E liquid becoming harsh

Hi there,

I've prepared this recipe (http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/2523255/Raspberry's blood v2) for about 7 times (my own recipe :)). It's always good but on this occasion, as I am through the middle of 60 ml bottle, it has turned very harsh. It never happened before, maybe because I usually prepare 30 ml? Anyone knows what may have happened and is there anything I can do to rescue the remaining 30 ml?

Thanks!
Federico

Takes longer to vape 60 ml than 30 ml so more steep/blend time.
Some mixes can change a LOT with longer blend times.
Or maybe your nicotine you use in the mix got more oxidized?

Thanks "The Cromwell". It was fine at the beginning, this liquid does not need much steep (to my humble sense of taste). I was also thinking of nicotine oxidation, but when that happens the liquid tastes peppery, and is not the case.

There are a few of my own recipes that I only make 30mls of because they get funky if I make bigger bottles. Perhaps that is your problem, as well. The only other thing I can think of would be are your flavorings old?

If that’s not it and @The Cromwell ’s suggestions aren’t it, then I have no idea.

Thanks for all the hints, guys. I usually shake the bottle, don't think is that. It might be that the liquids are old. I noticed for example that I need to add much more Coconut Extra TPA to have some flavour, while I usually had to decrease at the beginning of the flavouring bottle. If I have to guess which of the ingredients is wrong that's going to be a problem :-O

I've read of people adding some saline water, vinegar, etc to knock off any harshness. Any suggestion with that?

ecf???

Well at least over here that is not auto censored like VU is over there.
I only go to ECF for Mooch's blog.
Been well over a year since I even saw any forum posts over there.

Not sure if its worth it to you or not to find the root cause or if it matters... But here are some thoughts...

Have you tried this in a different mod ie tank, rda etc?

I have had juice give off different flavors or taste different (but not what I would call harsh) in different setups.

Also had juice give off different flavors I did not care for at certian temps/watts.

While I hate to admit it but I can have things drive my OCD crazy and spend more time than its worth to find/stop something that is bothering me personally... If not tried mix up testers of each of the flavors and see if one produces what you are experiencing.

Also not going to say it cant be the nic, but... I have left nic with plenty of air in the bottle for an extended amount out of the fridge as I forgot about it. It never created a harsh vape - but I do use salt nic and not freebase unsure if that would matter when it comes to oxidation..

I have found that if I do not rinse a syringe well after using certain flavors and then use it for nic that the next time I use the nic it has oxidized badly.

I normally use a dedicated nic syringe however I have messed up a time or two
