E-cig vs Cig

I’m sure someone somewhere has done this, I just haven’t seen the comparison anywhere. Let’s say you have a 10ML tank filled with a e-liquid at 3MG of nicotine. How many cigarettes is that equivalent to? I’m sure that are other issues to consider or if there’s a way to actually make the comparison, just curious.

That’s true, but if you use a Squonk device, several have a bottle that is near 10ML. I use a RSQ that has a 7.5ml bottle with a RECURVE RDA, which has a small well that holds liquid.
There may not be a accurate manner to determine. I’ve been vaping for many years and just had someone ask me the question, didn’t really have a answer.
Guess the question should be for every ML of fluid @ 3MG how does that compare to the nicotine in X number of cigarettes.

I think most of the squonks i have used are with 8ml bottles sorry i wasnt trying to nitpick i am also intrested in the question. Just thought it would be better with a realistic size tank esp if someone random that dosnt vape is asking. I know you said someone asked you. Anyway i would like to know the answer out of curiosity lol

Not sure about the 3mg. Extremely small nic level to smoking. I know that much.

I just base it on what I used to smoke and my current mg. That's good enough for me.

When you order juice some websites will tell you what each mg is equivalent to. Like a xxmg=full flavor - xxmg=lights etc. That might be a better reference point. Then just add up the number/amount you smoked a day.

No worries, didn’t think that at all.

Also depends on what cigarette your using for comparison. There are king size filters but there are also like 1mg cigarettes out there. I have smoked Kent and mevius 1mg before.

What is the person's motivation in this question?

Plain curiosity, I was visiting my local casino filling the area around me with clouds of blueberry crumble and a young lady sat down beside me. She was a smoker and indicated that she wanted to quit. During our conversation I told her, I had quit a two a day cigar habit with the help from vaping, the question came up. Honestly, I had never given it much thought.

I think a few years back I counted on my 1.5 ohm setup at like 2 or 3ml a day. But that was at 18mg to start then down to 12mg and a new setup at that point.

Juice will be about that for newer vapors at the right nic level. Think that was around the same for four of us that gave it up then. 2-3ml @ diff nic mg's....I was a good 1-2 pack a day smoker for years.

Now I'm blowing through juice but sub ohming. My setup is both for flavor and well a few clouds. I can't compare it these days.

I haven't seen a break-down that I trust yet. The absorption rate and process are different between the two as well as the delivery rates dubious. Obviously "habit" is a factor as well, e.g. two packs a day vs xxx mills per day. And then of course there's the harm factor. Nicotine itself has proven to have little harm beyond being habit forming, e.g. addictive. It's everything else that one enhales from a cigarette that is substantially harmful and that is the focus of most studies.

I quit smoking about 2 months ago, 1/2 pack a day, 1/2 cig at a time. I would rarely get a "buzz" from the cigs. if I vape at the same ratio as per cig, I get a buzz easy. 6mg juice. ymmv

Math on comparing nic intake with vaping vs smoking is very difficult.
Many variables.

Yeppum, I agree. But you’d think with all the discussions these days on vaping vs cigarettes that someone would have figured out how to one to one comparison/study on the topic.

Whoa nelly, that’ll make your eyes glaze over... thanks for the info. It seems obvious that there’s no real way to say that a bottle of liquid at X level of nicotine equals X number of cigarettes.

Good info in there on toxins from vaping vs smoking or dual use though.
The tables are the simplest to understand..
Well partially understand for me anyway :D

And yep maths.
