Does everybody but me love the Profile RDA?

You must be remembering wrong my friend. NO build will give anybody 70 hits per squonk. Maybe not even 70 per bottle.

About the 3 second mark is where the burning started for me, even at low wattage and after visibly submerging the strip and cotton in juice. Tried everything you see in this thread.

I apologize, it was 35 puffs at 70 watts. But still. That’s a lot of puffs

No doubt about it for me. I may eventually order another one .No foolin. It's that good with a big ol single coil. Still not super warm, but warm enough, no burning and THE FLAVOR! I couldn't believe it.

Did you use the single coil that it came with?

Yeah, there's no way. Unless they were like 10 ms. Puffs. :D

No, I made my own actually. It's on the previous page. You can try that one though too. I just left the ceramic piece in there. It acts like a kind of trough to get the coil from underneath.

wrapped up like a notch coil kinda sorta and obviously you would need two legs and then you put the cotton in as normal. Sounds crazy it is and so am I lol.........
I wonder how they fasten the legs on Theoreom coils? There must be some kinda solder they use. Ive taken apart plenty of factory coils. I never thought too hard about it but I think I've seen solder points.

That sucks, but at least you should have it by the end of the week. If usps is on their game that is.

I have a great sadness in my heart for all of you who do not like the profile RDA, but understand. In my regular rotation is my profile RDA, Intake RTA, Dead Rabbit RTA, and Bonza RDA. I use the first 3 the most, but the flavor I get out of the profile is amazing. Honestly I don't think I'd like it if I wasn't squonking with it though. It took me a little while to figure out how to wick it properly with the mesh, but now that it I have it down to a science it is flavortown USA every dang time.

Full rope of rayon on top of a hunk of cotton jammed down on the springy thingy. Clamp 1 side, jam, then the other
20190206_174415.jpg

Separate about 1/2 the rayon and cut 45 angle top to bottom, clipping cotton off even with springy thingy

20190206_174738.jpg

Thin the rayon tails a bit more an tuck tips to deck

20190206_175032.jpg

Add Cornbread Pudding and work it in slow and low

That is pretty intricate. I just use cotton and quite a bit of it, but do the same process. I fluff out a nice chunk of cotton, lock one side of the mesh in, then slide my cotton underneath. Then I cut the cotton straight not at the angle and I tuck some of the tails underneath the mesh so that the sides don't sag, then I cut again at a 45 degree angle and tuck the remaining cotton in the wells.

Can someone post the name of the cotton that's supposed to fit perfect for the Profile? I read it like a week ago. It's not sold everywhere and maybe has orange on the bag? I forgot.

Not really. I'll have to try some cotton sometime. I'm just trying to get @gsmit1 back on the mesh so I was Ambien posting a little late....

I have 2 now, so maybe I'll play with it some more at some point, but for me personally, the mesh strips left a bad taste in my mouth (pun?)

Again, speaking only for myself, it's a time consuming, not very economical pain in the rear with no return on that investment. I'm not willing to spend any more money and or very much more time on it.

I have 3 now. Have tried the included K1 strips, some VV SS 200, and have some nex mesh on a slow boat, should be here soon.
So far I think the SS tastes cleaner but that's the same way I feel about coils. The mesh is just kicking some A for me, I love it with rayon, haven't tried cotton.
It's actually quite cheap if you're not burning big hunks of wotofo cotton. The mesh should last a long time.
I would be happy to send you some SS mesh, rayon, and a nex mesh to try. Just drop me a PM if you decide to give it another spin.

I was thinking just as much of all the juice it's drunk up :)

I'm willing to try anything for free :D

Aside from the fact that you seem hellbent on getting me to like it :D believe me, I WANT to.

I'll drop you a PM and thank you very much :)

In the meantime, I encourage you to try a 4mm single coil sitting about a mil above the ceramic piece since you have three and all. NOT saying you'll like it better, but at least you'll see what I'm talking about too.

When you guys are vaping regular coils, what kind of setup do you usually prefer?

I guess what I'm getting at is that I can't get enough heat without burning it. Not for me. So I'm wondering if you guys just like a cooler vape.

It's either cool and boring or dry hits. Believe me, I spent several hours over different days trying everything everybody told me. Some setups were better than others, but in the end I always wound up shelving it and reaching for something else. "Boring" is the best word I can come up with for the vape it gave me. I enjoyed pretty much every other setup I have more.

Until I put that 4mm regular single in it and it came instantly to life. I just don't like mesh.

I just bought another one. I love it with a single regular coil. It vapes seriously awesome with the build on the previous page.

I hasten to clarify once again that I am not in any way looking askance at anybody who likes mesh in their Profile. I have never once said that it sucks or anything like that. I am truly happy for those who are enjoying it. Who am I to tell them they shouldn't?

I like the profile so much I ended buying multiples. I would have to say it's currently my favorite RDA. It's really good with both mesh and regular coils as long as you get the wicking right. I know everyone has their own way of vaping but here's what works for me.

Mesh - I make sure the mesh is consistent in shape and there are no kinks. I smooth over the mesh from the inside with the provided tool once it's secured to the deck. I make sure there is enough cotton, normally use the wotofo cotton but have used other cotton as well. The key is to make sure that all parts of the mesh is in contact with the cotton. It gets pretty tight and it makes squonking harder but the more cotton the better. Twisting the cotton while inserting helps. Twisting once inserted also helps to smooth out the the cotton and makes contact with the mesh consistent.

Regular Coil - With regular coils I initially thought it was pretty good but no way near the vape quality as the mesh. There were also problems with spit back and that bubbling sound from juice cooking. I ended up putting cotton underneath the coil in addition to the normal through the coil method. This made a world of difference for me. More vapor, better flavor, less spit back and no more bubbling. I'm still experimenting with this but so far it's working.

Not trying to tell anyone how to wick their profile, just sharing what works for me. I normally a prefer semi-restricted warmer vape.

I use a 4mm coil in mine raised about a mm above the ceramic piece. Juice hits the bottom of the of the coil when I sqounk it. The only time I have any gurgling issues if I over-squonk it, which isn't very often now that I'm used to it.

Does anybody here wick with KGD? I was hoping someone could tell me approx how much of a square I should use.

I tried wicking it once and it didn't work out but I want one just so I can use it with the revenant x tvl and have an excuse to buy one lol.

I want to like it but I just haven't gotten the wicking down yet. I used a LOT of cotton but it could have been TOO much?

I use a little more than a full sheet when I wick with KGD.

Well Bob's stuff got here :)

Many thanks to @BobsHere Your thoughtfulness and generosity are greatly appreciated no matter how this turns out.

I got a piece of the SS mesh cut down and did the CB/Rayon wicking, I think pretty close to what you said above.

This is by far the best result I've gotten with mesh in this rda. No burning at 50 watts even after my regular length pulls. That alone calls for a parade.

That said, it's a royal pain to set this up, still absorbs liquid like death valley in July, and unless I can run it quite a bit warmer and rayon takes some time to break in, I doubt I'll do it again.

In other words, at 50 watts ,the vape I'm getting is still way too tame and cool for me and the flavor decent, but not great, which is why my thought about rayon maybe requiring some break in time.

In other other words, in terms of what I look for in a vape experience, it's still pretty far away and I honestly can't see myself putting in this much effort and spending this much juice to not really get what I want.

Maybe it actually will allow me to run it a lot hotter this way. If so that may be a different story.

In any case, the rayon and SS mesh will always remain greatly appreciated.

I do want to say that I really can understand why people like the Profile though. It is very distinctive and unique in the vape it delivers.

It's kinda like the band YES. They are incredible musicians and songwriters. Only a musical idiot would deny that. They just never made music I really liked.

All I can figure is that the flavor/vapor profile (no pun intended) you get is not what you expect maybe...I put an OFRF Nexmesh strip in, wick and can vape it HOT at 110 watts and get wonderful flavor and hot vapor off of it. Hell at 68 watts (where I normally run my Profiles) they are at above average warmth with damn respectable Vapor production.

Good analogy with YES, always kind of felt the same way.
You must like a hot vape cause I run mine at 40-42 but I do like a cooler vape.
Try that rayon in some of your coils. I think it performs better than cotton in every way. But..... it's all so subjective....
I always drip and pulse about 5 times for break in. A couple pulls at lower watts then it's good to go.

I have no reason to believe you would lie to me and I KNOW your knowledge and experience utterly dwarfs my own. I say that with hat in hand.

That said, I don't know how these mesh strips wouldn't instantly burst into flames at 110 watts. My not knowing that doesn't make it impossible. But my experience is, everything in this thread, tight cotton, squonked so wet I had juice trying to get out the airflow holes and hits drying out at the end at 65 watts.
