Polished or sanded contacts?

Do you high gloss polish your copper and brass contacts, or sand them with a less mirror finish on your mech contacts?

This applies to hybrid mods and the non hybrid single battery tube mods

I take a pink pencil eraser to all contacts and then rub some white vinegar on the points and let it dry and then hit all contacts with a spritz of this stuff and let it dry

Sorry for the incomplete message...I had to chase a kitten and I hit reply I guess.

Edit: The only places I’ll use the contact spray is where I won’t be inhaling it:

The contact the pushed the battery up to complete the circuit.

Hell, I’ve been known to hit each side of the battery with contact spray and let it air dry...could be a placebo effect, but after going through that process, the mod seems to hit much better than without going through that process.

Do things by the book...just be sure that you are the author

I polish the 510 and button contacts with a buffing and polishing wheel once a week to a mirror finish. Might be overkill but it has been working for me for the last year.
I mainly use hybrid mechs rarely use my non hybrids anymore. I'll have to have a go at your process.

A polished contact is recommended over a sanded contact because even the microscopic scratches are less contact area. Basic conductivity principle.

I've had some good luck mixing a pinch of salt, vinegar and baking soda to make a paste like substance, then scrubbing with a toothbrush. The baking soda/vinegar polish up the metal while the salt 'sands' it.

Yeah but you will get an uneasy surface as you cant control where the bristles go.
