I would definitely get a coil calculator and ohms law calculator. Check out steam-engine.org or an app called Vape tool on Android. For a dual set-up you'll have to have 10 warps to barely get over .1 ohms. That's really low. If you're using a mech is down right close to dangerous. Need a great battery. Sony vtc5a would be a prime choice.

^^^ 20 gauge is good for a lot of stuff depending on how you are using it.

thank you so much. I thought i had one ready to blow up the other day with some 22kenthol so i figured I'd learn more before I decided to mess with any more rba's

I guess I jyst don't really know what im doing or what any of this means. I make my own juice after a20 plus year habit and I just want the most from my flavor.

Your resistance will be very low with that wire. It would take a 8/7 wrap to get 0.1 Ohms in a single coil. With a dual coil the same wrap would be 0.05 Ohms and not a lot of mods can run that low even in TC. I would suggest 24, 26, and 28 gauge for starting out.

I had a double 8 wrap using it in wattage mode on a smok x-priv 22ga. Ken on this tank

I'd get you a pack of 26 or 28. Something a little higher on the ohm scale. 20g will come out low. It's still a good wire once you figure things out. With my Vapes I usually try to stay between.15 and .1o ohms. Mind you not 1.5. but way low. Get on one of those calculator and some YouTube build videos for basic coils.

Perfect I will check that out. Thanks again I've been a fan of the page for about a month while learning my flavors you guys are very helpful figured on something like this I just felt trust towards you guys so I figured I'd join to keep mine from blowing my face off. I will read up aches chime back with any questions. Thank you

I DIY as well and I get excellent flavor with 0.3 Ohm coils, but I do rock some 0.1 Ohm coils as well. You don't always need to rock super low Ohm coils to get flavor. Learn Ohm's Law, learn basic coil building, you gotta learn to walk before you can run.

Welcome to VU BTW!

Lots of folks here to help you on your journey!

10 wraps around a 3mm jig will get you 0.1 ohm with dual coils

just use a regulated mod, and check out http://www.steam-engine.org/wirewiz.html - keep in mind it does single coils, so halve your resistance for duals

not needed for regulated mods, but an easy ohms law calculation for battery safety is voltage divided by resistance equals amps

See that's where I'm lost that entire keep in mind part I did download the app someone had mentioned earlier and it seems to be pretty legit as long as I keep it above .15 I should be good correct?

also how do I know if I have a regulated mod? This is what I have in my arsenal at the moment. I like to switch flavors a lot.

Regulated means it has a chip in it and safety features like maximum current, maximum wattage, low voltage cutoff, short circuit protection

it's the opposite of a mechanical mod (a hunk of metal with a battery inside it, no circuitry)

those are all regulated mods you have there

Regulated mods can malfunction, too, so still need to be wary of their condition and function. A mod will cap either wattage, voltage, or minimum resistance - most regulated mods require resistance of 0.1 or greater, some can go a little lower. If it's too low, the mod won't supply power to the coil at all....if the mod is functioning correctly
