When you receive a coiling jig and you don’t have anything but paperclips to play with

Probably a 15 or 16g wire 7 wraps around 3.5mm id
no idea what metal it is
Maybe Ohming out to ~.001

Who wants to vape it??

Well paper clips are typically made of either stainless or galvanized steel. Assuming stainless, since it's the numbers we quick have access to, that's a .08-.12 ohm coil, depending on the grade.

dead rabbit rta came in today. put it on a 20700 tube with a quick set of 29/40 n80 aliens 4.5 3mm ~.17

the tank was easy to set up and wick. its giving good flavor and the airflow feels nice. it seems to have a slightly pronounced 'whoosh' to it, but i wouldnt call it loud. after half a tank, ill rate it a 'so far so good'.

I was wondering how that rta was, I’m looking for a top airflow tank. 3 core aliens?

yup they are just 3 cores. i feel like i should have used either wider wire, or just made a wider/5.5 wrap coil to fit the deck better, but this is a good first build so far. im glad i picked it up. the only other top airflow tank i have tried/liked/would recommend is the sapor 22mm, but its much smaller and more suited for little/mellow builds (its really good at them if you like that though).

I put 5 builds in this thing in the last 24 hours - this one is the winner, fused clapton staged with a fused clapton, first time doing that! 2x28g kanthal

Had to twist the ends together so the 46g one would bite with the 36g one

I get to immerse myself in trying some new builds this weekend!
Well I'm probably just going to sit back and enjoy others builds myself ... So post lots of pics for me :D

Would have been such a pretty coil :( The stags looked perfect ... but something was off somewhere and the fuse just got worse and worse as I got down the stick. Guess it just wasn't meant to be ...

Um... I finally built a successful 18 gauge build. Nothing fancy. Just 8 wraps, dual coil, in a bonza rda (barely barely fit), coming in at .08-.1... hits like a train. Takes a while for that big coil to cool off tho. Never thought I'd ever get 18g to work, but the bonza does great with it. A lil warm tho. But at .1 it's supposed to be around 175w so yeah, I guess that could be a good reason lol. Let me try to take a pic

 i hate that feeling when you are going along fine and things start to fall apart. the gods are fickle and confusing, but they must have wanted you to karate chop that for some reason  maybe you will learn a lesson from this that you wouldnt have otherwise :D

I've been toying with the idea of ni80 or something like that but idk. And I've got a 24g dual coil parallel 5wrap build in my troll v1.5 rda. It hits good too. Lowest ohm I ever got was 3 strands of 24g parallelled together with I think 3-4 wraps on the dual coils and it was .06. It was kind of lackluster tbh. I've got some alien coils in my drop dead rda, but they came from that 8-1 demon killer pack... I got it for like $5 more when I got my drop dead so I figured why not... Although I did notice, my aliens don't really look like aliens... I would moreso call it a triple (or possibly quad) core Clapton... The claptoning wire isn't wavy like an alien. It's round and straight, like a regular wire claptoned around it... Hits good with good flavor tho, and 0% headache for me to build... So the trade-off is worth it...

I like my lil mech mod btw, it's so small, fits in your hands wonderfully. Though it is a bit heavy (240g with no batteries or rda)
Hooowee! That's some monster wire there! I have some 18g laying around but I've never used it except for decores. I bet that thing get's hot as hell!
You should try some 2 core 22g fused claps in Ni80. It's one of my fav big wire vapes. 3.5mm ID, 5.5 wrap dual coil will hit ~0.08 prefire.

Yah man that's excellent! But please ... I do not belong in a category with meg and raymo. I have terrible consistency ... My fine wire work leaves a lot to be desired ... I still have so far to go ...

You guys are kidding me - I've never even made a corrugated, you're both way ahead of me there :grumpy: I struggle with plain ssfc, that's why I like plain old framed staples

I don't belong anywhere near Raymo category lmao

So I guess I better try corrugating this weekend, huh :grumpy: :coffee2::cheers:

Im at some crazy level huh? Well, I dont believe Im any different than anyone else here...I've just got more time in and thats it. You all are right there, just more time to "hone" in on tension and your there.

Rolling back the clock and playing with round wires...actually I dont think I every "built" with only round wire before when I started :D Its more of a fun build anyhow...24g Kart Build in the Reload X RDA

Warmed up my staggering and tested Carambrda's claim that folding does Not change the angle of a stagger - he is right! I started fusing from the swivel end (where it was looped) with drill in reverse, went super fast, worked just fine

First series build for me in forever, 2x29/40 k 0.54 ohms

PSX_20181027_120210.jpg

The messups are because I messed around with the stagger before fusing, scooting it around and squishing/stretching the spaces

You know I've never thought of starting on the swivel end. Hell I don't think I've ever seen it done. Does everyone do it that way or was it just on a whim

I don't know of anyone who does it that way, but I've done it before on other builds, just reverse the drill

PSX_20181027_131510.jpg

Messed up the spacing on one strand, gonna go for more later haha

I swore to myself I wouldn't get on the drill today. But I just HAD to play with some wire. I got something I can use next time I do get on the drill ...
About 6 inches of basic 3 loop 32g vertebraid. And now my back is KILLING me ... this is why I can't braid :(
