I know that one is lithium manganese and the other is lithium nickel.
Iv'e heard thar INRs are supposed to have a shorter recharge cycle, but besides that what are the differences in regards to safety, longevity, usage, etc..

After a bit of a Google search to find the kind of answer you're looking for, it appears INRs fall somewhere in between IMRs and ICRs in terms of safety and shouldn't suffer thermal run away when handled and treated sensibly. They are also subject to highish discharge rates of up to 10amps or there abouts. So would be ok for regulated mods running RBAs and stock coils but not sub ohming at high wattages. For that you'd want to use an IMR.

There is a good forum out there called candle power forum and these guys are battery geeks for sure you can find a multitude of info on there about the batteries we use and their safety ect. Whenever a new battery gets introduced to us vapers I always head there to see what they say about them before buying.

Very similar internal resistance. The thing is....NO CURRENT CHEMISTRY is designed for the discharge rates of sub-ohm vaping. Even the Sony VTC series batteries are designed to be used in pairs in applications requiring a high amount of drainage....but nothing approaching <.7ohm loads. "Safer" chemistry is subjective...and seems to be adequate in 20-30amp pulse discharge cells. Beyond that, I tend to agree with @Hobby Kid
