Recurve RDA vs. Wasp nano RDA vs. Drop solo RDA

Hello everybody. I have been on the hunt for a new single coil rda that is good. I have narrowed it down to the Recurve, the Drop solo, and the Wasp nano. I am really looking for flavour and no leaking. I would really appreciate some opinions on this. Thanks.

I have the Recurve & the Wasp Nano. The Recurve is slightly restricted but smooth & quiet. The Wasp is trickier to get it not to whistle. A lot more airflow. Flavor on both are good. I don’t have the Drop. No leaking will be up to you not to overdrip or over squonk. Good luck!

I have those RDAs except the wasp. However I have the Pixie, the VLS Oumier, and various clone RDAs (hadaly, Narca, etc.) and these are reported by reviewers to have better flavor than the Wasp so I feel qualified to weigh in.

I say go for the Hermetic by Blitz. Much better flavor wise than my drop solo, dr SQ, or recurve. I'd say it's a different flavor than my clones but neither is better than the other really.

Also it's just different because I can run claptons in the Hermetic whereas my smaller clone RDAs do better flavor wise with parallel builds in them.

Here's the guy Vic's review on it. He's one of my favorite reviewers. Especially because he compares the new RDAs/RTAs to previous ones so it makes it easy to know where the review stands in comparison.

I have heard very good things about the SMM Hermetic RDA but I have heard the draw is REALLY tight. I prioritize the recurve over the Hermetic because of the looks, the build deck, and the draw. It is also the reason the Drop Solo is in my top 3 wishlist right now. It is expensive but it is very airy.

It's pretty tight but not anymore so than the Solo with 4 holes. I can't get the Solo or recurve to taste nearly as good no matter how tightly I restrict their airflows. Even if I make it tighter than the Hermetic neither comes close. If you want though, just order the Recurve or Solo and get the Hermetic on vapordna for $5. I just got the Bonza V1.5 so I could get the Hermetic in black for $5.

Yeah tbh I like building on the Solo a lot more than the recurve. And I like the Hermetic's deck even more than that because it makes it super easy if I ever want to do parallel builds in it and claptons/single wire builds are just as easy if not easier than the Solo. Just a bit easier to make a coil that's whatever width you want. Rather than being forced to make it a certain width due to the posts or to have to manipulate the legs if it's thinner/wider than what the posts want it to be. Or to have to pinch your coil back together if it's not wide enough and you're doing a contact coil.

Yeah coil positioning on it is easier too. It's got a nice little groove for you to put the coil in and that's where it tastes best. The Solo it's a little more of trial and error with finding your optimal height and sometimes you have to line it up with the airflow. A little bit more time consuming but both are pretty easy to build on. I just like the Hermetic deck a bit more. Squonks better too FYI. Less prone to leaking when it's in your pocket.

Both are good but yeah obviously the other two would be better if you like a more airy draw. I just feel like if you tried the two you'd get over the restriction really quick lol. The flavor really is that much better. Recurve is better flavor wise than the Solo but the Hermetic is much better than either.

I had all 3 . Sold the Nano , it was a painful to build ( I have large hands ) great flavor but not my cup of tea . The Recurve is my go to , ease of build and once you get the right coil placement down , it kicks ass . The Drop is also easy enough to build , but it is airier than the Recurve but flavor is on point . Both are good , both deliver a different vape experience . It is all up to you and what you like . Hope this helps .

Appreciate all the advice but I am very set on the three mentioned above. I am sure I would love the hermetic but its not on the site I usually use and I really like the Drop solo because of the top caps, the looks, and the airflow.

I am a very airy kinda guy. I am probably going to go for the Drop Solo but I cant get past the double placement and drip tip of the recurve. Thanks for the opinions both of you.

I have a RECURVE. its the only RDA I have ever used, so I can't compare it to anything else. but I will tell you that flavor is off the charts compared to any tank I ever used.

Just picked up a Hermetic and some Cookie Twist juice for $29 shipped, thanks for the heads up on the great deal!

I have the Drop Solo and the Recurve, but both of them are clones. I'll chip in anyway.

No matter what build I put in the Drop I get spitting and popping. The Recurve is great. It's quiet and to me has better flavor than the Drop. I found both of them easy to build and wick, and they both squonk fine and wick juice to the coil fine. The Drop might be wicking a little too well - maybe that's where that popping is coming from...too much juice wicking into the cotton inside the coil when the device isn't being used.

ETA: There's a Hermetic for sale in the Hardware section right now.

I had the ReCurve but didn’t like it at all.. leak proof? No way, it leaked on me but that’s not why I got rid of it. It didn’t produce much flavor imo. I also didn’t like the fact that the leads were constantly sitting in liquid. Think I even notice some staining on the insulator piece in the short time I’ve used it. It looked cool and concept was nice but didn’t pan out for me.

Anyhow my go to would be the drop solo, it’s my daily. I love the easy build and size of the well. Favor has been way better for me on this device. Like any RDA, it does leak especially when you over squonk or leave it on its side. I’ve been switching back between the metal or PMA barrels..yes it comes with both!

Never tried the wasp.
