I need good C rechargeable batteries. I have looked on Amazon but it's a mixed bag. Does anyone use something that works well? They are going in a security light.

Thanks

C sized rechargeable batteries?
Was looking into those years ago and they all seemed to be AA cells in a C sized package.
sorry no current information though.
Don't think I even have anything that uses C sized cells.

Yeah, this light uses 4 C batteries. It works nicely but I'm tired of buying batteries. They do last about 3-months.

I didn't know they were AA in C package.

I made that assumption based on the mah capacities of the 2 different sized cells of the time.
The C sized Nimh cells seems to have the same capacity as the highest capacity AA cells.

Alkaline based cells were an entirely different beast though with the larger sized cells having much more capacity.

I think these look good and get good reviews. I will get these. I have one set of regular C batteries left to use, which are going in today.

The others linked are alkaline.

Edit: Had to remove and re add the link due to security issue.

One thing about rechargeable Nimh cells they do not put out as much voltage as alkaline and may not work well in all applications.
They are 1.2 volts output where Alkaline and Carbon Zinc are 1.5 volts per cell.

If you do a little search you will find many different manufacturers who offer solutions.

Browsing a bit it seems that AA, C, and D cell Nimh cells all still have around the same mah capacity.

I have an olight that uses a cr123 rechargeable with charging cable. It works great. I didn't see them. I have some time. Some I found were ridiculously expensive. I didn't want to pay 30 bucks for two batteries.

Thanks for the ideas.

fyi:
10280 = N cell
10440 = AAA
14250 = 1/2 AA
14500 = AA
15266 = CR2
17340 = CR123A
17335
17670 = 2 X CR123A, Pila 168S/600S
17500 = Pila 150S/300S
18650 = Pila 168A/600P
18500 = Pila 150A/300P
25500 C battery
32650
33600 D battery

I have been able to use 2 26650's to replace 4 C's.. They fit most of the C tubes and/or holders. I have also used 14650's to replace 2 aa's. Trick is to use a spacer. If you are powering an LED light, you have to be careful with too high a current. LED's need a minimum voltage to bloom. But you can power them in a high voltage circuit by limiting the current with a resistor. All you have to do is the math to figure out the size of the resistor from the higher voltage, and use that in a slug spacer. If it is a mag light with a halogen bulb, you can get a higher resistance bulb for the higher voltage.

Just get adapters and use AA Eneloops. Some rechargeables do exist but I think this is probably the most practical and reliable solution.
