and he's barely touched a tobacco vape since then.

In most cases, other people's recipes just don't have enough flavoring to suit me, or they use flavors with diketones, which I avoid if at all possible.

It means to run it in an ultrasonic cleaner or submerge in a hot water bath for a given amount of time; usually no more than a couple of hours.
...Or a magnetic liquid mixer that also can warm it at the same time while it is stirring it in a glass jar (e.g., Nitecore NFF01) or a Crock-Pot slow cooker, or any combination of multiple techniques like these used in some kind of planned rotation or routined schedule.

Not every store has one shots. Ecig Express has them. Rose Milk is one you might look at for strawberry cream. It’s way cheaper than Mom and Pops, I think. Bull City has recipe packs....when you buy it, you get the recipe and all the flavors for said recipe. And some flavors solo can be one shots, more or less(like wonder flavors has quite a few).

I feel the same way exactly as you do about Diketones and everything being too weak as far as flavoring goes. I'm going to send you a private message.

Here's a good strawberry ice cream. I don't know how cheap it'll be and there's no one-shot that I know of. Some people will prefer Howards' more bold strawberry, and some may like my lighter strawberry. Only the individual can decide that for themselves. I hope this will help you. I got everything to make it from bull city flavors.

The reviews for Rose Milk are VERY good, and I am going to get it, but I am wondering about the percentage that I should REALLY USE- so that I get a STRONG FLAVOR from it, because it says to mix at around 12%.. and with my current mix of OMG, they said to use between 8 - 20%, but I am using 25%, and it tastes just like when it is pre-mixed to me, at 25%.

I am doubting that the recommended 12% would be enough for my tastes, since I am using 25% flavor concentrate to suit my taste buds which love strong flavors..(which their concentrates are actually a One-Shot.. I just did not know the terminology since they call it a "concentrate" at Mom and Pops, but it has several different flavors mixed into it), for my strawberries and cream- OMG.

I wonder what percent for Rose Milk would make it about an equal strength as the OMG- mixed at 25% flavor?

Mom and Pop's.. (where my OMG concentrate is sold), said to use between 8-20%, but that is NOWHERE NEAR ENOUGH FLAVOR for me, and I do think that their flavors- when sold premade- tastes much closer to when it is mixed at 25%, at a 50/50 ratio, and that is one thing I really like about Mom and Pop.. (despite the fact that I placed 70 online orders in 4 years with them, despite their high prices, and bought from a store.. that is now closed down.. for a couple of years prior to that.. and they were still rude as hell to me the 1 and only time I have ever had a customer service issue.
(Which is why I decided to DIY..only purchasing their concentrates, and not giving them any more of my money then I must so that I can still keep my ADV- is bc their premixed eJuices are strong enough for me- where most are not.)

They do have a strawberry milk of their own, but it is annoying that they only sell the flavor concentrates in 10mL and 120ml bottles. A midsize, maybe 30 ml bottle of concentrate would be much better for most people.

FYI, for anyone looking for some very good flavors, Mom and Pop's Vapor Shop "OMG" is a wonderful "strawberries and cream, heavy on the cream"- per the description.

I have not tried all of their flavors, because they have come out with a lot more flavors than they had a few years ago when there was a store nearby, & I did not love all of them, but I also did not try all of them that they carried in the store at that time. I do remember having a hard time deciding between a few of the flavors that I tried one day, that they did have at that time.

I am getting the small one-shot concentrates of: sweet strawberry, & strawberry milkshake, & MAYBE strawberry cheesecake or crazy strawberry. From my memory, I like crazy strawberry but it was not as good as sweet strawberry. I have not tried the strawberry cheesecake from them.

OMG has been my strawberries and cream ADV for several years now, with nothing matching up to it so far, and I have not had vapers tongue in several years. So.. I'm wondering if it is because I am avoiding certain flavors- since I have only been vaping this 1 one-shot concentrate, or if it is because their flavors are quite strong.. (tastes about like a 25% flavor concentrate mix to me).

-I cannot figure out why I no longer get vapers tongue? Maybe you just get it more when you are using week flavors or maybe it is so much more noticeable if the flavors are already weak..( but whatever the reason, I am grateful!)

I don’t know how much Rose Milk can be jacked up. I’m thinking the only way to find out is to do it and see what happens. I’ve used it at the recommended percentage and it’s fine for me, but like you said, you need heavy flavoring. Give it a shot!

Well, I just ordered a flavor concentrate from Mom and Pops in a small size, the sweet strawberry, and strawberry milkshake.

There is a recipe pack from Bull City that I am looking at. I saw a couple of One-Shots on this website (pic below) and then I saw this item that you can pick for any of the flavors they do one shots for, and I am not sure what this is..?
If it is just another way to order the one shot flavor, or if it is something you put in as an addition to a specific one shot flavor?

There you are @wildgypsy70 ! I have not heard back from you in some conversations I had sent you.. and good to see you are around! Hope you are doing well!

So, I spoke to liquid barn.. and that tastemaker is just another way to order the 1-shot flavors at either 15 mL or 60ml. They said any flavor that is not from liquid Barn is considered tastemaker and labeled that way.
