The FedGov is supposed to be limited in its powers to doing only those things explicitly authorized by the Constitution. I think the ruling in this case is correct, because the law in question cited the Commerce Clause as its authorization. The Commerce Clause has already been abused beyond any standard of sanity since Wickard v. Filburn, and it's about time a court decided that something, anything, actually does not affect interstate commerce.

Now if you want to ban genital mutilation of minors, I'm all for it. But do it at the state level, or find some justification other than the Commerce Clause, and make it equally applicable to minors of both sexes.
The "Doctor" in question was "performing a service" in commerce which could be considered a crime against humanity. Seems it would apply to regulate said commerce under federal law.

While I am all for limiting the Federal governments powers in test cases, I would hope we could apply a standard of humanity in picking and choosing when we do so. At the very least, strip the operating license of the doctor in question rather than strike down the law until state measures are in place to properly address the issue. Then try the child abuse in a separate proceeding.

Yep. I'm still trying to understand how this is in any way a concern of the US. It didn't happen on US soil, and the "victim" wasn't a US citizen.
Gotta ask yourself why there is so much interest in the Press in pushing for sanctions against Saudi for this when they did nothing to help the families of 3,000 Americans killed in the 9-11 attacks seek sanctions and reparations for their loss.

It lays bare their complicity with Deep State Intelligence communities working against the strategic & economic interests of the United States.

The Commerce Clause only applies to interstate commerce. Then there's also the question whether the so-called "doctor" was paid? If not, I would contend that no "commerce" occurred.

Be careful. That slope you're standing on is very slippery.

By all means. But I'm pretty sure both medical licensing and child abuse are State issues, not Federal.

and nobody find this the least bit strange......none of the pussyhat wearing dipshits spewing White hate and screaming at the sky find it at all odd their Party is running ex- spooks for congress. They don't stop to think about it.

B-b-b-b-b-b-b-but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Putin was KGB!

That Putin accusation seems a little less sincere after they elect a bunch of ex-spooks.

chances are i have seen a bit more than just my own

I have an apple tree in my yard. For some reason, I don't see how that qualifies me to give advice to an apple orchard farmer. ;)
