Flavoring bottles ?

I just realized all my flavorings have come in hard PET bottles. All are PG based flavors and now Ive reordered a bunch in larger sizes. Some I still have my original smaller 1&2oz size PET bottles to refill, but a bunch I tossed out when they were empty without thinking.
I have a ton of new HDPE dripper bottles, but no PET ones. Is there any issue with using HDPE bottles for storing flavorings Im using or do I really need to get some PET bottles instead ?

Actually glass would be an even better idea. Some flavors have compounds that will degrade any kind of plastic, leaving you with bad-tasting flavors that may be dangerous, if compounds from the plastic have leached into them.

Most likely true,,but being all thumbs, switching out to all glass isent in my future.
I use hdpe dripper bottles exclusively for my finished juice and evey though approved for food/beverage storage, they are a softer plastic. While vaping any chems is probably not the best idea, I guess I'd feel safer emulating the retailers and sticking to pet ones for flavor storage.

I have personally never had a problem with the plastic bottles my Flavorings come in, even with some I have had for a long time. They are kept in a dark cool place but not refrigerated. It is Nicotine that goes bad in my experience. Had e-Liquids in Plastic turn dark or even Black after a year but never had it happen with glass. Some have darkened but never enough for me to actually think they might have gone bad. Good Luck

They don't use it for SAFETY -- they use it because it's cheap!

If you want safety, and flavors that don't go bad on you... GLASS.

I'd get some PET bottles and transfer to them. I mix by weight. I like the ability to just squeeze out the amount of flavor needed. Glass is a PITA for me. I think for what we do, everything in glass would be ideal. I prefer PET bottles for convenience.

Come to think of it, Capella original bottles are of the squishy variety. I'm not certain as to which type of plastic they use tho.

I use HDPE or LDPE for flavors and rebottling PG and VG, but always glass for nicotine. I hate PET.

Funny, I just went through the same thing. I noticed the same as OP, and ended up getting some PET bottles for my flavors. As @AndriaD pointed out, glass is better, but I've heard that the rubber dropper tops for the glass bottles could be a problem w flavorings though so I stuck with PET for flavors & LDPE/HDPE for finished juice.

I made some menthol flavor base using PG and menthol crystals and put it in one of the little glass bottles with the dropper.

I think they are 10ml glass bottles with the plastic dropper.

I went back and the rubber part of the dropper had leached into the flavoring so it was ruined.
I could barely get the top off since it had almost bonded the top to the glass.

I stick with the regular caps now and have some droppers loose for when I need them.

Yep, this is pretty much what I had heard regarding the rubber tops. Either the rubber leaches to the flavor, or the flavor fades due to the porous nature of the rubber tops

Yeah, I don't ever use droppers in flavor bottles -- I use my syringes to measure, so I save the droppers for ejuice.

At one point, I got a couple of my main flavors from TFA in 15ml glass bottles -- so now, though I order the flavors from BCF in 4oz plastic bottles, I pour from those into the small glass bottles that I use out of, which still carry their original labels -- that way I'm not sticking the syringe into a whole 4oz bottle of flavor. I keep those under the counter so they're pretty much in the dark, pretty much of the time.

I always decant my 4oz bottles of INW shisha strawberry directly into one of the original Inawera 100ml glass bottles, because that flavor DOES have the potential to degrade plastic. None of my other usual flavors does, so they're fine in the plastic bottles they come in, till I pour some into the glass bottles I use.

The CAP bottles are ldpe or low-density polyethelene.

Funny,,,All my CAPs and in fact all flavorings Ive bought from NR came in PET bottles.

Just so I'm on the right page here.
PET bottles are crystal clear and of a harder, stiff type plastis.
L or HDPE bottles are more opaque and much softer.

I have never received a Flavoring Concentrate in a dropper bottle and since some flavorings have Alcohol in them that can eat the rubber dropper tops. I have gotten them in plastic drippers and got some drip tips on glass bottles from Flavorah.

The original 13ml bottles from Capella that we get from Bull City are the soft ldpe variety. 30ml and above are rebottled in PET. The white bottles like your nicotine comes in are HDPE.

Nicotine River doesn't sell the original 13ml bottles as far as I know. They rebottle everything in 10, 30, 60ml etc.. That's why your flavorings come in PET bottles.

BCF has the original CAP 13ml bottles.
