Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of Wotofo Faris RDTA. Please see bottom for disclaimers and links. Note this is not marked as a sample version.

Introduction:
The Wotofo Faris RDTA is the latest RDTA from very popular vape company Wotofo. They don’t really need much of an introduction these days as everyone knows who they are but from my experience have been pretty hit and miss. The recurve was a good hit and their nudge 22 wasn’t bad either but their flow tank, flux mod, warrior RDA, and a few others have been pretty bad and quality is an issue although i have seen some good improvement in their quality as of late. RDTAs in general have seem to been phased out as of late in favor of squonking RDAs. The Faris RDTA It’s a 24mm DTL RDTA that is also a combo RDA and can be used as either one, with a postless style deck and 3ml standard capacity. It’s available in 5 colors Black, Rainbow, Gold, Gunmetal, and SS. Looking around online I see it runs around 30 USD with lots of sites to by from. Elementvape has it in that price range.

Initial Impressions
When I first got this RDTA I was pretty surprised. Mostly because RDTAs just aren’t being made these days as they seemed to have died out in favor of squonking RDAs. So of course you can squonk this RDTA as expected. But outside of that it had a pretty nice design and a postless deck and side airflow so i figured it might be pretty decent. ALso been a while since i’ve gotten a gold atomizer which i like so happy with that and i really like the clear and gold flake resin tip as well.

Build Deck and Wicking (pics above)
Let’s talk about the build deck now. It’s a pretty standard postless deck which is a personal favorite of mine but which also means you have to precut your leads. The good thing is wotofo includes a coil lead measuring tool as well to make life easy. I didn’t use it but it appears to be a good size. Using a labeled tool I found leads at 6-7 MM depending on coil size works best. Still the tool makes it really easy to get your coils built and ready to install. You also can install the coils 1 at a time as each lead gets its own hole and combined with the included tool makes it really easy to build on even for beginners. They use decent quality phillips/flathead combo screws and all 4 spares are the same. Better screws and more options would have been nice though. The post screws come in from the side so flat wire leads won’t be twisted when installing and it works great for flat and round wire coils with no issues. I’d recommend a 3.5mm ID coil personally but you can fit a 4mm pretty easily as well and probably a little bigger. Overall nothing groundbreaking but just a well done postless deck and the included tool makes it easy to build on for even new builders.

Wicking on this one is super easy. All RDTA’s really are wicked the same way for me as it just works. I cut my leads so they are just long enough to go into the holes but don’t show in the glass of the tank and i do a little angle cut as well. I actually have an old video you can check out here

on how to wick a RDTA

Performance
Performance wise, I used it as a dual coil RDTA as intended. You could run a single fat coil as well and they even include some inserts to make the wicking holes smaller, but personally i was never a fan of running single coils in a RDTA designed for dual coils as they never seem to work as well as a good single coil RDTA. I ran 4 builds in it. 3 fancy builds at 3mm-4mm ID and one simple round build at 3.5mm ID. It’s DTL for sure and quite airy not a restricted DTL vape at all. Performance though was pretty damn good. Even with the round wire build flavor was good but it really shines with the fancy builds like most DTL atomizers these days. I wouldn’t say it’s tops for a dual coil RDA but as far as RDTAs go not many options these days so in the land of the blind the 1 eyed man is king. My only complaint on performance is the top cap gets really hot even with the round wire builds.

Overall Impressions, Details, and Extras
It’s a slightly angled down side airflow RDTA with 3 good sized air holes on each side. You can adjust it by spinning the top part to close off 1 hole on each side at a time. The air adjust is easy to do but not on a stopper. It’s helped by the fact there are notches to lock the top cap in place and line up the air which also makes it easy to screw on and off your mod. The air is a little loud but no whistle on any setting.

Filling is interesting on this RDTA. It is squonk compatible and comes with a squonk pin so you can fill it that way via squonking or you can fill it from the side. The side has a rubber plug you can remove to expose the fill hole. It’s hard for me to get out though without any tools as i don’t have nails so it’s much easier for me to squonk with. I would have preferred them make that plug easier to remove or use a different fill method.

There is a good amount of accessories that come with it, It comes with a standard 810 Resin friction fit drip tip and a delrin 810 friction fit tip but no 510 tip adapter, 2 tips is nice but i wish they included a 510 adapter. The drip tip fits nice. Not too snug but not too loose and you can use any of your own 810 tips. It comes with 2 tanks as well, both are 3ml but one is a clear glass and the other one is a frosted glass. It can also be used as a RDA as it comes with an adapter where you can remove the glass section and screw on a metal bottom making it a RDA. The problem is though much like the recurve it’s not good as a dripper as there is really no juice well so it’s best to not use his as an RDA. The Wotofo Faris RDTA also includes plenty of extra o-rings, 4 spare post screws (all phillips/flathead combo), 1 allen wrench, 1 screwdriver, squonk pin, 1 extra fill hole plug, 2 wick hole adapters for single coil, 2 pieces of cotton, and 3 coils. The coils are clearly labeled which is great as well. They are ni80 framed stapeled clapton coils 28+38x9+28+36 3mm ID 5 Wraps .33 ohms each. Excellent job at labeling the coils! You also get the cool coil lead cutting tool.

The quality on the Faris RDTA is solid. The o-rings are all nice and fit well but the post screws could be better. Really outside of the post screws and the top cap being a little on the thin side i don’t have any complaints so it’s good enough for the price point. The top cap does get really hot though really easily. The coloring is quite nice as well, I have the golden one and it’s a shiny gold with matching resin clear/gold flake tip. It’s a 24mm diameter RDTA with nothing that bulges out. The 3 ml capacity is pretty small, better with squonking but not many RDTAs on the market recently to compare it with so can’t complain much. Branding is nice and simple. Just a Faris logo engraved in a matching color on the top cap so well done there.

Pros:
  • Good enough Build Quality
  • 2 Standard 810 Drip Tips
  • squonkable
  • clear glass and frosted glass included
  • plenty of spare parts
  • nice smooth AFC
  • easy to wick and build
  • included coils clearly labeled
  • included coil lead cutting tool
  • no whistle on any air setting
  • color options (5 total)
  • Good flavor for a RDTA
  • included cotton
Cons:
  • no 510 drip tip adapter included
  • post screws could be better quality
  • fill plus is hard to remove
  • 3 ml capacity is a little low
  • air flow is a little loud
  • does not work well as a dripper or in RDA mode
  • top cap gets really hot
Conclusion
So with all that said, do I recommend this RDTA?I don’t like to do a hard yes or no, this one i’m going to lean towards the yes. it kind of sucks that the market has died down for RDTAs but this one is the best i’ve had in a limited amount of options on the market this year. I wouldn't get it to use as an RDA personally but if you were dead set on wanting a new RDTA this is the one to get currently. I don’t have a spot on my sheet for RDTAs anymore so I won’t be adding this to my sheet of recs linked down below. But if more start showing up that are good again i’ll re add them.

This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.
