How do I upload pictures?

I feel like a dumb ass asking this but I have searched and played around with it and can still not figure out how to post or upload pictures in a forum. I'm using an android when I'm on the site and wanted to post a picture that I have in my gallery. Please help! :(

I'm curious too. I know how to embed an image from a url but notice others upload photos that are marked with the vu domain and was wondering how they do that since it would be easier than uploading a photo to an exterior server and then embedding it.

You'll need a host to put your pictures in for a ULR, like Photo bucket or such, then when you hit reply you'll see an icon that looks like a horizon picture, click on that and a window drops down and asks for your ULR, you put the photo's ULR in the box and then post your picture

I'm right there with ya @vaperature There should just be an icon above the text box where we can post a pic from phone

That's because if you don't have photo bucket or tiny pic's(host) you use our forum as the host but you only have so many your able to post that way

I can totally understand why vu is doing it this way. Hosting the photos internally would eat up quite a bit of bandwidth.

Ok, I'm on photo bucket and I have a couple pics on there. How do I post those on VU forum? So it shows up and it's not a link

@vaperature I used photo bucket, uploaded a photo on there, then went to links to share (the icon that looks like a chain link), then copied the link that said IMG, then clicked on the chain link icon above the text box on the VU forum, pasted that link into it, and then posted it. See how simple that was lol *sarcasm*

I already knew how to do that but was asking about something completely different actually, but Whiskey explained that to me. Thanks.

@Whiskey ok then... thank you for explaining this. So now I have another question....since I have been using "upload a file" to share pictures and I am only allowed a limited number of uploads...how do I delete the content I have uploaded so I don't max out my allowance? Now that I know I will try to embed my pictures in the future and thank you for explaining this very much

Not sure on that, I have never used the forum as host to my pictures, maybe someone will see this and give you a better answer to that?

FWIW, there is also www.imgur.com as well, I've used them for like four years now.
Very easy to use, they have apps for android and iOS, and they have a very nice image editor for touching up images.

They have free and paid accounts. With the paid, you get more thumbnail sizes, you can see more of your gallery (you can post as much as you like for free, but there is a limit on how many you can actually see in your account), other fun things. :)

It's $25 a year for paid. I pay $12.50 twice a year so it's a smaller hit. Quite well worth it if you post a lot of images, IMHO.

When you enter text to post here, look next to the smiley icon along top, right next to it you see an icon that looks like sun and a mountain.....see it?

Yes I do and it says to image url and I don't what to do. I am very challenged with computers sorry.

Ok, that is where you will put the link to your picture, when you up load a picture to Photo bucket , they give your picture a ULR its to the right of your picture in Photo bucket you copy the direct link into here where I just showed you, do a couple tests and I bet you'll get it.

I guess Drop Box doesn't work the same as Photo Bucket. ADHD doesn't help the learning process, either.
