E-Grip Dry Hits - Help?

Hi,

Overall, I am a satisfied E-Grip owner. Love the form factor and taking a break from rebuilding is a pleasure.

That said, I am getting a lot of dry hits with my E-grip. I have changed coils and played with the air flow, from tight to loose and I am still getting dry hits. All my liquid is 50/50 and I usually leave the setting on 8 watts, which is enough for me. I will give some primer pulls, but that only helps for a very short period.

Other than trying the new RBA for the E-Grip, does anyone have any suggestions? I like hassle free vaping, but not hassle free, dry hit vaping. ;)

Thanks in advance for any help and insight!

I've had much better luck using the Aspire BVC coils in my egrip.

They need to be the regular bvc, not the one for the Nautilus.Just swap out the pin from the botbottom of the coil and it should work fine.

Thanks much. Great tip for this guy hoping to find one under some tree somewhere.

I love my egrip, but I often have that same problem. I find that opening and closing the little latch over the liquid refill area seems to fix the dry hits - you can see bubbles in the tank when you do that. Also I can only use on the lowest setting or I get burning (it's not the juice). But I have a couple of RBA heads on the way, so I'm really hoping that will fix the problem.

Do you open and code the air flow a couple of times? Then, how open do leave it? Thanks!

Tried that. I find the airflow makes no difference in the dry hits. At least not to me. I tried leaving it wide open, I tried closing it as much as I could - not a huge difference in airflow either way, and didn't help with the dry hits. But opening and closing the latch seems to work.

Think the person meant to try opening & closing the part over where the e-liquid itself goes.. not the adjusting of airflow itself. Kinda resets the whole vacuum thing... which should force some air in for wicking improvement, at least temp. Live longER & vape on! Merry Christmas too.. Ho Ho Ho! ;)

You can puff (blow) through the drip tip a couple times, that seems to work.

The great thing is that the Aspire BVC coils are way cheaper than the Joyetech heads.

I am trying a combination of the above suggestions and all seems to be working flawlessly. Thank you to all who chimed in. Happy Holidays to all!

LOL That was exactly what I said:p I have a feeling my current coil isn't that great - this was one of the original coils, so I think I'll try a new one and see if the performance improves.
