Hello everyone Pizza Dave here, delivering a review of the Serpent Elevate by Wotofo. The serpent name has been around Wotofo for some time, and the Elevate is the latest entry with the moniker. This is a collaboration with Matt from the Suck My Mod Youtube channel and is definitely not his first rodeo. He did some major tweaks to the serpent series including top air flow, a post less deck like the Recurve rda, and a new media blasted finish which is something I haven’t seen in so many colors before. Let’s dive down, check out the deck and air flow, see how it performs, and as always, I will see you down at the bottom for my final thoughts.
Disclaimer: This device was sent to me by Wotofo for review.

BUILD DECK AND WICKING
At first glance, I felt like I had seen this deck before. It deeply resembles the Wotofo Recurve deck thanks to its single coil design but use of 4 post holes. This works great because some coils are wrapped overhand and others are done underhand. The 4 post holes allow you to install with ease with no need to massively reshape your coils. The coil rod that comes with this rta also works for precutting the leads. Simply slide the coil into the rod and slide to the “L” end of the rod. The “L” length is the ideal length for this deck. Snip it there and pop it in the deck. It is very simple to install coils on and is easy for both beginners and advanced vapors alike.
Wicking the elevate is pretty straight forward. It has channels along the side which guide the cotton down to the wicking ports. To get the best wicking possible, thinning the wicks is a must. You will also want to snip them, so it is just barely past the ports on the bottom. I tossed a handful of builds in this, and each time I nailed the wicking. I was surprised since the deck is high and relies on wicking heavily, but it didn’t seem to be a battle at all.

AIR FLOW
The Serpent Elevate is a top air flow rta like how the Themis or Zeus Dual by Geekvape. The air flow comes in the top, down the sides, and meets up with ports of the deck which guide the air right at the coil. It is leak free and has adequate air for a single coil. I felt some turbulence with this air flow, but it isn’t terrible. It is a little noisier than some of those other top area flow rtas, but not all that terrible.

HOW IT VAPES AND MORE DETAILS
So, with all the changes SMM made to the Serpent series, did he do enough to ELEVATE it over other top air flow rtas? He nailed it. The flavor that I get from this rta is one of the best I have experience with a top air flow design. Every build worked well with no dry hits, floods, or leaks. The top fill of this is nice and smooth as well, which only adds to the enjoyment of vaping it. The bubble glass is a must in my opinion, as its 3.5ml capacity goes down at a rapid pace. The straight glass goes empty ungodly quick and takes a little bit longer to fill as there isn’t a huge gap between the glass and the chimney section.
NOTES FROM WOTOFO: The bubble glass that came with mine is PMMA, but I am told the retail version will be made of glass. I was a bit skeptical of PMMA as a tank as well, so I am glad they are going to glass on this. They also are telling me that it will come with a coil trimming tool, which I can only assume is another coily knockoff like Vandy Vape is putting in their rebuildables these days.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I won’t sugar coat it. This is my favorite top air flow RTA released in 2018. It is easy to build on, and the wicking worked well every single time. The biggest pro by far is the flavor it produces. I was able to get a great flavorful vape running it at just 45 watts, and that also equates to extended battery life throughout the day. The top air flow design is leak free as well, so it makes it great for beginners and for all of us who hate leaky tanks! Another pro for me is the finish. Each one is media blasted for a unique look I haven’t seen before. This finish could also be a con to some, as it might be tough to get a matchy matchy look with this on top. The serpent logo on the chimney could also go away, but other than that I really couldn’t find much for cons. Having only cosmetic cons is a good problem to have. Way to go Matt and Wotofo!
OVEN TEST
If this were to accidentally go into the pizza oven would I go out and get another? Heck yes. It is my favorite top air flow rta thus far and I see myself using this one for a long time.

REVIEW CRITERIA: I use each item extensively for about two weeks to ensure I have collected enough data to adequately write a review. I use the same e liquid in tanks or rdas throughout all my reviews to ensure that I am comparing apples to apples between all modern equipment. I do not post reviews until I feel confident that I have used all products enough to give an educated review. The reason I started doing reviews was due to poor purchasing decisions in my vaping infancy about two years ago. Back then, I purchased several different pieces of hardware without really enjoying them and I hope my reviews can guide people into spending their hard-earned money more wisely than I did! ****Keep in mind that some items I receive may be pre-release and not in retail packaging. Quality may be less than the finished product and what is in the package may differ from the retail package as well.
