great shot man. this shot is visually appealing on its own merit (composition/color balance/weight/contrast etc) beyond being a picture of an amazing build. coils pics are usually so technical/clinical looking because you are supposed to look at the coils (the coils are the focus, not the picture itself). this is interesting because of the lines, shapes, colors and visual flows. someone who doesnt even know what coils are could enjoy this picture without ever understanding the craftsmanship and effort that we (builders) see/enjoy/appreciate when we look at these pics

For the amount of time and pain that went into this coil ... I'm not super happy with it. Doesn't help that i inlaid some wire before wrapping, didn't like it, pulled out out, and pulled on the indented wire pretty bad. But then, I get some amazing photos (or at least ones that I really enjoy!) from a stick that almost went straight to the scrap pile. And bonus ... It is a pretty good vape. And that, I didn't expect.

Not a build, but some useful information for mech users. @machine, think maybe my cartel boss is acting shit because it's stainless steel. Need me a brass bad boy by the looks of it :) couldn't steal it properly so had to do a screenshot. All credit goes to batterymooch, the man behind the ratings

Giving 430 grade SS a solid test, now
2x31 SS, 40g kanthal
0.75 ohms

This 430 from Crazy Wire is completely different than the junk from Creating Unkamen - this wire is super soft like you'd expect, and shiny - creating unkamen's is grey and hard as a rock, definitely not going to be vaping it, might make a good necklace or braid or something

Just kidding...that was just the first piece off the spool, rest doesnt seem bad at all - this made me laugh, though lol
Wouldn't surprise me ... I told you about my 6ft strand of reverse spooled .5 right in the middle of a spool lol. But in the end you cna't really beat the price ... most of the time. Got 2 spools of .3 that come off straight as F**K ... and a new spool of .4 that is criss crossed badly ... so hit or miss

thats a handy chart. i saw his first couple videos on this and its quite interesting for sure. when i did a quick capacity test between the boss and a chi you megan, the megan won by quite a bit, using the exact same cell/tank/coils. they are both ss tubes, but the megan has brass where it counts (the top contacts and the whole switch). the megan is also 'better' designed, in that the switch never gets hot and the whole mod stays cooler during use. in contrast to that, the boss had some hot button issues, and the whole mod was much warmer during use, which translates into wasted power/shorter battery cycles etc.

definitely a good excuse to start looking for a better 30mm tube for that modfather :D

I've experienced the button getting warm/hot but the battery and tube haven't seemed warm when using.
Gonna be a long look for a decent 26650 though :/

when i did my tests, i relentlessly chain vaped a full 5ml tank on both tubes, so that might have been part of the reason for the extra heat...but the chi you was still much cooler than the boss. what is the battery shop situation in the uk? do you guys have a shop like liion-wholesale or imr, or do you just pay the duty and fees to get them from the states? around here, we can get lucky sometimes. my local shop sold the ijoy lux mod, so they stock the ijoy 26650s (and more recently the 20700s as well). if i need a battery they dont sell here, i have to pay incredible amounts to get them from the states. literally today a package from liion-wholesale came in. my room mate got two 18350s and it cost her ~$65 cdn in the end

Tbh I've never stepped foot inside a vape shop, probably a sin haha I'm also mostly nocturnal so ordering online is the easiest thing for me. Plus as I got into DIY juice before I ever touched on doing my own coils I don't have or really want to search for new juices. Rather try and do my own thing and that way at least if they try taking flavoured juices away over here I'll be able to just find the necessary ingredients and fuck the law

Edit. Went completely off topic there, they're some crazy prices you're paying for a couple 18350s :/ again though I just buy online with my batteries too. Too used to just opening up ebay and finding what I want. Need to break that habit though

yeah the shops are a gamble. we used to have a few really good, oldschool guys who were good teachers for noobs. i was lucky to have them around when i started. now its pretty bad to say the least lol. i saw a customer ask the guy behind the counter about an rda on display, and the guy behind the counter said 'uhhhmm, i think thats the one you have to put wire and cotton into??' :grumpy:

in the last year or so, i have started to just buy everything online too, but there are some things (like batteries, and wick if i am in a pinch and cant wait for shipping) that are just easier to walk in and buy in person. even at the crazy mark-up on the price (ijoy 20700 was ~$20 cdn) its still cheaper than paying all the duty/customs/shipping myself. it only makes sense if a bunch of us order stuff together and split the extra fees and stuff. unfortunately for roomie and her 18350s, no one else needed anything this time.

this is definitely off topic lol...someone post a build! :teehee:

Interlock Fralien with a number of things that make me unhappy. Bad para-clap made for loose interlocks, overstretched the decore, bad spacing. All of that is offset by the gorgeous colors! Got me a 75w daylight bulb the other day ... makes a HUUGE difference!
6 ply .3 KA!, 30g Ni80, 38g Ni80, .16 ohm dual coil, 3mm ID, Mounted in the Vandy LiT.

Why thank you very much!! Community support really does mean alot. And yes I'm never truly 100% happy with my coils. But honestly If I ever get to the point where everything is always perfect is probably the point when I'll quit. I love the artistic aspect of it. But the challenge is probably the bigger driving force for me :D

And the truth is I probably wont quit if my work ever gets as good as the best builders. That's when I'll delve deeper into the photography side of it :teehee:

OK so I kept busy today ... sorry for spamming posts. Last one for today I promise.

More playing with the 46g.
.5 Ni80 Corrugated, 4 ply .4 KA1, 38g Ni80 clap, 46g KAD groove, 3mm ID, should be around .2 ohms.

Missed your edit. Yah it went extremely well. Wont lie ... Had couple hiccups. After the first couple mm's, or so, I broke the fuse when I sneezed and jerked a little lol. And I had to back up a couple of times cause the fuse doubled back on me, which I haven't had that happen in a while. I was scared of it ... But it's not nearly as fine as I was expecting. Don't get me wrong. It's some seriously thin wire. But it's not completely unmanageable.

I call that wire rage. And when it happens is when I drop everything right where it is and walk away. I don't even clean up. I just leave the mess until I've calmed down. It's been a bit ... but this is the last rage I had. This is 26g 1/2 clap twisted and 20g plain. The twist WAS straight and the 20g WAS coiled at 1mm. Was making a stitched exo-alien. Got so mad I pulled the 20g straight with my bare hands lol.38215616_384765112055767_3101793538283667456_n.jpg
